A nice day in the cloudy but a cooler 71 degree with very little winds.

The pro shop staff were welcoming and the bev cart came around a few times. Some guys in our group were looking for sandwiches- the girls didn't have any so he asked if he could have her get one but not a chance. No big deal.

The rough were dormant and they were down and easy to play from, however, around the greens on those dormant Bermuda made it a challenge to make a good shot. The fairways were tightly mowed though there were plenty of unfilled divots so it wasn't great. The bunkers had very little sand to none though some of the greenside bunkers had some enough to make good shots. The greens were slow and bumpy with lots- I mean plenty of ball marks fresh and old- very disappointing!!

I like the course, but I can't say I will come back any time soon.

Rode the Golds (6643/71.5/126) in a relaxed 4H, 15M using Forelinx. Paired with Jerry/Karen, nice couple to play with. The weather was 90ish, clear and calm. The course is in really solid fall condition considering it is almost time to close for winter over seeding. The Bermuda tees were level and mostly lush. However, many could use more regular divot repair. The Bermuda fairways are mowed close, lush and well maintained with few unfixed divots. The Bermuda rough is lush and mowed low, so no lost ball challenges. Uniformly in the 2-3" range, the ball usually set up and was nice to play out of. The sand traps have decent sand but are not maintained that well here. Mediocre. Too thin and need to be churned more regularly. The Bermuda greens putted medium speed and were firm. Few ball marks, few holes with tiers here, these greens are easier than average to navigate. The customer service is almost always excellent here. Good all grass driving range that is included in your fee. Drink cart out making the rounds early in the round and plenty of water stations on the course. GPS on the carts is a +. Fun course, nothing fancy or overly memorable, just a solid layout. Recommended.

Was out in Palm Desert on vacation with the family. Snuck away to play an early round. Everyone was really nice and helpful as I arrived. The practice area was in great shape with plenty of balls to hit. Once I went up to play my round I was all alone. The views were beautiful. The tee boxes were flat and in great shape. The Fairways were the same. They worked on the greens a couple weeks prior to my arrival so they were only in good, not great shape. The only gripe I have was that on the back 9 the greens crew were still working on the holes. Flags were not in and the sprinklers were still on. I called the front desk and he stated I just played too fast. The first tee time was me at 630am. I was a single and did not play too bad. Normally I would be upset, but it all made sense. I would come back and play again.

Played here 5/29 on day 2 of Palm Springs trip. Another Underpar special with unlimited golf, however this course's last tee time for play Mon-Thur is 0930. We were informed that during the off season they now close early and the replay had to be played on the Pete Dye Course. We were bummed as this is the nicer course between the 2 due to all the water features. Knew something was up when we noticed that the water features were not running as usual. Greens and fairways were excellent. Greens were slow and did not provide much break. Was told by the starter to pretty much aim it at the cup. Rest of course conditions were identical to the Pete Dye course. As always staff is friendly and helpful. Only played 1 round at this course and 9 at the Pete Dye but stopped due to the increased heat.

Rode 36 from the Golds (6643/71.5/126) in slightly more than 4H as a single twilight using Forelinx. The weather was 90ish, partly cloudy and breezy. The course is beginning to dry out with the wind and temps near 90 every day recently. Drivers are now reaching areas I could not a month ago and the firmness around the greens definitely needs to be taken into account on your appraoch shots. The tees were level, lush and well maintained for divots. The fairways are mowed close, lush and well maintained with few unfixed divots. The rough is not over seeded here and is mowed low, so no lost ball challenges. Part weeds, part Bermuda coming out of dormancy, you usually have questionable lies in this stuff. The sand traps have decent sand but are not maintained that well here. Mediocre. The greens were nice, smooth and firm. You just had to adjust to the medium to medium slow speed. The customer service is almost always excellent here. Drink cart out making the rounds early in the round and plenty of water stations on the course. GPS on the carts is a +. Fun course, nothing fancy or overly memorable, but a solid layout overall. Recommended.

Rode the Golds (6643/71.5/126) in 3H, 15M as a single mid day using Forelinx. The weather was 90ish, clear and breezy. The tees were lush, level and well maintained for divots. The fairways were lush and well maintained. They play firm, producing some long drives. Nice to play from! The rough is not over seeded and is cut fairly low. The Bermuda is clumpy and can still be penal. The sand traps have decent sand but need to be maintained better. The greens were smooth and medium speed. They are firm but still held irons okay. The customer service was very good from everyone encountered. No drink cart today but plenty of water stations on the . GPS on the carts is a +. Nice all grass practice facilities that is included with your fee. Recommended.

Nothing tricked up, it's tough but not overly demanding. Tight course in spots with numerous lakes to navigate over/around. Really good all grass practice facilities that are included with your fee. The tees were level, lush and very well maintained for divots. The fairways were lush and well maintained with few unfixed divots. Very nice to play from! The rough is not over seeded here and is mowed low. The main thing that is penal is that the lie will usually be questionable because the Bermuda is lumpy even though not high. The sand traps were mediocre. Several had water ruts from sprinkler runoff. While the sand quality was okay, most looked like they had not been raked in everal days. VERY POOR for a Troon facility IMO. The greens were very nice, smooth and medium to medium fast speed. They looked quicker than they were, seemed like every putt I got online came up just short. They are firm but still held irons okay. The customer service was very good from everyone encountered. No drink cart today but plenty of water stations on the course. GPS on the carts is a +. Solid course, Recommended.

The final round of the Indian Wells trip happened on Monday, 3/11/19 at The Westin Mission Hills Gary Player course. I had a good time here as well, finding pretty solid conditions all the way around. The day was a bit gray and cool, but the course is very nice. I found the layout to probably be the friendliest of all of my rounds on this trip, as most fairways slope down to the center, so that if you're not that straight off the tee, the course tries to help keep you in line. I walked on as a single and joined a group right away, so for the first time in a long time I found myself taking advantage of the facility's practice area after the round instead of before. There's a very nice grass driving range, plus a good little chipping green that I enjoyed using to get a little work in on the short game. The price did feel a little steep compared to my other rounds on this trip, as it was a bit more than Terra Lago or Escena, and I found the experience to not be all that much different. Just the same, I have no regrets about playing here, and most likely would do it again.

Rode the Golds (6643/71.5/126) with Ray and Randy in 4H, 20M after a frost delay. The weather was partly cloudy, fairly calm and around 60 by the time we were finishing. The tees were lush and level with only the par 3's needing divot attention. The fairways were lush and nice to play from. The Bermuda rough is not over seeded and is not high. However, it is penal because the Bermuda is thin and matted down, so generally expect a poor lie. The sand traps were nicely maintained with decent sand. The greens were smooth and putted medium fast. They are firm, hardly any ball marks because of the firmness. Plenty of water stations on the course. Drink cart out making the rounds several times. Really good all grass practice facilities with unlimited range balls. The customer service was very good as usual here. New carts have been upgraded with GPS. The course has numerous lakes to navigate over/around. Native bushes and trees line most fairways that can easily catch offline shots. Player is a tough but not overly demanding layout. Solid course, nothing tricked up, good choice for players of all skill levels. Recommended.
