As a Paralegal years ago, I was urged to start up the stupid game of chasing a stupid little white ball around some trees. After much prompting I relented, just to get the Law Office Manager and the Court-Reporter off my back. I went out with them early one Saturday morning - WOW!!!!! I was hooked that first day. I used to think it was a sissy-man's game, but it takes a real man to build the character, harness the focus, discover the will and maintain the stamina to excel at the greatest game of all. I have since helped many people with their golf game. I believe that, as an amateur, you can't "fix" your golf swing, you can only practice good or bad habits. Our body (muscles) respond to what we believe and think. If you believe and think the right things and you practice what you believe and think, you can do whatever you see and feel in your imagination. If most amateurs would follow the likes of Paul Goydos, Kenny Perry and Steve Stricker, their games would improve dramatically. Most amateurs "can" hit the ball well, but they seem to have trouble maintaining a "steady, stable and smooth lower body motion". If most amateurs would practice keeping their "right" foot planted as long as possible through the swing AND keep the clubhead going down the target line - they would improve their game by 10 to 20 strokes. I don't get out much these days but I sure wish I could be out their everyday.
I hit the ball pretty far. I usually hit my long irons off the tee and land just behind my playing partners. My longest drive with my driver (Titleist 905T) was 335 yards. I average 280 - 300 with the driver, but I haven't played enough lately to stay consistent. I tried switching from my blades to cavity back irons - bad move. I cannot hit cavity-back irons. I love the feel of blades and will always play blades. I like the "RAM" logo because those are my initials, yet I go by Anthony.
