Early Sunday morning round in under four hours. First time here and noticed a lot of construction going on around the course. We were told that a substantial amount of money was being put into the course and new clubhouse. The staff was helpful and friendly. The tees all had good coverage and were level. The fairways had excellent coverage as well with only a couple dry places to be seen the entire round. I will say the grounds crew was putting a good amount of water on the course as many places throughout the round were quite soft, squishy and spongy. The rough was 2-4 inches long and allowed you to make good contact. The traps were all filled with good sand and most were very well groomed. The greens were rolling at a medium pace. The recent maintenance on the greens was still visible but did not affect the line on your putts. The amount of water features on the course was the most surprising part of the round. The course is set up nicely for the big bombers and the less experienced golfers. I highly recommend a round or two if you've not played here yet.

Rode the Blues (6313/70.6/129) in 3H, 30M twilight with Chris. The weather was clear and around 105 with a little breeze. Excellent customer service as always. Quick, efficient check-in, friendly starter and Marshall, cart gal out making the rounds. The cart staff here is second to none from when you arrive to when you leave. Plenty of water stations on the course and complementary bottled water is included on your cart. All grass range is included in your fee and the carts have nice GPS. The tees were mostly lush/level and nice to play from. The fairways were lush and play firm, nice to play from. The rough is lush and mowed low. Not penal, playing longer clubs is a viable option. The sand traps have fine, good quality sand. Nicely maintained, but some greenside traps were thinner than I would prefer. The many waste bunkers are firmer and less maintained. The large Bermuda greens putted medium fast, smooth for Bermuda and are very firm. Few ball marks but because of the firmness, everything runs out. Beautiful, fun Palmer layout featuring plentiful, large, deep sand traps, wide fairways and huge greens. Several lakes and numerous other holes with lateral water hazards that come promiently into play. One of my favorite courses in the Palm Springs area, Definitely recommended.

Rode the Blues (6313/70.6/129) in 4H, 20M mid morning with Barb and Jeff. The weather was clear and around 100 with a little breeze. Beautiful, fun course layout featuring wide fairways, plentiful, large, deep sand traps and huge greens. Several lakes and numerous other holes with lateral water hazards that come promiently into play. The tees were mostly lush, level and nice to play from. The fairways are lush and play firm, nice to play from. The rough is lush and mowed to a height that even playing longer cl;ubs is a viable option. The traps were nicely maintained with fine, good quality sand. The firm Bermuda greens putted nice. Medium fast, few ball marks but because of the firmness, everything ran out. Excellent customer service here every visit. Quick, efficient check-in, cart gal out making the round, friendly starter and Marshall. One of my favorite courses in the Palm Springs area, highly recommended.

SilverRock offers many tee shots that are nicely camouflaged with a large amount of both fairway and green side traps. Numerous driving areas appear tight. However, this is not a tight course overall with generous fairway landing areas for the most part once you get around bends and look back at the tee.

The tees were lush and well maintained. Only the par 3's needed divot repair.

The fairways were lush, with a few brownish spots from the heat here and there. Nicely maintained and good to play from.

Same for the rough, mowed low and nicely maintained.

The sand traps were in excellent condition. Good quality sand that was thick and plentiful. Tough to play from with large lips and long carries if you short sided yourself.

The greens are hard, not firm in the heat and the wind. Smooth, medium fast and even well struck irons would release a good amount.

The customer service was outstanding as always here. From the complimentary range balls all the way to the cart guy cleaning your clubs after the round. Cart gal out making the rounds. One of my favorite layouts in the Palm Springs area. It is away from any houses with a decent amount of lakes, canals and native areas to keep things interesting. Definitely recommended.

Rode the Blues (6313/70.6/129) in 4H, 15M twilight with Mark, Janet and Brent. The weather was clear, fairly calm and around 95. The tees were lush and well maintained. Level with few divots. The fairways were lush, mowed down close and played firm. Nicely maintained and good to play from. The rough close to the fairways was overseeded and is very lush. Farther away from the fairways is Bermuda coming out of dormancy. The sand traps were in excellent condition with a generous amount of fine grain sand. These traps are tough to play from with large lips and potential long carries. The large greens have a decent amount of contour/slope. They are very firm, putted medium fast and were smooth. Even high, well struck irons would have alot of run out. SilverRock is a fun & pretty layout. The customer service is always excellent here. Drink cart out making the rounds. All grass range included in your fee and the carts have nice GPS. Good restaurant onsite. Highly recommended.

I played the combo blue/white course twice this week, and the course plays longer than 6000 yards from this set of tees due to some serious hazard carries here and there, and several shortish par 4s that really tempt you but are very well protected. There is a lot of water, for any course let alone one in the desert, and the other principal feature is enormous bunkers, like everywhere. The fairways are wide but well bunkered and there are a fair amount of waste areas not difficult to find. Second shots are at a premium: good drives still leave you with very challenging approaches. Number 7 is a very long par 5 with a very difficult second or third shot (or both) over water—one of the best designed holes I ever have played, could take a long time to figure it out and one needs three excellent shots to reach the green in regulation. The short par 4s all are challenging, again especially on the second shot. The greens are, mercifully, not too undulating and thus a good approach and a good chip are rewarded, no tricks around or on the greens. The course also features one of the strangest par 3s I ever have seen, #11, not exactly over water but water runs all along the left side of a non-existent approach area with nothing but a waste area hill sloping up to the right from the water, you can barely see the green at all from the tee box—it’s kinda fun and pretty at the green with water around it, but it’s also weird, looks forced, I guess part of the redesign done to make room for a hotel basically in the middle of the back nine. The course has a fantastic practice area, huge grass range with good target distances and a large pretty flat practice putting green and a separate large chipping green and huge practice bunker. Range balls included in fair rack price. Overall course condition is excellent, but rough around a lot of edges due to work being done all over, especially on the back nine where a lot of landscaping is disrupted by the planned hotel and it leaves a ragged impression. Staff was very welcoming and efficient from the bag drop to the pro shop to the cart area. Lots of people in the restaurant, some clearly not golfing, so it must be good. Beverage cart seen 4 times a round. Pace of play in foursome both days was perfect—10 minutes between tee times meant two weekday rounds in a foursome with another both in front and behind (both days busy) that each took just over 4 hours, almost never waited to hit and basically never saw the group behind us either. Still, overall I have mixed emotions; I would play again for sure, but probably as a fallback when the location is convenient and other area courses are full. I would go here to practice anytime, possibly the overall best practice area I ever have seen. (I love a large relatively flat practice putting green. Why are so many so undulating? And it mimics the courses greens very well.)

First time I have ever been offered a "wind check" because they were afraid people were going to be injured by flying debris. So I have a future twilight round. Good call on their part IMO. How strong was the wind? One of my playing partners drove the par 4 5th hole green from the Blues, which were back. Balls would blow off the tee on the tee box. We finally caught my partners hat with a cart about 250 yards down the fairway from where it blew off his head. The tees were nicely maintained. Lush with only the par 3's needing divot repair. The fairways were good to play from. Lush, nicely maintained. The rough close to the fairways and around the greens is over seeded and lush. The dormant Bermuda rough farther off the fairways is more questionable. The sand traps were nicely maintained with a decent amount of good quality sand when we started. The large greens were firm and putted medium fast speed. Smooth except for all the pitch marks. SilverRock is a fun & pretty layout. All grass driving range is included in your fee. Good restaurant onsite. The customer service was excellent from everyone as always here. Drink cart out making the rounds. Good GPS on the carts. Not a course to walk as many tees are well spread out from the last green. Highly recommended.

Close to the fairways and around the greens is over seeded and emerald green. The Bermuda rough around the tees and farther off the fairways is dormant tan. The sand traps were nicely maintained with a decent amount of good quality sand. The large greens were firm and putted medium speed. Smooth except for all the pitch marks.
