Played the golds on 9/4/21 at 9:40, low humidity, slight breezes, starting temp about 92 & finishing at about 110. 3 pilgrims(myself, co-worker Gil and his brother Dan) made our trek down to meet Nickesquire, to take advantage of a hard to beat GM voucher. It wasn't hard to recruit fellow golfers when it works out to $25 each! Nice service, they met us in the lot to provide your cart at your vehicle, and give instructions to the pro shop and straight forward practice facilities. Check in was courteous and quick, they informed that there's no drink cart today, and to see the stocked snack bar for hydration and nutrition. They also reccomended that thier bloody mary's are great...that wasn't in the cards for me today, but, I will return with my brother-n-law sometime, and we will be the the judge of that ;-).
Nick's assessment is spot on, I'll just add a few observations. I certainly noticed & experienced the rough. It actually felt like the rough along fairways and around greens was increasingly deeper as the round progressed. The rough was certainly an invite to adjust your game to minimize dispersion in approach corridors and around green complexes. The fairways and aprons were nice to hit off of, but they were also soft and with less rollout and bounce than expected. There is decent GPS on carts, with the virtual pace marshall built in. Appreciated the many ice water dispensers throughout the course. Our GK cup 17, #1 finals seed, provided great caddie advice, and made the round more enjoyble. Recommended.

Rode the Golds (6643/71.5/126) in slightly more than 4.5H mid morning with Chuck, Gil and Dan. Thanks to Chuck for coordinating the 4 player for $99 GM voucher. Excellent group to play with and deal for this course! Clear with little breeze normally sounds good. But it was 111 when we finished, which made for very challenging playing conditions. Tees mostly lush, level and only a few needed divot repair. Fairways lush, well maintained and nice to play from. Few unfixed divots. Rough almost unfair. 3-4" Bermuda, the ball usually sat down. Terrible for POP, you often had to almost step on balls 2 yards off the fairway or putting green apron to find them. Traps poor, not well maintained. Several had standing water and many others had not been raked consistently. Plus they need to trim the Bermuda runners around the edges. These traps were truly a hazard. Greens firm and putted medium speed. Bumpy, looked like they were leaving them longer because of the heat. Often could not find where my iron or pitch shot hit, basically no ball marks. Not alot of break on these greens. Conventional, old school Palm Springs layout. Exterior of the course is surrounded by homes &/or streets on all sides. No holes with a wow factor, but a very solid layout that is fun to play. Excellent practice and warm up facilities with complementary balls. Customer service excellent all around. Plenty of water stations on the course. No drink cart but they stock the ice chest with ice and water. GPS to the F/M/B of greens on the standard carts. Recommended.

Rode the Golds (6643/71.5/126) in 3.5H mid morning with Austin and Aldrin. I was definitely the short hitter in this bunch. Upper 90's, hazy and breezy made for decent golfing conditions since play was moving. Tees had good coverage but some were beat up and could use more divot repair. Fairways were lush, well maintained and nice to play from. Few unfixed divots. Rough was decent, unlevel mowed down Bermuda in most cases. Traps were an absolute mess. Many had standing water and many others had previously had water run off issues. Some of the worst traps I have played from in a good while. Greens were very good. Smooth, medium fast and very firm. Often could not find where my iron or pitch shot hit, basically no ball marks. Not alot of break on these greens. First time here in over a year and a half. Nothing but good at this course (if bunkers don't count, being in a very windy area hard to keep sand in them) always an A1 course for the ladies, and yes my wife beat me yet again as the ladies tees are overly fair for the short hitter. Course is not hard and basically your putting is going to be the reason you do or don't score well. We play this course a few times every year and even with newer owners it is always in good shape. As I said putting is the key hear and greens rolled very well, just have to be aware of the the last foot break at the holes....

Played here 5/11 alongside GK member Kassper7 on a typical May day in Palm Springs (100 degrees, touch of breeze, but plenty of hot sun) with a 10:30AM tee time, allowed to tee off by ourselves about 20 mins early. First time playing here and knew I wouldn't be seeing the course in the conditions Matt Pisarski's last review described, but was surprised to see it still having some semblance of that. As soon as you turn in from the road you get a view at one hole (4 I believe) along with the range, and both looked fine. Overall impressed the heat hadn't burned it out more!

Tee boxes: Played the gold tees and I have a feeling a lot of people play these as some holes had been beat up some, nothing egregious though.

Fairways: Excellent shape for May. The visual aspect of seeing fairways still holding its color was pleasing to the game. Good amount of roll and lies were always good.

Rough: Not sure why I don't remember the rough that well, but it must mean it wasn't very penal.

Sand: I believe I was only in one bunker and it had a decent amount of sand that was edging more towards dirt-like rather than the pearly white stuff at Bighorn.

Greens: Excellent condition as well! They rolled true and medium speed on most holes. Wasn't having a particularly good putting day so I guess the contours and slope were a bit challenging but I always felt it was a fair fight.

ETC: Had a bit of an issue at check-in with what someone on the phone promised me was going to be a Troon discount (Indigo Golf runs this place and was recently purchased by Troon). Pro shop informed me booking had to be done 3 days before (a Troon condition to most tee times, specials or not) and I had made mine weeks before. After some smart talk from Kassper, man behind the desk eventually caved and honored the discounted pricing. Wouldn't pay the rack rate to play here right now, and honestly probably not during peak season either as there are just too many other courses I liked more (Classic, Shadow Ridge, Firecliff, etc.) Snack shack closed at 1pm, but thankfully because of a front played in less than 2 hours, was able to stop in and buy something. Layout is fun, with some houses lining certain holes especially in the back 9. Nice variety of par 4's but nothing about this course blew me away. A good deal warrants a visit.

Used a golf moose voucher for an 11:00 an tee time on Sat on a 80° day. Check in took a little longer as there was one guy at the desk and was on a phone call for a solid 5 mins before help arrived.

Conditions were in very good shape today as expected after seeing all of the reviews on GK. We played the Gold Tee boxes (6600 yards) and they were level and lush with a little divot issue on par 3's but that was because we played latter in the day so lots of players before. Fairways are still in great shape almost carpet like and cut tight which is just the way I like it. Rough is starting to come out of dormancy so it looks a bit weird with greens and browns but played nice. Sand traps didn't look that nice but the sand was a grayish powder type sand and your ball could easily plug. The greens were in excellent shape a touch firm and quick on putts but smooth as can be. I had issues judging some of the putts because it didn't look like much but a break would come out of nowhere. I really enjoyed the layout with water hazards and well placed bunkers. the course has a house on about half the holes but you really need to be offline to hit them. Most holes you can pulled out the big stick and crush your drive without much penalty. Greens are well protected and I noticed a few of them were elevated with false edges making wedge shot accuracy a premium.

I found out that you need to pay attention to the booking window on the voucher as I booked 14 days out but the voucher only allows me 7 day booking (good luck getting a tee time within 7 days). The guy said he was going to have to charge me full price an additional $40 per player but I informed him we are not using the replay and he decided to only charge $20. I guess that is a fair compromise as I should've seen the fine print on the golf moose voucher. Overall a solid course and ill be back for sure.

Played Saturday 9:20. Perfect weather course was really nice. Fairways and greens were perfect. Rough was dormant and some areas were penalizing others were not. A lot of mounds and valleys if you’re offline off the tee, small greens were receptive and it was hard to see where the ball landed.
Played from the gold tees and most of the fairways are wide. There is a lot of water on this course with some shots needing to carry.

I didn’t experience any bunkers myself, but observing playing partners, they complained about hard pan in a couple traps. Being there are no rakes due to COVID perhaps not overly filled.

Tee boxes had many divots but no issue finding a spot.

Pretty flat course, nice layout. Nice visuals on par 3’s

Enjoyed the course, didn’t see much of a clubhouse.

Beverage cart came by once just as I was hoping for it!

Will play again here.

Played out here around 1 on my second round of the with the GK crew. It was almost a perfect day with wind being the only hindrance. Course is closer to the highway than most so not quite as protected as other courses in the Coachella Valley from wind. Wind is definitely less than the northern side of the highway though. Felt like the wind was adding or taking away a club depending on which direction you were hitting. This course is in really good condition. Flat tee boxes. Fairways almost always a flat lie and the grass is alive and kicking in the winter. Rough is dormant but still easy to hit off of. Greens were running a good speed and have less break than you expect. I managed to stay out of the sand, a great improvement compared to my previous weekend in Vegas.

My only qualms are due to my own anxiety of being around houses and roads. Not much one can do about that, The houses seem to be well placed though, where even the errant of shots miss them, and the rough is slanted to throw balls back towards the fairways. There is a road to the left on 2-3 holes and you really have to hook it to do so, but always in the back of my mind. In general not much to worry about if you have the same home anxiety as I do.

I would always accept an invitation to play this course.

Played 2-16-21 afternoon with Gary, Peter, and Pedro getting around the course in around 4 hours with minimal waiting. Tee boxes were in good shape, level and lush with a little divot damage on par threes. Fairways were very nice, very green with nice lies and decent roll out. Rough was dormant but still in good condition, not to long and fairly easy to hit from. Was in one greenside bunker that had a good amount of sand and nice to hit out of. Greens were real nice, holding well struck shoots and rolling medium/fast and smooth. Good track running through houses that are pushed back a ways, so not really in play. Worth a try if in the area.
