Golf Course Reviews: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Florida, Hawaii!Fairways are good, but tee boxes are just tolerable. Greens are just okay and bit on a slow side. Did not have a cart ready and made our group wait extra 15 minutes, which was lame. Also, the pace of play was pretty dreadful, as it took over 5 1/2 hours to play the around. Had a couple of yahoos hit balls from behind and just missed us both times. No apologies either - some golf etiqutte these days!!
Nothing fancy or special about this course, but just a nice traditional layout with mature tress everywhere. It gets little challenging when winds howl, but still fun to play this course from time to time. Fairways look a bit more brown than normal, but that's probably due to very dry winter season we had. Took about 4 1/4 hours to play the round.
Played infamous Shorecliffs in a long time. It hasn't changed much and still maintains its quirky characterics. It's not as bad as some people label it though. The problem stems from its lack of good consistency throughout the course. For example, I noticed some good tee boxes versus some horrible tee boxes. Fairways also showed a large discrepancy in quality. Greens were quite nice for the most part, however. I developed some fondness for Shorecliffs, because it's easy to get on and relatively inexpensive for O.C. Took about 4 1/2 hours for a round.
The course may be in best conditions since last October. Fairways, especially, are noticeably improved since the winter months. Tee boxes in back nine, however, need more TLC. Otherwise, the course is very playable and should be quite nice by April. Took about 5 1/2 hours to play the round.
Played here for the first time on March 4th. I share the sentiments of prior reviews. It is very well maintained little course with some fun layouts. Greens, except for a few, were in excellent shape. Probably the best part of this course is its ambiance with pretty views throughout the course.
The course is in decent condition for early Feb golf. A few greens are bumpy, however. Took 4 1/2 hours for a round. Overall, one of the better muni courses in the area.
Fairways are being punched and fertilized this week. Obviously that affects your play and scores, not for the better in most cases. Almost impossible to make clean chip shots under this condition, but hopely this maintenance will yield in lush and green condition in spring time. Nevertheless, it's always fun to come out here and enjoy the company you're with.
