Played today with some old friends who had a mid morning tee time. Normally I would not join as I love to play early but not having seen these friends in some time I decided to go play. Fast check in and called to the tee right on time. Front nine went smoothly but slow played reared its ugly head on the back. We tried to speak to the group in front but was told to F off. So we called the shop demanded they send out a marshal and they did. The group got out of control with the Marshal and for the first time ever I watched a foursome removed from a golf course. We proceeded to finish in 4H 15 mins. Now on to the course. It is in some of the best shape I have ever seen it. And I have been playing it for well over 20 years. Tee boxes were excellent. Fairways green with good lies and great roll out all round. Traps were all playable and I heard no complaints and I was fortunate enough to never hit one. Greens were firm though I did repair a few divots but they would release shots that came in to hot. But they held well hit high shots nicely. And they putted fantastic. They had great speed but putts stayed on line and we all had a great round of putting. They have trimmed a lot of trees and bushes and cleaned out a lot of rough and are putting down a lot of wood chips around the course. Excellent customer service in the shop. Recommended and glad I showed up. Sr rate with County card was $38 and well worth it.

Out this morning. Course has been under going some extreme tree maintenance and it really has enhanced the look of the course. Line of site is much better on many holes. Today the course played fast and quick due to wind and dry conditions. All tee boxes were clean and playable. The traps were clean and playable. Fairways had good lies and really nice roll out. Greens were firm and speedy (around 11 all day). Never even made a ball mark nor repaired any either. Great service in the shop and with starter. Had the breakfast special and got great service from Jacob. Nice day at the golf course.

We had the first time this AM had a nice POP of 3 H. With the exception of a 10/15 sometimes 20 MPH wind from the N, all went smoothly. But it was a challenge playing into the wind on the N holes and a wild ride on those heading S. Course is in nice shape and the wind has dried out the fairways and greens making it play fast. Tee boxes all fine. Fairways had good coverage, lies and roll out. Traps were all playable and heard no issues. Greens were firm and putted in the 10 to 12 range all morning and anything downhill was heart stopping. Found very little if any rough which made the fairways nice and wide. Customer service in the shop from Glen was terrific. Sr rate with County card is $38. Of course the real issue here is the freeway. Took us 30 minutes to arrive this AM but an hour coming home using the 118/210 through Pasadena. Course is recommended.

We caught the first time out this AM. I have not played here since 2018. And yes the prices have gone way up and are now $62 for Sr and cart. No doubt having a players card for this place would be worth it. We found the course to be in great shape. No tee box issues. Fairways have great coverage and good lies but early AM the roll out is very limited with the wet/damp fairways. There is virtually no rough anywhere and what is there is playable. Traps were being cleaned in front of us and they played nice and there are many of them.
I personally had forgotten how long this course plays with the many elevation changes and the small greens. And speaking of the small greens. They are fast and firm. I never had one divot from any of my shots but I had a lot of fast putts. They have taken out the water on # 10 and # 17 on the course and I personally thing that that ruined those nice short par 3's. Customer service was fast and pleasant in the shop and from the starter as well. I really like this course and I will come back but will wait till spring time when it is warmer and drier for my return. But I would be fairly certain the course would play great later in the day and temperatures being higher if one prefers to play that time of the day.

Played yesterday AM. Not much to add to previous post other than the traps were clean and playable for us and heard no complaints. Nick the greenskeeper has the greens in great shape. Too bad we are losing him to Montebello Top Golf shortly. Hope Troon has a good replacement in mind. And Oscar who is in the maintenance team is always fun to talk with as he goes about setting up the tee boxes and pins on Sunday. Always great customer service on Thursdays and Sundays from Dillon and Julia in the shop and Rich who takes care of the cart barn. I also recommend.

Played yesterday. Course is in great shape. Fast and firm with the recent winds and dry weather. Tee boxes just fine. Fairways had good lies and very nice roll out. Traps were all playable. Rough was not a factor as it was all playable. Greens were fast and might have been rolling at about 12 and made for a fun putting day with $$ on the line (no gimmees today). Great customer service at all levels from all staff.

We took the drive out yesterday RT is 100 miles and we found the course in great shape as the previous post stated. We went early as we know not to play out there in the afternoon with the winds and facing traffic coming home. We had not played out in here in over 5 years and glad we finally made it back. Nice tee boxes on all holes. Fairways had good coverage and gave good lies and really nice roll out. Rough was up but not penal and we avoided all water hazards. Traps played really well. Greens were in great shape when it came to holding and releasing shots and chipped/putted great all round. We avoided any wind which made the round even more enjoyable. Customer service was excellent at all levels. We did eat aftewards and concur with previous post that the food was good but I can't say it is "one of the best" golf course restaurant in S CA. I would recommend it if you don't mind driving a bit and especially for the GKers who live out that way.

Happy Thanksgiving all. Got out first this AM and played a nice round in 2 H (riding of course). First time I did not encounter any back 9 players when making the turn. Course is in really nice shape at the moment. Nice tee boxes. Good fairways with good coverage lies, and roll out. Traps are playable but need a good turning IMO. No rough to really deal with. Greens are in nice shape holding shots and chipping/putting. Great customer service from Luke and Julia in the shop.

Played this AM. While the course was damp from overnight rains it still played very well. No tee box issues. Fairways were still damp but still had good lies and a fair amount of roll out. Bunkers were all clean and playable and in much better condition than previous rounds. Not much rough and what is there is playable although damp in the early AM. Greens had been mowed and held shots and even released some and also chipped/putted with good speed. Excellent customer service from Dillon and Julia in the shop and from Rich running the cart barn.

Played this AM. Course was vacant as most must have thought it would rain. We did 18 in 2.5 H and another 9 in 1H. Course was not even affected by the rain. It soaked it up like you would think it never rained yesterday. Tee boxes fine. Fairways good lies and great roll out. Rough was still damp but playable. Bunkers were all clean and no issues. Greens were mowed in front of us and chipped and putted great all round (five birdies for the first time ever). Love the new carts and Pace GPS system they just put into play. Great customer service from Patrick in the shop and Tomi in the restaurant.

Played today as first off. POP 3 H. Have not played here in perhaps 2 years after a bad experience. That was not the case today. Excellent customer service on check in and $35 Sr rate. Course is in really nice shape. All good tee boxes. Good coverage, lies and roll out on the fairways. Greens were outstanding and fast. Only negative was the traps had not been raked or attended to. As many know this course is really different from what most of us are use to. But a little local knowledge and thinking can really make playing here enjoyable. If you score well on the front you can play conservative on the back and still have a good round (which I did). The one negative I really faced today was some of the holes I use to reach in regulation are not reachable that way anymore (LOL) due to the elevation changes on the back 9. Oh well thats life and at least I am still playing and that beats the alternative. If you are able to get a tee time I recommend playing here. And the food in the clubhouse restaurant upstairs was reasonable in price and service was excellent.

Played this AM. Cool to start but warmed up nicely. They have the course in good shape after aeration. Tee boxes are all playable. Traps are all playable. Fairways have good coverage but you need precision as the grass is shorter vs being lush so hybrids are excellent tools to have with you. Greens have all returned in nice shape and will hold shots, release shots and chip/putt with about a speed of 10 and much quicker on downhillers. They have kept the rough to a minimum the closer you are to the greens and farther out a little higher but you are still able to find the ball and advance. And for those who have never played here there are various OB, small canyons and water to avoid as well. Customer service was OK but pro shop was late in opening and that did cause some back up checking in. Took the Sr rate + $6 breakfast voucher and the bill for 3 of us after vouchers were cleared came to $6 (coffees) and each of us ordered the same $14 breakfast dish.
