Walked on as a single yesterday around 11:30 and it was busy as usual, but somehow I got right out! all staff was great, starter, proshop, beverage cart 3 times. Everything in really good shape except for the greens. Very slow and bumpy from recent aeration. Hit your putt and pray type of day. Fairways were darn near perfect. Not much rough. Bunkers were fine, although people aren't raking them!!! Teeboxes were all great. Had a fun time despite the greens. $37 to walk is always worth it.

Played Saturday, March 26. I called the course around noon and they said they had an opening at 1:45 so I went on out. Got there around 1pm and put my name in and waited at the bar for about 40mins and then went out at the scheduled 1:45 teetime. Joined Tim and his son Justin and another single Josh (who was in a horrific car accident about 8yrs ago and plays with only his right arm, his left is paralized.) all great guys and enjoyed their company. $28 to walk on a Saturday afternoon is well worth it. Course is in all around playable shape right now, no huge complaints on anything. Nothing is super "stellar", but very good value.

Greens were all good. Held shots well and didn't have too many ball marks. They were a little on the slow side, they looked faster than they putted. Everyone leaving it short all day.

Fairways were all in pretty good shape. I hit every fairway and didn't have any bad lies, so all good. Rough didn't look to be too penal, it's only about an inch or so longer than the fairways and even around the greens wasn't too penal.

I didn't find any sand traps, but they looked ok and I didn't hear any complaints from my playing partners.

Black teeboxes were in ok shape, no issues. They weren't perfect, but it was fairly easy to find a good spot to tee it up.

Service was great all around. Ben in the proshop was great. Bartender inside was awesome, very friendly and accommodating. Saw the beverage cart once, but didn't get anything, she seemed nice. Starter and cart attendant were also great.

Overall a nice day. POP could have been a little better on the back nine, but it was packed, tons of people. We finished in just over 5hrs, so it was a little brutal, but just put on some patience and went with the slow flow. To be expected on a busy Saturday. I'd recommend for a good value and a fun layout. If they put some money into this place, it could be a great track.

Played Sunday, 2/27. A buddy of mine gets free rounds out here and glad I didn't pay. They are still using only 9holes and everything is dead except for the greens and some of the tees. They paint the fairways and teeboxes green to make it look ok. Very thin lies all around, they aren't watering hardly anything except for the greens. The greens were ok, they were very fast and rolled fine. The bunkers were exceptional, nice white sand and perfect bounce. Apart from the greens and bunkers, everything else is dormant/dead. Customer service was great, saw the beverage cart a couple of times and the snack bar people were all good. I wouldn't recommend playing right now unless you can get a great deal like I did.

Played on Saturday, 2/26 with some nice guys from a Facebook group I'm involved with. Beautiful day, teed off at 10:30am, POP was just fine, 4.5hrs. Course is in good shape overall. Nothing outstanding, but everything was very playable. Greens were fast and smooth. They held shots well. No problems in the fairways, had good lies all day. Blue tees were just fine, a little chewed up, but they were level. I didn't find any bunkers, but they looked ok and I didn't hear any complaints from my playing partners. Customer service is no frills and to the point. No beverage cart, but the snack bar is always good. $60 resident rate to ride on a Saturday is worth it. I Always enjoy playing this course.

Great time at this unbelievable course. Nothing to add to the group's stellar reviews, all spot on.

Johnny, you are awesome for putting these outings together. Lots of hard work, but gosh it is a blast. I will be back to this course for sure!!! thanks for everything and thanks to all the awesome people in this group.

The previous reviews are all excellent and fitting. Nothing else to add as far as course conditions, layout, etc.

I do want to express my appreciation to Johnny and all the fellow Gkers. We had a great time!! We were the slower group out there as we have a couple of novice golfers and we really were just enjoying our weekend getaway with great friends (enjoying some cocktails, as well). Fun course with great people!! Thanks again.

Played yesterday, Jan 24, 11:30 teetime. A friend booked online a couple of weeks ago so we paid the $18 advance teetime fee. Green fee was $42 to walk, so $60 total isn't really a good deal, but it's about the only way to get a secured tee time.

No problems with check in, staff is always nice and efficient. POP was right at 4hrs, which is awesome. Definitely seems to move faster during a weekday rather than the weekend when I usually play.

Course is in pretty darn good shape, some of the best shape I've seen it for a long time. No problems with just about every aspect of the course. Teeboxes were nice and level with very minimal divot damage. Fairways were great, never had a bad lie all day. They had good cushion with adequate rollout. Found two bunkers and they were fantastic. Great sand, fluffy with good base. Rough wasn't too penal, it was only about an inch longer than the fairways and it was on the "clumpy" side, so some areas were longer and some areas were bare/short. Greens were great. They held shots very well and rolled at a great pace. Downhillers were definitely quick!! Great time as always, highly recommend right now.

Played on New Year's Day, 1/1/2022 and wow what a great way to start the year. I don't recall ever being able to play on New Year's day in the past, so this was extra special. The course is absolutely gorgeous everywhere you look. Check in was very easy, from bag drop to the starter. Everyone was courteous and helpful. ~$150 for green fee is steep for me, but hey, gotta do it every once in a while. Everything was 9/10 condition wise. Teeboxes all level with very minimal divot damage on the par 3s. Fairways were perfect, carpet-like, good cushion and good roll. Found two bunkers and they were excellent. Rough was not too penal, but just long enough to make you think and make sure you make good downward contact with a little extra strong grip. Greens were very good, just shy of being perfect. They were a little firm, so mid to long irons did have a little rollout on the greens. The layout is simply stunning and the views of the mountains on many holes were spectacular. Hiighly recommend if you can get out there!!

Played twilight round at 1pm on 12/31, sorry for the late review. We reserved teetimes on their website the day before, I believe they use EZLinks. What a pain in the rear!! We made two times for a total of 7 of us, 1:10pm and 1:20pm. When we arrived, they didn't have record of our 1:20 teetime and we prepaid and there's transaction proof billed to our credit card, $41ea and the 1:20 time was for the threesome. So the 1:10 billed properly at $164 total, but the course didn't have record of our 1:20 which was billed to our card for $123. Oh well, my brother paid the $123 and we are disputing the credit card bill. Proshop was nice enough to honor the $41ea twilight rate and they worked us in. Hats off to the guys outside all around, cart guys and starters were all magnificent!!! One more frutstrating thing is that since I was having some problems with my EZLinks account, I called the proshop and they wouldn't honor the $41 twilight rate, I HAD TO book online for this rate, pretty much a joke policy if you ask me.

The course is in pretty good shape, worth the $41 rate in my opinion. Nothing was super outstanding, but everything is so overpriced right now in the desert, so I think this was the proper value play. Fairways were often very wet, but otherwise had great lies. I did take two free drops for casual water. Teeboxes were level, but had quite a bit of divot damage all around. Not a huge issue, just took an extra minute to find a good spot. Greens were pretty nice. Held shots very well!! and putted rather smooth. Definitely the highlight. Rough seemed pretty tame, not very deep, although I hit every fairway and only missed two greens, so maybe it was just the way I was playing. Didn't hit into any bunkers, so can't speak to those, but they looked just fine. Overall, we had a good time other than the weird check in at the proshop. I'd recommend, it's a fun track.

Snuck out yesterday, 12/13, for twilight 1:30pm as a single. Called over there and Mike the starter said he had an opening for a single, so I went on over. We played the front nine in 2.25hrs, but that was acceptable for this muni as it generally plays slow. I played 12 holes before darkness was really setting in and rain was imminent.

Everything is very playable right now. Nothing outstanding, but nothing deplorable. Teeboxes were all level with pretty good coverage. Normal divot damage on the par3's, but all other teeboxes had great coverage.

Fairways were good to great. Offered some good rollout and had great coverage, hardly any brown/bare spots that I could tell. I hit every fairway and never had a bad lie.

Didn't see the rough, but it looked manageable, cut down fairly short and wasn't punishing around the greens. Didn't hit any bunkers, but they looked nice and my playing partners had no problems getting out of the few they were in. One guy did have a fried egg buried lie on one of the upslopes on the greenside bunker on number 10.

Greens were good to very good! Held shots perfectly, very soft, and short irons backed up 5-10FT, which was fun. They putted smooth and good pace, fairly quick.

Customer service all great as usual. Beverage cart came around 3 times. Always recommend if you can get out here as it's nearly impossible to get a tee time.

Little late on the review, played Friday 11/26. Check in was easy. Teetime 11:39am and they weren't charging holiday/weekend rates, so $20 to walk was a steal!! Overall conditions are very playable, POP was 4.5hrs, but it would always be better if you didn't have to wait on 6 teebox for at least 20mins every d%mn time!!!

Teeboxes were good for the most part. We played the whites and they were level with good coverage, no issues.

Rough was cut down fairly low as far as I could tell, I was only in it a few times as I hit a lot of fairways and greens that day.

I didn't find any bunkers, but they looked all good and didn't hear any complaints from my buddies.

Greens were the only downside on the course right now. About 30% of them have some sort of issues going on. Bare patches and bumpiness is common on about 30% of the greens. And it's random, no rhyme or reason to it. They held shots well, but very difficult to find a putt that didn't get bumped offline. They seem better than last review indicated, so perhaps signs that they are getting better, but definitely hindered some putting performance.

No beverage cart/service, but the snack bar is great. Even though the greens are somewhat of an issue, still recommend right now.

Played Sat, Nov 20, 7:20am. Found a last minute single open on their website Friday afternoon so I booked it. $40 to walk, very fair for non-Oceanside resident. Played with the Baker family, dad and his two grown sons. Great guys.

Excellent POP at 4hrs!! usually POP is somewhat of a concern here, but not this past Saturday morning.

Blue teeboxes were in OK/fair shape. Pretty chewed up and not super level. Had to take a minute or so to find a good spot, but some spots were available, not a deal breaker by any means. They punched them a little while ago and it still shows.

Found one greenside bunker and it was just fine. Good amount of sand, no complaints.

Fairways were fair to good for the most part. Didn't have any bad lies, but they weren't perfect by any means. Good cushion and roll out was just fine. No huge complaints.

Not much rough to consider, it's cut down pretty short and if you miss the fairway by more than 10yds, you're in the decomposed granite/dirt.

Greens were absolutely the best part of the course. They were darn near perfect. Held shots very well. Putted very smooth and fast. About the best that I've ever seen the greens.

Check in was easy, paid online so told the pro shop I was there and off I went. Beverage cart was around 3 times, great $6 deal for 24oz can of Pacifico/Corona/Modelo!!! This is what courses should do more often, don't gouge people for beers, please. Have something on special, for crying out loud.

I generally always recommend this course. Fun layout, fair price and generally acceptable conditions. With the greens they are right now, definitely get out there.
