I got out to Kierland with a 909 tee time. Play going on but not packed on the course. Practice balls are included in the round with the driving range under shade in some spots.
We got off as a single playing the Ironwood/Mesquite combo and didn’t run into anyone until the back side. Ended up joining another twosome.
Course conditions were mixed. Ironwood greens were very slow and not completely recovered. The greens on Ironwood were in bad shape. Many bare spots and patches of grass made it feel like putting on a plinko board. Lots of small ridges in the greens causing putts to go off line and lose speed. Fairways on both nines were ok with some bare spots.
Overall, the course is not really worth it right now.

I played Stadium course on 6/25 with a 1250 tee time. A good amount of play going on considering the prices they are still charging in the summertime. A coworker has the TPC card and we scored a good rate.
Not much to add to my review from last year but the greens were immaculate minus the unrepaired ball marks on every single green. Bunkers were also in poor conditions with nobody seeming to rake the bunkers after their shot. All three of my group ended up in a footprint.
I enjoy the course and it’s a fair challenge. We played the blue tees at around 6600 yards and it’s a challenge with some long 4s.
I definitely recommend getting to the course before they shutdown for maintenance.

I played Sterling Grove on a 920 tee time on 6/18/22.
Customer service here is always great from the bag drop to the beverage cart service.
This facility has a great range and practice area with range balls included.
The golf course was in good summer shape. Tee boxes had been aerated recently and were on the hard side but still accepting of tees. Fairways are on the thin side with a few bare spots but not horrible. Sand traps in great shape with plenty of sand and very playable.
Greens throughout were on the brown side and firm. Speed was medium fast with some wicked pin locations but playable.
I enjoy this course and would currently recommend

I wanted to try a new course in the area and glad I chose Native Oaks. Easy to find and someplace to play again.
Customer service was great throughout. Didn’t see a beverage cart but not a big deal for me. Nice grass driving range and big putting green.
Course conditions were good overall. I liked the layout and variety of holes. The front nine was open while the back nine had more bite. Greens were consistent throughout the round. Fairways were a little bare in spots but didn’t affect play.
Pace of play was an issue on the back nine. I was paired with another single and we ended up joining another single on 10. Ran into a wall of slow play.
I always like trying new courses and can’t wait to play this one again.

My son and I got out for some vacation golf and wanted to give this course a try. We are both glad we did.
I had low expectations but was pleasantly surprised at how fun the course was. Nothing luxurious here, just a fun little par 3 course.
We started on the back nine and there was a lot of play going on until we made the turn.
Conditions were on par with pricing but the greens were in good shape albeit on the slow side. Tee boxes were mixed but overall just ok.
We both enjoyed walking the course and customer service was great.

I’m down in the Tucson area of Vail for my wife’s work trip and played Del Lago this morning. It was a bit of a chore to get to the course with crazy road paving going on and my GPS directing me wrong but made it in time. I was supposed to tee of at 910 with a twosome but they left early. Another foursome let me play through so I pretty much had the course to myself. A few groups teeing off behind me but I didn’t catch anyone until the last couple of holes.
Nice facilities on the range with plenty of space to hit from. Course conditions overall were a little rough around the edges. The course could use some maintenance on the cart paths. They are super rough. Basic golf carts with no GPS so it was a learning experience with the first time playing the course.
The fairways were in good shape as were the greens. Sand traps were a mixed bag. Dormant rough with not much of a penalty hitting it there.
A nice play right now and I’m glad I got to enjoy the course.
I enjoyed the course itself. I thought it was fun with a good variety of holes. Water comes into play on a few holes. Strategy and being able to hit your ball where you want is a must. I wouldn’t call it target desert golf but anything off the fairways is in the desert.

We got out as a foursome at 1:30 on Saturday the 15th. We used a friend’s TPC card for a $93 rate with all the amenities included.
It’s been a few years since I’ve played here and I was happy to play here again. The course conditions were great with really nothing to complain about.
The course will challenge you with no two holes playing the same. The greens were hard for me to get a good read on but that was my problem and not the greens’ fault.
Pace of play was a bit of an issue with the group in front of us but we were able to finish all 18. The two groups behind us may have finished but not much more beyond them.
Champions is a good play right now.

My group got out to Troon North Pinnacle for a 1:03 tee time. The rate was $69 utilizing the Troon Summer card. It was my first time playing the course and I was excited for the experience.
Check in was smooth with great customer service all around. Grass range was big but not a lot of grass to hit off with the amount of play going on. Practice areas were all in good shape.
I feel Pinnacle was a challenging course from the gold tees we played and being the first time playing the course. I think playing a second or third time would result in knowing more where to hit and how to play the holes a little better. The course has a great GPS system showing you the layout of the holes but it doesn't make up for experience. I liked the variety of holes and the fact you could play each hole a little different. Great scenery and views throughout the round.
Course conditions were good save for the greens. They were very soft and accepting of approach shots but each green was riddled with ball marks, both fixed and unfixed. They made putting a challenge as did the subtle breaks in the greens. Fairways were good save for a few dried spots but not bad. I expected the course to be more lush considering the rain we have recently had but still in good summer conditions. Overall conditions were good for the price.
I don't think you can go wrong with choosing Pinnacle right now given conditions.

The round on 6/16 was my first time playing here in a number of years. I utilized the Troon Summer card for a pretty good deal considering their current rack rates. We played Mesquite/Acacia combo as Ironwood is closed for aeration.
Kierland has first class service all around. Everyone was great from the bag drop on throughout the day. The gentleman in the clubhouse was kind enough to check for a lower rate for my son.
The course was mixed conditions. Dry in some spots and very dry in others but understandable given the 115*-118* temperatures in Phoenix recently.
The fairways were good for the most part. Bunkers had plenty of sand. Tee boxes were on the thin side with lots of divot damage on par 3s.
The greens were spotty and not a lot of grass. I’m not sure if they had been punched recently but very bumpy and thin on grass. They held well struck approach shots but were difficult to putt.
Overall, not a bad place to play for the right rate given the location of the course.

I made it out to Sterling Grove for a 5/22, 1000 am tee time. Troon summer card rate was $69. Rack rates were $100 for the weekend.
Everything about the facilities is first class from the bag drop to customer service throughout. The range, chipping area and putting green were ample and very high quality. Nothing to complain about in these areas.
The wind in the Phoenix area has been crazy the last few days and today was no different. A very challenging but fun course turned to extremely challenge. Some holes were a two club wind. Having 250 yards into a par 4 with a well struck drive makes it a difficult day.
Tee boxes in good shape but hard to get a tee in on the par threes. The fairways were good with good rollout and few bare spots. The bunkers I was in were fair with nice sand. The greens were firm. They accepted shots but rollout on them was long. Well struck shots continued to roll and roll. Many times through the green. Lots of breaks on these greens. They require you to be in a good spot to have any chance of sinking a putt.
Overall, a fun course. I would love to try when the wind isn’t up. A good choice right now considering conditions.

I went to Palmbrook for probably the last time today on a 130 tee time. As the previous reviewer noted this is a value course but a great place to play. I have to say the guys in the clubhouse are the most helpful and welcoming employees. They are always positive and friendly to my son.
Great value like I said with range balls included, great carts with GPS, and good course conditions. As Jamesg18015 said, the course won’t kill you with a forgiving layout but is a fun place to play.
A definite place to play especially now with so many courses in the valley getting ready to oversees.

We got out to Longbow for a late morning tee time. The course was busy early but still had a good amount of play when we were playing.
COVID precautions are to the max here. No bag drop attendant and the guys on duty didn’t seem overly interested in providing any customer service even with the precautions. Big signs going into clubhouse say where your mask yet guys inside the store had their masks pulled down on their chin.
Driving range was in poor shape as were the range balls. Plenty of space to hit but little to no grass on any of the stations.
The course was in good shape overall. As said in the previous review, the desert makes the course feel tight. I agree also many of the holes had the same flavor to them. Most par 4s from the tees one up from the tips were in the 350-370 range. One par 4 was only 300. Some of the holes would have been more fun and challenging from the tips. Not sure why they don’t suggest a combo.
The greens were a highlight. All very receptive and putted fair throughout the round. They had some difficult pin placements today. The bunkers could use more sand but you could still be aggressive out of the bunkers.
Overall, I enjoyed the course. Not sure I’ll be back too quickly but glad I played. It’s a good choice for the right price given current conditions.
