First time playing this course and wasn't all that impressed. There is really no rough, only fairway or OB/environmentally sensitive areas. The ground is very hard and fairway lies are EXTREMELY tight. Sand traps were hard and rocky. I was pretty neutral toward the layout as no hole was particularly memorable or visual appealing but none were objectionable either. I enjoyed the round but probably would not return at $94 for a weekend rate.

Course conditions are great except the fairways, which are incredibly dry and thin. I'm not sure if that is the result of the mini-heatwave recently but they are bad. Being in the fairway was actually worse than being in the rough as taking a solid divot was nearly impossible. My wrists were sore from trying to get through the fairways. Pace of play was FANTASTIC as my 3-some, taking our sweet time, finished in just over 4 hours and only had to wait for once shot. Always a great course to practice ball placement but they definitely need to overseed or water the fairways.

Greens are still in pretty poor shape from being punched. Only other complaint would be with how many divots were on the 16th tee box. Otherwise the course overall is in great shape!

This was my first trip back to Meadowlark since they changed management (wisely dropping American Golf). I must say WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The only lingering effects is slow play but I have a feeling that has more to do with the inexpensive green fees, mounded greens and short layout. The fairway conditions are nearly perfect! I was shocked how much this had changed and how smooth the greens were running. I would estimate a solid 11 - 12 with no bumps. The tee boxes, although not level at times, were lush with plenty of fluff to hit off. If you can tolerate a 5+ hour round then this is a good time to hit up Meadowlark.

Played Sunday on the clickforteetimes.com special. I always like this course and, other than the slow play due to a morning tournament, no major complaints (other than my game.) To note though is that the sand is a little clumpy from all the rain and they are drying out the fairways to change over to bermuda. Also, the rough is, well, ROUGH. Very thick and challenging. Overall, still decent conditions, though.

After several recommendations to play this course I must say: VERY DISAPPOINTED. Maybe it was just the day but course left much to be desired.
PACE: Tee'd off at 12:17 and didn't finish (17th hole before dark). Front 9 was 3 hours and the only reason we even got to the 17th was that 2 groups threw in the towel at the turn. On the 5th hole, there were 4 GROUPS ON THE TEE. Called the Marshals to see if they could get two two-somes in front of us to join so that we could speed things up but they refused to ask. Seems like there is no consideration for pacing here. Some of the views and the surrounding hills made for some beautiful views which made the time pass a little faster but would rather not have as much time to take it all in.
CONDITIONS: This was a mixed bag. Fairways were actually in decent shape. Greens were rolling pretty quick with just a few bumps because people refused to repair ball marks. But that was where the good stopped... tee boxes were often not level and had severe divot damage. The two sand traps I had the unfortunate pleasure to frequent were solid rock.
LAYOUT: I found the course gimmicky. From the tips it seems a bit long for a casual round (just shy of 7000 yards), but with the elevation changes, the Golds (at around 6300 yards) played even shorter than listed. Most holes were 3-wood and PW. At most I had an 8 iron into the par 4s. Three of the par 5s are reachable in two which slows things way down... the par 3s are short and forgettable. Quite a few blind landing areas so checking the GPS is a must.
VALUE: For $69, this would be a great course if you can play in less than 5 hours. However, given the pace and conditions, I would rather save the $20-$30 bucks and play a local muni.

Course conditions were disappointing. Fairways were dry with many areas under repair. Sand traps were very inconsistent, (some perfect, many like rock) which is dangerous given the number of traps on the course. Greens were running nicely but otherwise the course is in no better shape than a nicer muni course. As I have said here before, if Monarch wasn't on the OC Trail Card, I could not see paying full weekend rate to -lay here.

Played the course Friday 12/5 and this quickly became one of my favorites. Conditions were truly immaculate. Greens were quick and smooth as ice. It was tough to find a divot in the fairways. Sand was clean and without clumps. As for the layout, this course is extremely fun and rewards good ball placement off the tee. Both the design of the course as well as the surroundings are beautiful and quiet to the outside world. Also, IW has extremely nice golf carts with GPS and unlimited bottles of water included in the round! Would HIGHLY recommend playing this if given the opportunity... And if you have an OB Sport Card from any facility, weekend green fees drop to $85!

Although I really like this track I have to say it is in rough shape right now. Greens just got punched and I would estimate them being back to normal in 2-3 weeks. Fairways are VERY dry and dormant. Many burned areas down to dirt in both the fairways and rough. Several sand traps were really more like rock traps except the brand new bunkers on #18. They also seem to be doing some work on the tee boxes right now. Overall the round was still enjoyable but if you are a stickler for conditions, I would give them a few weeks to get this track back in shape.

Course is in average shape. Greens were inconsistent in that some are smooth and others bumpy. Fairways were ok. Tee boxes could use some love. As said before, layout is a little awkward on some holes but still a good value at sub-$50.

Play here often and I have to say the course is in unusually rough shape given we haven't had a particularly hot summer. Fairways are dry with several dead areas. Tee boxes have quite a few areas with severe divot damage. Greens are definitely in need of being punched. Always a fun track but it has seen better days.

Course condition right now is pretty worn. Fairways are decent but I have seen them better. Sand traps are AWFUL. I would expect this sort of sand traps at a low end muni track but not a $100+ elite course. Greens were also abnormally inconsistent. I hope they put some time in before the end of summer heat wave otherwise course will be in very poor shape.
