Played 4/19 with tournament. Pace of play is slow here due to tough rough and lack of sand in bunkers. As mentioned before, greens were slow on downhill putts. I felt I was guessing wrong on speed all day. The rough is different than any muni I have played in SoCal. Grass was very sticky so you needed a firm left wrist to get the proper strike on the ball. The wind was up on some holes and others were unaffected. I like the course and look to come back soon.

Played here 3/22 after they had punched the greens. Not a fun experience playing a high priced course with punched greens. The rest of the course is great, especially the bunkers which are world class sand. Our mens league had booked the date before knowing this would happen. Certainly it took away from the event.

Second time playing Arrowood on 2/18. Now that I know the track, not as much steering of shots. The greens were in fine shape rolling fast. The rough was overgrown. Did not hit any bunkers so I cannot vouch for the sand quality. I like the course and equally enjoy the range and chipping green. The practice putting area speed matched the greens, a nice touch that some courses have trouble with. Look forward to playing here again.

Played the Classic 12/30, course played in five hours for holiday week, not bad. Greens were in very good shape and speed was very consistent. Fairways were a bit wet and patchy so the ball picked up mud on some holes. I enjoy a low stress round on occasion and the Classic satisfies that need.

Did not see a cart girl all day but good food at the turn.

Played from the blues on 11/4 at 9:30AM. POP about four hours as our threesome included a scratch golfer and no balls were lost. Greens were in very good condition. The course is straight-forward with targets unimpeded by funky design with water or lots of traps. I always enjoy playing Destroyer and will be back in the future. I miss the Navy jets taking off, btw.

Played 10/27 with 1:07 tee time. The greens were subpar for RSJ as footprints and ball marks were visible everywhere making putting a challenge. Sandtrap sand was either packed or overgenerous in spots as I hit numerous bunkers to attest to the quality or lack thereof. I understand half of the greens will be punched over the next two days so playing conditions should improve by mid November unless they continue to overwater for the new seeds to take. It was swampy in the fairways in spots.

Played the Ike 10/20 and it was a 5:30 round. Tournament slow play with a number of players playing this course for the first time, myself included. Greens were in great shape while the fairways and tee boxes were dormant in preparation for overseeding. The course is easier in my mind than the Babe. The opening hole, short dogleg par 5 is gettable. We played from the whites and there were a number of 420 yard par fours including the third hole, downhill semi-blind tee shot. I would play here again when the fairways were in better shape.

First time playing Monarch Beach and the best thing about this course is the quality of the sand in the bunkers. First off, there is fluffy sand in there that you can work the ball with around the greens. The greens were in very good shape with putts breaking toward the Pacific, defying gravity in some instances. Fairways and tee boxes also well maintained, except for 12th fairway in some spots and 16 looks like they are adding a large bunker in front of the green. Pace of play was 5 hours on the weekend. Played on a friends Crown Card. From the gold tees, not a long golf course but enjoyable. Hole #7 is the best test with downwind conditions helping shorten the hole.

Played 8/18 for the first time. Went off from the white tees. Tee to green, the course is in front of you. The greens were another story with undulations and speedy surfaces. I found it difficult to match up where to be agressive or play conservative on the greens. The surfaces were smooth but lots of inexpertly repaired divots made a mess of the greens. Most every golfer does not know how to repair divots and when greens are receptive as Arrowood, you get messed up putting surfaces.

I will come back to play when the weather turns cooler so the greens are less of a problem.

Played here July 27 for the first time. Very nice layout indeed. If you played El Toro in the past or Navy Golf Course in Cypress presently, this is the best track of the three. Since the course lies in a canyon, on shore breezes will help your first few holes. Turning into the wind, you need two more clubs heading into the green. The rough is sticky, killing errant drives withing 5-10 yards. The greens were medium fast.

At $36 to walk, this is well worth your money to play, however avoid Saturday if you leave from Orange County as the summer traffic is brutal on I-5. Next time we will take the Las Pulgas gate instead of taking 76 to Douglas to Vandergrift.

Played Celebrity and Players 6/1& 6/2. Weather Saturday was hot and humid and I played poorly. Sunday was cooler and breezier and I had much better results. Kudos to the tournament director at IW for handling our group of 12 players. The pro shop staff was first rate. The courses were in excellent condition. I had played there two years ago and they certainly have improved the courses conditioning. The only negative is the course marshalls who think they need to ask for a 4.5 hour round and remind you that three holes in. Lost balls combined with comfort stations breaks for ice water make for a five hour round. The mango flavored ice water towels were a big plus in the heat. We will be back.

Played April 4 and enjoyed the course and the views. Due to 4500 elevation, the ball travels 5-7% longer. In combination with many downhill holes, Sedona plays much shorter, 1-2 clubs less. If you are an OB Sports member, good savings on greenies.

I would definitely play there again.
