Played on a Thursday, teeing off around 930. Course is in great shape from tee to green. The greens were a little spongy but you had to still hit a solid shot to have it hold the green. They were medium fast and were rolling very true. Great fairway coverage and the rough was thick enough to cause you issue if you were in it. Bunkers were nice and all the service was fantastic from the check in to drinks with Katie in the bar afterwards. Well worth my 63 buck rate.

Had the opportunity to play a round with Mark, Johnny, and Gary at Guru round at the legends. The course is in much better shape than it was about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Everything was green, grown in, and in great shape. My only complaint was the consistency of the bunkers. Some were thin and firm and some fluffy and it was hard to judge which it was. Course in great shape from tee boxes to fairways to greens-all great and in good shape and the cart girl saw us at least three times. Fun to play this track, as most of my rounds out here recently have been on the champions course. Fair and long and lots of wind but this course is always a treat to play, especially when it is in as good a shape as it is now.

Thanks Johnny for the great opportunity.

Played on Sunday, two day out of overseeding, so, it was definitely playable and still really fun, but I would wait a few weeks for the greens to completely heal and the overseed to finish taking and the course to dry out.

Great track and love the layout. All the customer service was top notch and from parking to leaving, not many courses around do what the Journey does. I loved the day, weather was perfect, but course was very wet and greens still not healed and overseeding still affecting the fairways, rough, and tee boxes. Well worth what we paid, but it was not rack rate, so all good for our group.

Cant say enough good things about this place. The layout is fun and all 3 nines are vastly different and at least two of them are easy to walk and fun to play. The greens were slower than normal but in great shape. The rest of the course is in great shape even with the heat out here. Well worth the greens fee and always plays at a great pace of play.

You should get out here and play.

This course is fantastic, especially when figuring the value. $28 to walk on a Sunday afternoon. Course is in great shape, greens were medium speed but in great shape and rolled great. Fairways and rough in great shape and no bare spots really and the rough could be punitive. Sand was in good to great shape and service was great, from check in to beers after the round. Highly recommended if you can play this course. Classic Billy Bell Design.

Played on monday the 9th. I would avoid this course right now, three greens punched and sanded, areas of the rough in bad shape with very spotty coverage, granted it is the rough, but the areas were close to greens and areas that should be much better. Sand was great and service great across the board. Tee boxes ok and mostly level. I just have high expectations for a course priced like this and don’t expect sanded greens and spotty conditions

Played on Saturday afternoon. Very slow but kind of expected on a sat. Afternoon. Greens a little beat up but rolled nicely still. Fairways and rough very good and sand good. JC golf not my favorite but service here usually very good and yesterday was the same. Enjoyed the round and course.

Played the Beach Resort on the 13th in some nice windy conditions. The Kings course is not yet reopened for play but will be opening 9 holes soon, probably by the end of this month or next. Course was really wide and open, which with the wind we had, was a welcome relief. Some really fun doglegs and the course was designed with the wind in mind, so if you get lucky and don't have wind, you could score out here. This course was in the worst shape of any we played but it was still fantastic compared to most courses. Fun track that runs through the Waikoloa area and lots of condo complexes but still has some great holes on the ocean. Nice clubhouse restaurant and great service and great range. Had a blast on this track because it was so open and played much easier than the others we played. The only thing was some of the tee boxes had some divot damage and were a little unlevel, but always had somewhere to put your peg that was great. Well worth the fee on golf now.

Got out to Kona Country Club on the 16th of July. Hardest greens on the island and easily the fastest we played on our trip. They no longer have the other course and the Ocean course is the only 18 now here, but it is great. The greens were super fast and had more slope on them than anything I can remember playing, anywhere. Made for a challenge putting them, especially adjusting to the speed. Great layout with a few holes on the water and we got a great 76 dollar rate through golf now. IF YOU PLAY ON THE BIG ISLAND, CHECK GOLF NOW BEFORE YOU PAY THE RACK RATES! Anyway, the rest of the course was in great shape but not as good as Mauna Kea or Hapuna or Mauna Lani, but the course is more challenging IMO. Well worth the time to play this but it is way closer to downtown Kona than the out lying resorts to the north.

Played this course on the 13th of July. Great layout and really fun track with some great holes along the ocean. One of the most well known par threes anywhere where you hit over the ocean to the hole but not quite as cool as the one at Mauna Lani South, IMO. Greens were not nearly as good as its sister course, Hapuna, but still really nice but rolled slower and had more grain. Rest of the course is super and in perfect shape, from the rough to the Sand, nothing wrong anywhere. Really fun layout and had some definite challenge and some great elevation change. This course was really fun and worth the splurge.

Played out here on Sunday the 18th and it is in spectacular shape. Best greens on the island if not the fastest. Thought they were fake at first glance. We got a great deal through golf now and played it for just over 100 bucks, well worth it. Fairways, rough, sand, was all great with no bad lie on the property and the layout, while not on the water, is great and was really fun with some great holes and we were lucky to not have a ton of wind. I imagine that would make this course really hard. Definite play along with Mauna Kea if you are on the big island but use golf now, always had a hot deal available.

Had a 715 tee time yesterday and the course is in good shape right now. Fairways, greens, and Rough all in good to great shape with the greens rolling great and were still smooth this early in the AM. Still took 4+ hours and we were the 6th or so group off. People are so slow. Traps were in great shape but still no rakes. I think the only problem today was the tee boxes. They are starting to have some that are getting very unlevel, especially where they put the markers. They will need to address this sooner than later.
Great day and course is in good shape.
