Played down here over the weekend for the first time. Man it is a loonnngg drive. Course is situated in a really cool valley. All the hills are very green right now and it is a beautiful setting. The course isn't long by any means but it is fun and interesting with a little bit of water in play off the tee and some nice tree lined fairways.

The fairways and rough were very nice for the most part not much to complain about. Greens were rolling smoothly, not overly fast but felt like they held their lines well. Bunkers were in nice shape and properly raked all day. Tee boxes were good for the most part, a little thin here or there but no big deal.

Probably not the type of course that is going to challenge you, but a good area if you're going to go enjoy yourself for a couple days on a weekend and maybe stay at the casino. Would like to come back down and check out the willow glen course, the locals stated that is their favorite amongst the courses down here.

Played here with fellow GK member Nat (molebio) and his friend Jason on 1/26 using a TeeOff.com special that allowed our green fee prices to be far more reasonable than the rack rate here. Our tee time was 12:51 and we finished with barely enough light to see our putts on 18, so that should give an idea of how slow play was and how many people took advantage of the good weather before the coming rain storms this week. Interesting that the course reverted back to the Singing Hills name, which I'm sure rat-patrol will really enjoy, but everything here is still the same; a good golf environment.

Tee boxes: The first time in quite a while that a playing partner commented on chewed up tee boxes, so between the twilight tee time and the lack of maintenance, there were definitely some tees that were beat up. Granted, there are only B/W/R tee options so I'm sure they get plenty of play. Not the biggest deal, but good to note they weren't ideal.

Fairways: Overall good shape. The fairways here always have a greener color than almost anywhere else in east San Diego County because they have their own water source on the reservation, but today they played well. A good amount of run, lies were almost always up enough to prevent any issues, and the number of divots were limited as people seemed to be using the cart mix to fill in any holes.

Rough: Fairly penal, though even more than the thick grass, what is really a challenge in the rough here is the amount tress (Oak Glen, right?) and the leaves they shed that make finding some balls nearly impossible. This course has a better mix of penal areas than its sister course and it shows. A major ravine, lots of trees, even a home or two all come into play.

Bunkers: Was only in one and although it could have used a truckload more sand, the present sand was enough to get out without any issue. The sand consistency left something to be desired, but alas, what truly matters is not finding the bottom of the bunker with your club, and at least it was in good shape.

Greens: The highlight for me. Most were in excellent shape with excellent roll and a nice forest green color. A few had some burned out areas but the staff was smart enough to place pins away from those areas.

ETC: Good comfy carts with color GPS (though the software could use a tune-up since my playing partners cart was off quite a bit). Staff was very friendly and we saw two different cart attendants a few times. Food seemed fairly priced and did the trick. Layout here is fun, with plenty of interesting holes and a handful of risk/reward. For a good price, make your way out.

Played Oak course on Monday morning. Course is in very good shape especially for the recent heat in the area.

Tee boxes were all level and easy to play from. Fairways were in very good condition. Some brown spots but not in places that cause an issue. I was surprised how green it was given the recent heat in the area. Rough was mowed down and not really a factor. Sand was great and easy to play from. Greens were also great. A few ball marks here and there but didn’t seem to effect roll.

Course was a lot of fun and I always enjoy playing here. Their gold card is a good deal and the rewards it offers makes it work getting if you live in the area.

Played here a couple of times this past week. Walked on a couple of afternoons as a single and there was no one out here. Played by myself all 3 times actually.

They actually were watering the greens during the afternoon so they were always real soft. Not a lot of release after hitting the green. Since there wasn’t a lot of play they weren’t too bad but if it got more traffic I could see the ball marks, spike marks and footprints becoming a problem.

Fairways are good. Since this is a short course there can be a good amount of divots in the fairway. I actually only hit driver on 3 holes due to some trees that can be in the way if you get too close to the green.

Rough has changed a bit. Looks like they took some of the rough out and put bark out as part of a turf reduction effort. Still the rough itself it not bad but you will probably be blocked by trees and have to work the ball accordingly.

Sand looked very hard but surprisingly was really good. They need to be raked but still very good to hit from.

Customer service was great. I got the gold membership which gets you a free round and another one in the month of your birthday. Mine is in June so I thought the $80 which is $40 for 2 of the rounds and the twilight rate is pretty good so I thought this was a good value.

Made it out to oak for a quick late morning round. The course was empty and got around 18 in a little over two hours starting at 1100. The course is in really nice condition. Tee boxes were level and easy to play from. Fairways were nice and lush and freshly mowed. The rough was tall at 2-3 inches. You could play from it but it made you think. Greens were very good. Held shots well and rolled a little slow but smooth. Most bunkers were good. A couple were hard but still playable. If you can get a good deal I highly recommend this course or it's sister willow glen.

Played here on Tuesday AM on a beautiful sunny day. Very little damage from the recent storms.

Lots of flowers in bloom around the clubhouse.

Nice driving range but mats only and they are getting a little worn.

Greens: smooth, medium to slow and very firm.

Fairways: decent lies all day, a few bare spots.

Rough: 1-3" high with some bare spots.

Traps: raked sand, a little firm but playable.

Friendly staff in the Pro shop, the starter and in the restaurant. A very enjoyable day!

Greens were in decent shape. Very firm. Very tough to stop shots from rolling past hole. Running at a touch above medium pace with good roll.
Narrow course with tree lined fairway's can make for difficult shots if not near center of fairway or correct side.

Played here yesterday for work as there was a tournament on both courses and i was on the Oak side. Staff was outstanding and very helpful. For such a large tournament they had their act together and got everything going relatively on time.

Greens are certainly the highlight of the course. They were softer than I expected because I was just expecting everything to be dried out. Putts rolled well and there were several ball marks that people in this tournament did not fix which is a shame. Given the number of golfers out here there were quite a few novices.

The rest of the course is certainly showing significant signs of summer conditions. Many spots throughout the fairway and rough that was bare dirt and patchy grass at best. There really is no difference between the rough and fairway here.

Several tee boxes were beat up too especially on the par 3s, we played from the whites for the tournament so the back tee boxes did look better.

Wasn't in the sand but it didn't seem that bad. I actually didn't even retrieve one so i'm not sure if the sand was firm or soft but looked on the firmer side.

Of the 2 courses here I like the Willow better. This side the par 4s seem pretty repetitive. Given the conditions I'd probably give the course some time to come back.
