Got in a final round at The Claw. Course closing for good this month as USF Golf team moves on. Long overdue as everything is dilapidated from carts to Clubhouse. Easy walking course with no attention to conditions since covid.

Out early Sunday so pace was 3.5 hrs. No rain recently means dried out course. More so around greens' chipping areas. Green slow.
Good variety of holes with many on the "median" bordered by 2 streets in residential area. Bunkers have nice sand. Teeboxes level but no grass
Pro shop guy very good to squeeze us out.
Best of the 3 city courses

Out early Easter to get home. Greens good shape but slow with rains.
Fairways dry, burned out around greens.
Still a fun course. Penny in pro shot a delight.

Solid round at great course. Conditions fine. Course has rare elevation changes for SF.
However...
Course will no longer exist in its current iteration. Both courses have been taken over by the Bandon Dunes group as of June 22. Complex will be closed for redo for about a year. Simple old school proshop/snack bar will turn in big deal destination place. Weddings. On site lodging. You get the picture: prices jacked up. My 3 year discount card no longer in play.

Ran out this am to most popular Tampa layout.

Pristine conditions. Greens superb. All green all around. Humidity typical July-Aug open oven.

Can't beat this layout along with sister course for challenge, elevation changes. Prices at rock bottom compared to prime winter season $32-$119. Will join membership card to get break in winter rates.

As rumored- course is closing down end of May for " renovations". Hundreds of trees will be taken out, clubhouse will be torn down & rebuilt. Word is this Donny Ross course will convert from semi-private to private.

Oddly, they just redid all bunkers last year. Sorry to see it go.

Finally made it out to the 3rd of 3 Tampa City courses- The Babe & Rogers Park being the other two.
This is the red-headed stepchild. Flat, you can stand on 3rd tee and see entire course.
Ponds/lakes pretty much dry- ducks walking around looking lost. Fairways burned out- tough to hit a 3wood off dirt.
P3's short including one for 100yds- just a flat green. Lousy.
If the water was in there are a few holes where you have narrow landing area's so that is interesting.
Greens by far the best part of the course- condition-wise and reading-wise.
Easy walking course.
Better courses to play than this. Just a check-off
