Played in the mens club group on Thursday and was scheduled to tee off at 9:50 but was more like 10 by the time we actually went off. Overall pace was brutal, 3 hour front 9 and 2 1/2 back and there were times that felt like it was slower.

Check in is back in the booth and not in the pro shop. They are doing some renovation in the pro shop to put in the check in but it looks like it will be a month or so before it moves back in there.

I thought the greens were a tad bumpy which could be because I did play later. I also didn't think they were as fast as the last time I played here but I did wonder how much the rains from the week before played in softening up the course. I don't think it will take much to get these back to being quick especially since things are drying out. North practice green was closed so I don't know how it compares to the actual greens.

Fairways were great to hit from and provided some good roll. There are quite a few divots out there and I did see a guy out there on hole 7 filling them in. I don't think this is normal but only because the tournament is right around the corner. Fairways have definitely been narrowed down and hitting them is certainly a premium.

Rough wasn't as tall as I expected but there were mowers out there but dang man the ball could just settle down and make it really tough to advance. A couple of guys in our group did lose a ball in it so it not a pushover. I did have a couple of shots where I did club up 1 or 2 clubs and still came up short even though I thought I hit it pretty dang well.

I was in a couple of bunkers and I thought they were well maintained and good quality sand in them.

Tee boxes were good no real issues. Par 3s have more damage as expected but there was plenty of spots to tee it up.

The course has really bounced back nicely. Rough is brutal--balls even a few inches off the fairway can disappear. They have narrowed the fairways on several holes. Greens are quick and firm. Bunkers were in pretty good shape--especially considering the recent rains. Pace of play is always a problem here, and the rough + cart path only restrictions don't help.

Although TP is made for walking, they now offer carts with GPS.

Played in the mens club tournament today and was the 3rd group out. We fell behind early but by 18 was caught up to the group ahead of us, still finished in a little over 4 hours. Just looking for balls in the rough slows everything down and with the fairways being pretty narrow it makes hitting them that much more of a premium.

A little chilly at the start and I still think the course was drying out as there was still some damp areas out there. I guess technically I hit 3 but one doesn't count because it was the wrong one. They were nice to hit from and walk on. Mowed to a nice height and provided decent roll out. I wish they had bottles out there for golfers to take so they could fill in their divots. Given the amount of play and there are quite a few unfilled ones out there.

Rough is brutal. I mean it even looks like they cut it down some and still you need to send out a search party to find it. I did lose a ball in it and another guy in our group did as well. The group behind us fell behind and I could see they were searching as well.

The greens are slick and firm. I hit a PW on 6 to the front of the green and it release to the middle back of the green. I'm guessing that is probably 15-20 yds of roll. Again I thought they were fast and I didn't see too many unrepaired ball marks but did my share of the ones I did see. I don't think golfers realize how much roll there is and don't think to look that far back.

Tee boxes were fine. #1 is moved up but all the other ones seem to be at their normal locations. A few more divots on par 3 but there was always a spot to tee it up.

Was in a couple of bunkers and I think the sand was a bit wetter and firmer. Didn't see any drastic differences between fairway and greenside ones. They seemed pretty consistent.

For a course that is a top 100 in the country the range is really terrible. Beaten up limited flight balls and mats that are harder than the concrete underneath it. Short game area is still closed and I don't think it will be open for the general public again. Just lessons and events from my understanding.

Times are still difficult to come by but if you looking for a test feel free to come on out I think its in very good condition right now.

Went off at 10:36 with a light but constant rain that picked up intensity then backed off from the 4th hole through the 13th green when it started coming in sideways for 20 minutes or so. The rain, the rain gear and the thick, lush rough made for some tough sledding if you missed the fairway.
Tees: mostly very good, par 3’s a bit chewed up as per usual
Fairways: not mown as tight on the front nine, better on the back
Rough: thick, nasty and wet
Bunkers: pretty consistent and playable although soaked
Greens: a bit slow due to the moisture but could still get away from you if you weren’t paying attention
POP: just under 5 hours and we hardly waited at all, is was just a slog through some of the holes
Such a fun, challenging course even in the rain, recommended for sure

Played with the men’s club on Thursday morning. Without being too judgemental course was still in a recovery phase for sure. Fairways were heavy and wet in a lot of spots and greens were still very soft and slow compared to what these greens can be. Tee boxes were restricted to the forward locations on most holes and had a lot of wear, ie the course hadn’t moved the location in quite some time. The rye overseed was starting to pop up in a few places but not fully grown in yet. Rough was ok, very low cut still after the over seeding. Bunkers were in great shape, no complaints there. Give this course another month and it should be in great shape. Pop was 3 45 which is always nice.

Played Monday 10/5, 11:50 tee time. 4 1/2 hr round. Course undergoing overseeding the entire course, including the rough. This apparently involves removing all of the rough. So the course played very easy off the tee, but made chipping from the 'rough' delicate as the surface was not fluffy or firm... so i chunked a few chips on less than perfect strokes. We did get a $15 discount due to course conditions. Sand was fair. Greens were a little bumpy... difficult reading, as grain is in play. Back 9 blows the front 9 away. Flipping the 9s was the right move. Decent time. But wait a while to play.

Played yesterday and we teed off a little after 7 and I think we finished close to 12. So pace was somewhere between 4 hours 45 minutes and 5 hours. Just a side note the practice putting green for the North course is still closed so you have to practice on the South putting green.

Greens are really great. I think they roll at a very nice pace and all seemed pretty consistent. I was worried with the shut down they wouldn't be maintaining them but looks quite the opposite. I didn't see many unrepaired ball marks. I remember when you had to play to the front of the green and let it roll out now it seems like they are holding shots better.

Tee boxes were decent. Some were a little dry but generally there was always a spot to find to tee off from.

Sand traps were ok. Some needed some raking and some golfers need to learn to rake their footprints.

Now the not so good. The fairways and rough are absolutely terrible. There are so many bad areas because of all the tents that were erected for the Open. I know the maintenance is the first week of October so it seems like these are being prepped for that. So it is a little difficult to determine what is due to preparation for overseeding and what is due to repairs from the Open. I'm having a hard time thinking the fairways and rough won't be back until December. Again that is just my guess. Even with the greens as good as they are I don't see myself playing here until later this year or I hear otherwise from trusted resources.

Early tee time on TP north. Tees, fairways, rough and traps in very good condition. Greens are very firm with a few unfixed divots on each green. Customer service always good and on point. Currently #1 tee box and #18 green are being leveled to install a driving range for the US Open, with both holes shortened. Wind was up a little and made for some great views. POP was under four hours. Fun day with great views and great weather.

Played here a couple of times over the past couple of weeks and the conditions are pretty consistent with my last review. Just a couple of updates is the rough seems to be in maintenance mode in that it’s not growing wildly but being kept up. Don’t get me wrong it is still long, thick and you might lose a ball in it but at least I see mowers out there cutting down some. I’m rating the bunkers at a 1 until I see some changes. I’ve written about this before but my last round was the final straw. I hit into the bunker on 8 and it took 4 of us to find it. I kid you not the only thing you could see was the ball the size of a dime. It’s just ridiculous and stupid. As far as pace goes it was anywhere between 3 1/2 - 4 1/2 hour rounds. Did get paired with some guys who played at 9ish and said their round was 5 1/2 hours long.
