We played the morning of December 26th after about a 1.5 hour frost delay. We used an Underpar voucher so we paid $95/person. The course conditions, layout, and overall facilities probably warrant the higher than average greens fees but I wouldn't pay much more. They have a grass driving range that is included with the greens fees. The course conditions were all good on this day. The tee boxes were all lush and level. The fairways were also lush and well maintained. The bunkers I was in had good coverage and the sand was nice and fine. The greens were also nice and were quick and rolling smoothly. The course has a fun layout with numerous forced carries. There are several signature holes with nice elevated views of the Temecula valley. I'd be remiss to not mention the high quality golf carts. They were equipped with a nice gps system and nice contoured seats. The cart girl came around so much that I wondered if she was trying to get us drunk ??. I'd definitely recommend the course.

This is a late review for play on Black Friday. I paid $26 which included a cart and that was a great deal. I guess a lot of people felt the same way because the facilities were packed on this day! The grass driving range was full and the course was jam packed. We were initially told that we'd be on the tee about 20 minutes late but we eventually teed off about 40 minutes late. Although this wasn't ideal, I was more upset with the starters for not being organized. It was a chaotic situation and after telling the starter our original tee time I went into the clubhouse to hear that they were putting a later tee time ahead of us. This certainly didn't make me happy and I let them know. In addition, they didn't have enough carts for our group initially. Instead, they gave the other members in our group pull carts. They did quickly correct the situation but it was definitely bush league. The course was in decent shape overall. The tee boxes were level with some divot damage but nothing egregious. The fairways were decent. They had some divot damage and some fairways were a little dry but the upkeep was inline with my expectations for a muni. The rough was dicey at best. They varied from bare to patchy lies. I can't comment on the bunkers since I wasn't in any; perhaps there weren't too many. The best part of this course and what I consider to be the most important to any golf course are the greens. They were relatively smooth, lush, and rolled true. I like this course because of the value and there is good variety in terms of challenge and length. The cart girl came around once. Despite the many less than ideal circumstances, I'll eventually be back.

Riverwalk is always a solid option because of its price, consistent quality, and the central location in SD. I'm disappointed to find out about its pending closure.....even though it sounds like it'll be some time before the closure takes place. I paid $50 to play the Presidio/Mission layout and it was cart path only. Despite this, the pace of play was very good and I finished in less than 4.5 hours. I found the greens to roll true and were in good shape. Fairways were also pretty good. Tee boxes were level but there were a few that had recently undergone some maintenance and were very thin as a result. I noticed on some holes that the grass surrounding the bunkers were practically all but removed. The Presidion and Mission tracks are due for maintenance soon so I'm sure that they were just getting a head start. I'll be back once the maintenance is done.

I played Eagle Crest last weekend and echo the comments from the previous reviewer. The greens were good for the most part but the rest of the course left a lot to be desired. Although there were several fairways that were decent, it seemed as if they cut the grass around the bunkers too much leaving practically just dirt on several of the holes. From a distance, it was sometimes hard to distinguish bunkers from fairways or rough since it just looked all brown. Additionally, the bunkers were very inconsistent from hole to hole. They ranged from newer sand with decent coverage to crusty dirt/sand with thin coverage. The layout of this course is fun with some interesting holes but it looks like they are cutting back on maintenance/watering. I played for $25 but even at that rate, I think it will be awhile until I play again.

I took advantage of the birthday golf special at Tustin Ranch over the weekend and I can't think of a better deal. Range balls, lunch, green fees, and cart for a minimal fee at one of OC's better courses? Yes please. I've only played here a few times but the course conditions were great each time and it was no different on this occasion. Throughout the course, conditions were lush and well maintained. My only complaints would be some patchy rough and some bumpy greens. Nevertheless, it's a treat to play here. Tustin Ranch is a top notch golf facility. The rack rate here is too much for me and I feel that it is overpriced but I'd be happy to play here every week if I had a birthday special every week. :)

I got out on Saturday morning for $34 through the course site. I recently moved to OC and have been finding that a lot of the courses in the area are overpriced. For a weekend rate of $34 in OC, I'd be hard pressed to find a better deal. There are a number of holes on this course that I find quirky and others that don't fit my eye but overall, I find the layout to be fun and there is ample opportunity to score here. I found the overall course conditions to be good. I found the tee boxes to be level and lush with some divot damage. Fairways were pretty good and the bunkers I was in had consistent coverage. The greens were receptive and pretty fast but a little bumpy. My biggest gripe would be the consistency of the rough. There were lots of bare areas and some patches that were really deep. Although we finished in just under 4.5 hours, it seemed a lot slower than it played. Last thoughts....finishing with a par 3 = bad, finishing in the 19th hole = good. I'll be back.

I played Labor Day weekend and as I've commented before, I really enjoy playing this course. The layout is very fun, yet challenging, and I've always had good experiences here. Although I don't really like ending a round on a par 3, this hole is fun as it is 200+ yards playing over water. As far as the course conditions go, the grass was slightly on the dry side in certain areas but still very good. The entire course was lush. The tee boxes were all level and well maintained. The fairways were also very good. The rough was long enough that it commanded your full attention in order to strike your bally cleanly when coming out of it. The greens had some marks from divot damage but were generally good and rolling true. The one bunker was in had lots of soft sand yielding one of the worst fried egg I've ever seen. There is a well maintained grass driving range and putting green at the course. There was no one playing in front of us or behind us so we took our time. The one complaint I had was the lack of water igloos on the course and even the drinking fountain at the turn was out of service; definitely an issue on such a warm day. The cart girl came around several times and really knew how to make a bloody mary....she was also really fun to look at. The clubhouse is nice and a great place to get an after round drink. It also provides a good spot to watch your buddies knock a ball into the water while finishing on the 18th. I'd definitely recommend this course....it reminds me of a sister course to Maderas.

I played 36 over the weekend with an Underpar voucher and agree with the previous reviewers' sentiments; the course was in great condition. It's always such a treat to play here. The layout is challenging yet fun. I don't have anything but glowing words for this course and its staff. Speaking of the staff, they were amazing.....every single one of them! They were all so accommodating and friendly and I thank them for that.
I wanted to share some of my experiences with the food on this occasion. We called in our orders while on the 9th tee during the first 18 and the food was ready after we finished the hole. We got breakfast burritos and they were very good. We also went into the clubhouse during a timeout between rounds and were treated with an assorted meat plate which was awesome!
If you want a top level golf experience, Maderas is the club for you.

I played over this past weekend and found the course to be in decent shape. I haven't played the course in awhile but have always found it to be a good value for what you get. The conditions were about what I'd expect at a typical muni. There were some bare spots throughout the course including some large patches in the middle of the fairways but for the most part, I found the fairways and tee boxes to be fairly lush. The tee boxes were mostly level and the greens were soft and receptive and rolling true. The rough was inconsistent, varying from patchy and thin to lush and thick. I got stuck in some of the thicker stuff several times and it was tough to hack out of. There are some holes that provide a decent challenge but if you play conservative or know where to miss, there are ample opportunities to score. Most of the holes are of the "what you see is what you get" variety so no blind shot madness. There is a nice grass range and the staff is friendly. I didn't see the cart girl much since the course was fairly empty....probably due to the intermittent rain on this day. I paid $30, which included a cart and finished in just under 4 hours.....I'd be hard pressed to find a better Saturday morning deal.

I also played the other 18 hole layout of the Oasis Golf Club this past weekend. My review for the Canyons course is essentially the same for this, the Palmer course. The track is great in terms of layout and conditions. This layout also gave off an oasis feeling. The course was lush and green throughout. Greens were smooth and tee boxes and fairways were well kept. This course also has plenty of elevation drops....a couple of par 4s and a par 5 that are multi story drops where your tee shots go boom and fly forever. I'm not sure there is anything to add but I'll be out there once again next year!

I played this past weekend during my annual trip to Mesquite and it looks like there has only been one post since my last review. It's too bad because the course is great in terms of layout and conditions. I think most golfers would enjoy it. It definitely has the feeling of an oasis as the name of the facility suggests. Lots of green, lush grass and palm trees galore made it feel cooler than what it probably was. I played during the hottest weekend of the season so that was lucky. :/ Nevertheless, the course was fun and the staff did their best to make us feel comfortable. There were plenty of elevation changes and unique hole designs. Overall, the entire course was lush and green and well kept. The tee boxes were level and the greens were smooth and rolled true. I was impressed at the condition of the course considering the heat. I'll be out there once again next year!

I played Conestoga in the blazing heat over the weekend. I find it truly amazing that they are able to keep the grass so green even in such heat. I really enjoy this golf course. It's a true desert golf experience and some of the holes really put you in awe as you wonder how many millions of dollars it took to build the course. Some of the rock walls alone must've cost something pretty. It's a challenging course and the golf course almost makes it feel hotter than it actually is because most of the course is built right in the middle of the desert with nothing to see but deserted land. As far as the conditions go, the greens were very hard and didn't yield much of a divot with even the highest of approach shots.....lots of balls ran out. Despite this, the greens rolled much slower than you'd expect. I wasn't in any bunkers so I can't speak to their condition but everything else was very well kept. I visit this course once a year and I am already looking forward to the next trip.....but hopefully it is cooler the next time.
