If it isn't fun, don't do it. My golfing life (at 60 now) has been the most constant thing in my life...started at age 12 and played on sand greens. No greater influence in my life than my teacher/father. His quote: the love of the game will sustain you even when you have the shanks! That's why my 3 boys have clubs and a love of the game. They have yet to beat me...not if I can help it.
