Played in GK outing today with Johnny GK Pfuzzard and Rude Dog. This was my first GK outing and I had a great Time! Quality people and a quality outing! I recommend everyone gives one a try. Mr. GK runs a quality outing with an emphasis on fairness and everyone enjoying themselves! Kudos to you Johnny. All the courses at PGA west are top notch and the Nicklaus is probably the tamest of them all. Wide fairways help you get moving, it's the approach shots that have to be precise. Miss the green and you can have blind shots from 20ft. away. The perfect fairways and light but plush rough, along with smooth medium fast greens, very good bunkers help you recover from your missed shots. I will definetly give another outing a try. Glenz2

Played 5-8 course is in good shape. greens very smooth but a lot of grain makes reading them tough-didn't make a putt! Fairways great, rough lush. The only trap I was in was damp and firm. Good deal for the Palm Springs area especially W/ lunch included. Although It was good it looked strangely familiar to a airflight meal. Maybe they buy the extra from the airport due to slow traffic. Will play again as it is a good test of golf, tight fairways + small greens, and a beautiful setting. Only gripe is very unlevel Tee boxes!!!

Played for first time since re-opening. Just as nice as before maybe better! My first full round of golf in 8 mos. due to back problems. Beauty of this facility made me forget it all and re-interest my love of golf. Conditions are immaculate! Greens smooth as silk!! Clubhouse is art deco and superb. Obvious night time stripper as a cart girl adds that extra touch!! $45 for a Sat tee time on golf now!

10:35 tee time on a donovan daily deal. Good deal but way overbooked!! didn't tee off until 11:35 when pro shop guy had told us we would be on time! 5+ hour round ruined the fact that it was a beautiful day and course was in decent shape!! Tee's and greens were above average, and everthing else was on par. A couple of gimmicky holes but some very solid as well.

I played just about every golf course in P.S. area over the summer!! Cimmaron although not the most visually stunning course gets my nod as the best!!! Course conditions, price, and most of all customer service were the best of any!! True Silverrock and Terra Lago-North are spectacular venues, they lacked any customer service. So I should want to come back in high time to drop $100+? Don't think so. Honorable mention to Shadow Hills and Desert Falls!! Most overrated was Indian Canyons-North. Good shape but a clone of Tahquitz-Legends, nothing special. Most interesting was Desert Falls due to the unique green structures!

Pretty good shape for time of year, greens fast and not as many ball marks as before. definitly worth the Donovan daily rate, maybe not rack rate.

Nice new course, true links feel! Need to think on almost every hole, lotta crap out there! good shape it's supposed to be a little ratty to be links! Green very large and undulating. But are smooth and hold shots!

Well I'll skip all my rantings about this place except for the fact that I almost broke my arm several times hitting a normal shot!!! The fairways are all sod, {crappy sod by the way} And when you divot the whole turf comes up and you stop immediatly!!! Stupid course, overpriced, would rather play the crusty sh$t hole {cresta verde} than this!!!!!!

While the General has lost it's old glory-half dead fairways no rough to speak about-Top Hats growing in-very uneven tee boxes. the greens are outstanding for this time of year!! That makes it well worth the green fee, and the family feel of the staff are great! But how you rate this a 7+ is beyond me c'mon it's a muni!!

Hmmm. Paid my $ got key went out to get in line, big line! teeboxes unlevel and divoted, fairways half dead, rough no it's hardpan! Greens not back from aeration W/ lots of dead spots. I could of swore I booked my time at the General and not Riverside! Hmmm.

Great course! plays pretty long but landing areas are large. Looks more daunting off the tee than it really is, but don't get me wrong there is trouble everwhere! Premium on approach shots, well protected greens. Great views, very good conditioning for a Desert location at the end of a hot summer! Customer service top notch. This course is 1st class all the way!

I would have to agree w/ previous post, course plays well
greens are very firm, hard to hold anything, lots of ball marks, divots in fairways and tee boxes. This is probably due to the number of high caliber golfers this course attracts. greens putted fine, and the frequent lie in a divot in the fairway becomes annoying! the aprons of the greens were the worst, almost all were marked GUR which is fine you get a drop, But you can't run it thru the collars due to the inconsistency! Try flopping it on to a Rock hard green, If you are not Hefty Mickelson forget it!! The bunkers everyone complained about seemed pretty nice to me. And the 310 par 4 plays downhill, I was pin high w/ 3wood, ya gotta wait if u have any game. no construction on weekend, no problem.
