This was my first time playing here. I’d been wanting to for years, but not having a JC card does make it considerably harder to get an early time. After my previous plans for the day changed last minute, I was very lucky and found a 6:45am tee time.

Check in was easy and I then spent a few minutes on the range. There is a large putting green and also a little putting course. The starter got me paired with a local twosome and we headed out right on time, beginning on hole #10.

I really enjoyed the layout. With only a couple of exceptions, the fairways are wide with very little trouble. The front nine has a couple of good sized hills and one hole (#7, I think) has a blind tee shot. That one was really fun and I was thrilled with a par. The back was pretty straight forward with no surprises.

Conditions were very good. The fairways were mostly green with no bare spots that I recall. The rough was short-ish and easy to chip from. The sand in the bunkers was clean, soft and well groomed. The tee boxes were level and in good shape. Other than the awful number of new and old ball marks, the greens were beautiful and rolled a fast medium speed.

The staff was friendly and POP was good at 4:15. Recommended.

I played here yesterday as the first stop on my GK Vegas weekend. I had time only for a short course. I've read nice things about this course and the location was ideal. Upon arrival, though, I made the awful discovery that I had left my putter at home. Luckily, I found an old putter for $5 in the pro shop so all was ok.

The staff was super friendly and sent me out 45 min early, paired with a nice twosome. I didn't have time to warm up but they do have a nice range, putting green and chipping area.

The course was very impressive. It's an executive course with 6 par 4s and 12 par 3s. There are plenty of mounds, swales and elevated greens to keep things interesting. There are also a couple of carries over water to the green.

The conditions were excellent. Everything was lush and emerald green. The tee boxes were in surprisingly good shape- level and with not too many divots. The greens were not super firm but they were super fast making putting a challenge with my unfamiliar putter.

There are quite a few bunkers. There are 3 that I remember that are extremely long, curvy-shaped and have a stone wall along the back. The sand is bright white and sparkly but very coarse and a bit crusty. My wedge probably has a few more scratches now.

The carts have ice chests and the beverage cart came by 3 times. POP was great at just under 3 hours. I would definitely play here again. Highly recommended.

I played in the GK outing yesterday with Perry, David and Lindsey. Playing here is such a treat. The course conditions, as other reviews have noted, were near perfect from tee to green. Visually, this course makes me so happy. The contrast of the emerald green fairways spotted with the snow white bunkers was stunning. The entire course was very neatly manicured. Other than some loud music coming from a nearby home, it was so peaceful out there.
The driving range was disappointing being mats. I was able to put in a short tee which worked fine for hitting my driver, but I definitely prefer the grass. The putting green and chipping areas were great. The carts were about as basic as they come. It would be nice if they could add GPS.
I played really well and always enjoy the GK festivities afterwards. I’m still smiling thinking about all of it. Thank you Johnny and Goose Creek for another wonderful day!

I had a great time in the GK Guru outing yesterday with Kevin and Pedro. It was my first time playing here and I was excited for the opportunity. It was a long drive from OC in the morning traffic but very much worth it.

The staff was welcoming with a cart in the parking lot. Pro shop staff was also very friendly. The driving range gave the first of many beautiful views out across the fields to the mountains. The putting green gave a preview of how crazy fast the greens would be on the course.

Conditions were overall pretty good. The fairways were very nice. Other than just a few thin areas, there was good coverage and cushion. The forward tee boxes could have been better. Several were sloped with the ball well above my feet. I found 4 (or 5?) bunkers. Some had whiten sparkly sand, others were more pebbly dirt-like. The rough varied from very long & deep to near nothing around many of the greens.

The greens were an adventure. There were smooth, firm and fast! The speed combined with the many subtle breaks made for some interesting and very amusing putts.

Thank you Johnny, and Spanish Hills, for a really fun day. I hope to play here again sometime.

I played in the GK outing with Laura, Peter and Todd. This was my first time here and I loved it. The staff was friendly and helpful. As soon as I parked, a cart was brought to my car and I was promptly greeted in the pro shop. They have a nice grass range, large putting green and a chipping area with lush grass around the green. The carts were comfy, quiet and had GPS and a cooler.

The course was really fun. There are lots of elevation changes, gorgeous views and a good variety of holes. There were a few holes where some course knowledge would really come in handy. The only hole that really frustrated me was #7. It was a par 3 but the green was not visible from the copper tees. There was a huge mound in the way. We could see the top of the flag but had no idea what the green looked like. Not fun when I’m trying win closest to the pin lol.

The fairways were lush and the greens medium fast with lots of undulations. The bunkers had enough sand but lots of little stones and pebbles. The tee boxes were mostly level with few divots. Some rough was dormant and some was lush and green. It was all easy to chip from which made me very happy.

The restaurant was top notch too. The food was good and the service excellent.
I would like very much to play here again sometime. Thank you Johnny and Laughlin Ranch!

I played yesterday in the Guru outing with Gary, Marvin and Steve It was great seeing everyone else too. What a nice day. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I hit a few on the range and putting green. If the on-course greens were to be that slick, I knew I’d be in for an adventure. I definitely should have tried the practice bunker….

The short, dry dormant grass of the fairways isn’t my favorite, but the extra roll out is always helpful. I found a few bunkers. The beautiful white, heavy sand here really gave me some trouble. The greens were great- smooth and fast.

I played from the red tees. There were several holes where the tee boxes were just small mounds with the markers only about 5 or 6 feet apart. They were not all level and had lots of divots. Being so small there wasn’t much choice of where to place the tee. It wasn’t really a problem, but I thought it was odd.

I enjoyed the layout very much. Such a variety of holes and there were so many really fun ones. I would love to play here again when the grass is green. I bet it would be just beautiful. Thank you, Johnny and Bear Creek for a wonderful time.

I played Woodley today with Kassper7 and two of his friends. I’d only played here once before, several years ago. I remembered nothing of the course so it was really like playing it for the first time. We got out right at our 11:00 tee time.
The course is completely flat so is perfect for walking. It’s a bit long for me at 5689 yds from the yellows but at par 76 and with the help of my new driver, it was very do-able. It’s pretty basic with wide fairways, very few bunkers and just enough trees to keep it interesting. There was, however, an overabundance of goose poop everywhere!
The fairways are a mixture of grasses with some thin-to-bare areas but overall had good coverage. The rough was short. I would have enjoyed having the grass a little longer around the greens to make for easier chipping as I’m not so good with the bump and run shots. The greens were in good condition with only an occasional ball mark.
I enjoyed playing here. It’s a nice no-pressure course. Good fun. Recommended.

I played Rancho Park for the first time today. A friend was able to get a 7am tee time. I was excited for the chance to play here despite the very, very cold temps that early. We planned to walk which was a good thing as it appeared to be walking-only today. There were no riding carts anywhere. I think that may be the reason the course was not crowded and POP ended up exactly 4 hrs. I’ve heard it is frequently much long than that.

I enjoyed the course a lot and played really well despite the course being very long for me. The forward tees, on many holes were only five or so yards in front of the whites. Having few bunkers and no water certainly helped. The layout was fun, with lots of elevation changes. There were a few blind shots but my playing partners had all been there before and were able to help guide me.

Conditions were overall pretty good. The fairways were half lush and half thin with some soggy and muddy areas. The yellow tee boxes had good coverage but the majority of them were not level. The other boxes appeared to be good. The rough varied from deep enough to cover a ball to very thin even around some greens. The greens were really great- smooth, soft, and receptive. The only marks I found to fix were our own. That was so unusual but so nice!

I loved seeing the plaque at the 18th tee showing the story of when Arnold Palmer took a 12 on that hole. Happily, I only shot a 6. What a fun way to finish the round and a great way to start the new year . Recommended.

Played today in a mini-GK outing. I played here a couple of months ago and enjoyed it very much. I was happy for the opportunity to play again. We had a 7:30am tee time but upon arrival found a two hour frost delay. No problem. We all went and enjoyed breakfast at a nearby café as the golf course restaurant was not yet open. When we arrived back at the course, it was very busy. The staff was super friendly and efficient in keeping things organized and getting the players out after the delay.

The conditions were pretty good. The fairways and rough are dormant brown and cut very short. Those tight lies gave me some trouble but I certainly appreciated the extra roll out on my drives. The sand in the five or six (or more?) bunkers I was in was great. It was very clean and soft. I haven’t seen bunkers that nice in a while. The greens were hard and fast! They are very undulating and putting was a real challenge for all of us. Other than a few moments of frustration, it was a super fun day playing with Tim, Brady and Ross. Huge thanks to Johnny for setting it up.

Played Firecliff today. It was my second time, the first having been a few years ago at a GKplays. My friend, new Gkr jibnjab, and I had a 7:40am tee time in an attempt to beat the 108 degree heat. I was greeted in the parking lot with a cart and check in was fast and friendly.

Range balls were included so I headed out for a few minutes. There were only about 10 stalls open and they were at the very back of the range, behind all the level ground where it slopes down to the cart path. The grass was pretty chewed up but it really was ok. Warming up with all uphill lies was kind of nice. The large chipping and putting area was in very nice shape. I wish I had putted a bit as maybe it would have helped save a few putts on the course. We started on time, paired with a very nice twosome.

The course was in absolutely beautiful shape. The fairways were completely lush- no thin spots to be found. The tee boxes were all level with little to no divot damage. The bunkers–and I was in several- were great. The fairway traps were firm and very easy to hit from. I’m really enjoying using my new hybrid for shots like that. The greenside bunkers were big, deep and had plenty of clean soft sand. The greens were firm and rolled smoothly, The grass was just long enough, though, to cause a very noticeable difference in speed with or against the grain. Really fast one way, almost sluggish the other.

The layout is very enjoyable. There are a few narrow holes with water danger, and plenty of nice wide fairways too. Lots of undulations and bunkers everywhere really keep things interesting. Clean bathrooms and several water/ice stations around the course were appreciated. The beverage cart came by three times and another cart brought ice cold mango (?)- scented towels. Now that was a nice touch! POP was good at just over 4 hrs.

If you don’t mind the summer heat, go play! Highly Recommended.

A fun day with the GK Gurus on 8-8-21. I played here a couple years ago and was very excited to have an opportunity to give it another go. Other than being so far away, Ridge Creek Dinuba is everything I enjoy in golf course. There is a great practice area, the staff is helpful and friendly and restaurant is good. There is such a calm, relaxed and happy atmosphere here. It would be so easy to just hang out for an entire day, golfing or not.

The course is in very nice shape with lush fairways and large, level tee boxes. I was in about six of those big, big bunkers. They had more hard, pebbly dirt than sand but were still ok to hit from. I found the unmaintained native area only once. Fortunately, I landed in dirt rather than the foot-long vegetation so was able to easily get back to fairway safety. The greens were soft, had way too many ball marks, but rolled nicely.

I would like to play here again, in cooler weather when walking is an option. Highly recommended.

I played today with a 7:21am tee time. I had anticipated hot weather but it turned out to be a perfect cool and breezy day. My round was pre-paid and upon check in I was offered 3 cart choices- single for $10, share one for $0 or take an old cart without GPS for $0. I was paired with a twosome and another single. I didn’t have any time to warm up so I just hoped I’d get off to a good start.

The course is in really good shape. The fairways are all green with only a few areas where the turf was a little thin and showing signs of recent punching. A few greens showed the same, but still rolled true at a medium speed. Tee boxes were level with a minor amount of divots. The bunkers were a pleasant surprise. A few were a bit damp but the sand was plentiful, clean, soft and really easy to hit out of. The rough varied from long and lush to short, dense and clumpy. Luckily I never landed in the long stuff.

There have been a few changes around the course since the last time I played there. Several bunkers have been removed, as has been the desert area that was in the middle of the #13 fairway. It’s so nice to have that all grass again. There is also a new lake in front of the green on #6. Visually it’s very nice and it definitely ups the challenge on the short par 4.

POP was good at just over 4 hours. All the staff was nice, the course was great, my playing partners were so much fun, and I played really well too. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Definitely recommended.
