Played here Sat 1/11 with my monthly mens club. They always treat us great here and this time was no exception. They set us up with a shotgun start,include range balls and lunch.
The staff was very organized and friendly all around.
The course conditions were in very good. Tee boxes good and not too beat up.
Fairways were super green and lush. I saw a couple of dry spots but no bare dirt.
Rough is only about 1 1/2” and not too hard to get out of.
The only thing that needs attention are some of the bunkers. A few were a little thin but still playable.
The greens and a few too many unrepaired ball marks but still putted fine. They held shots well.
Overall a great day in Palm Springs with blue skies snow on the mountains and barely any wind. I did notice that the wind was really blowing on the way home once I got to the windmills.
There are some restored WW2 planes flying out of the airport there and they were fun to watch.

I cant believe that the last "Review" for this Course was back on Jan 19 2019. My buddie and I jumped on the "underpar" voucher and played this Course yesterday. OMG, this Course was in fantastic shape. Greens perfect but tough to read, Tee Boxes level fair to great shape. Fairways in great shape and Customer Service at check in was absolutely fantastic. Cart personal was great as well and very helpful. The only little draw back was the Starter on the first tee box. He needed to be just a little bit more friendly, you know like your happy to be there instead of the Grumpy mood he was in. All around I highly recommended this Course to be played. The pro shop check in girl (Lyndia) at Check in said that we would NOT be disappointed, she was right' We weren't. There you are Gkers " Know before you go"

Played Sat 1-12 with my monthly mens group. We had a 8:30 shotgun start and everything went off on time. It was cool and raining lightly when we started but by about the 4th hole the rain let up and eventually made way for a sunny day. It did cloud up and rain lightly after we were finished.
The course is in very good condition. Tee boxes are good with just some of the par 3's showing some divot damage.

The fairways were next to perfect! Lush-green and very nice to play from. There was an occasional wet spot due to the overnight rain but nothing serious.

The only knock would be the bunkers. They had ample sand but there are lots of small rocks mixed in. With the new rule change you can now move them so it makes for easier shots out.

The greens are in very good condition with almost no old ball marks to deal with. They rolled medium quick and held shots very well.

No cart on this day but there was not many other players besides our group on the course.
Had lunch after and everyone was pleased with the food and the great service.
Overall a very nice way to start 2019.

Rode the Blacks (6782/71.6/122) as a single in 3H, 15M twilight. The weather was clear, windy and in the low 100's. The Bermuda tees, fairways and rough all have good coverage. Semi lush with a few brown/thin areas due to the heat. All are mowed down close. The traps had decent sand, but contain too many rocks and unraked areas. The Bermuda greens were firm and putted medium speed with few ball marks. A few are beginning to get crusty with the heat. The customer service was good, quick efficient check-in. All grass driving range. Plenty of water stations on the course. No drink cart or Marshall, I only saw a few other groups playing this afternoon. GPS on the basic carts to the front/middle/back of the green and tips to hazards. Cimarron is reasonably wide open, flat with few forced carries and not overly tough for the average golfer. I enjoy this course as a change of pace, a solid mid level alternative for the Palm Springs area that is usually in decent shape. Recommended.

Played here 8/18/18 with a 6:32 tee time. Was supposed to play with a friend but he got hurt so I drove out and played as a single. One group was ahead of me and let me play through when i caught them on #3. Pace of Play for me was 2 hr 15 min! Fairways are smooth and green with a few dry spots scattered around, greens are beautiful and hold your ball perfectly. Very slow greens on the front and faster on the back. Tee boxes were hit and miss. Some were perfect others needed some attention. Was in 2 sand traps and they were pretty compact. Im sure the course has trouble keeping fluffy sand in the traps with the high winds out there all the time. Staff was extremely friendly and I loved playing this course. It's not very challenging but it's a fun design.

Adding 450 yards from the Blues I normally play in a consistent 1-2 club wind significantly adds to the challenge. Mark and Keith's reviews from Saturday are spot on. Cimarron is reasonably wide open, flat with few forced carries, not overly tough for the average golfer. Not much to add to sixpez's review. Amazing deal from Under Par to play two rounds for under $20 each. Pretty fun course.

Conditions are mixed, but mostly good. Most greens were smooth and medium slow. 1, 2, 11 & 14 look like something is wrong with them, and all around the perimeter of 14 is also pretty beat up. The rest of the greens were good, although a bit inconsistent. Medium softness; full shots stopped quickly. Fairways were really nice except for a few bare spots here and there. Rough might be the best part of the course: lush in most spots and especially fantastic around most green complexes. I was only in two fairway bunkers and they were terrible, filled with rocks. Blue tee box turf was all in good condition but a few are slightly domed.

I'll likely see ya again next year, Cimarron. Using that UP voucher has become a fun annual tradition four years running now for me.

Played 36 on the Boulder course today with Itslikeimsayin. One review. It's kind of become an annual tradition because Underpar always puts out the killer deal of $39 total for two players with a same-day replay. We teed off our first round at 6:24 with a single who left after about 11 holes. First round approx. 3 hours and then slower during the second round, but still around 4 hours for that round. The course was in pretty nice pre-summer shape from tee to green. Tee boxes were good, though a few are a bit unlevel. Fairways nice and lush for the most part with some scattered thin/brown/bare patches. Rough nicely kept with some weak spots, too, cut low and very enjoyable to hit from with the ball sitting up. Rough was generally very nice around the greens, as well. Mark encountered a gravel pit in the right fairway bunker of the first hole, and I had a lot of pebbles in the greenside bunker of that same hole. However, the rest of the bunkers I was in had good sand. The greens were bit all over the place, especially as they were watered early, dried out and watered again as we played two rounds. Speeds tended to vary from hole to hole. There were a few greens (especially holes 1-2) that were really beat up and burnt out. Then, the majority were fine, rolling anywhere from dreadfully slow to medium (usually when you're not expecting it to run out on you). Like I said, really varied based on wetness/dryness, thin-ness, etc. of any given green. They are aerating the greens next week, so they'll be transitioning to the summer turf soon enough and that will probably help overall. I kind of have a soft spot for this course because we play it every year with this great deal and now it's very close to home for me. It's not a destination course, but it's a solid enough round of golf. Very forgiving layout and I'd say generally above average conditions, especially in relation to the deals they offer throughout the late spring and summer months.

Wind WIND WWIINNDD!! What's the point of golfing here as the wind takes it to a place that does not make this course fun. The six or so holes that your back is to the wind does not make up for it. Warrior...Ugh! If I travel out to the Palm Springs area, I want great golf, this is not that. This course is the equivalent to really good Orange County golf (excluding the wind). So, what's the point of traveling out there? I couldn't tell you. So a course review is near irrelevant, but here's a quick one. Tees: Ok, level enough. Lots of divots and browning in areas. Fairways: Nothing special, browning in areas. Fairways - first & second cut, the best areas of the course. Greens: Odd, some bumps, kind of true lines. Browning, but usually true to the rest of the greens. They held high wedge shots, but beware of high wedge shots getting moved by the wind. The wind actually affected the end of your putt, pushing a foot to three or more. Sand in Bunkers: Consistently mixed, some raked, some were not. Some people raked after themselves, some did not. The top inch was loose moist sand and then it was really nice under one inch; not moist, not wet and not dry, but they were consistent. There are barely any trees throughout the middle of the course, some may have been on the outskirts and the "nature" areas. POP = 4.5+ Best way to relate playing conditions: Hole 17 - Par 3 (114 from Whites). I thought I'd make up six yards with my 9iron - my 9i is 120yds. I teed it up, hit it perfect, the wind blew it back to 50 yards from the tee (into the lake - it was heading right back to me). So there's two strokes including the drop. I teed up again with a 6iron, with a little more than a half swing stinger to the gree. It's a guessing game. Lame! I had four perfect "Land-speeder" drives off of the tee to barely make to the fairway and I got one to five feet of vertical on each of these four drives. Low trajectory "Land-speeder" drives were the best option into the wind. I did not enjoy myself. I guess this is why the Westin, Hilton and Desert Willow with many of the other nice courses have walls, trees and buildings around much of the course(s).
