We are moving to Orange County so I have been playing private clubs in the area to see where I want to join. I found Aliso Viejo Country Club through a GolfWRX forum and a member reached out to me. I am so glad that I found this course as it really has everything I want....
First, the course! It's a really fun layout and the views are spectacular. Most other Orange County courses are near highways and aren't very scenic. AVCC has so many jaw dropping views of the Santa Ana Mountains and it is just a blast to play. The greens are often elevated and well guarded. The bunkers are fluffy and you can let the driver rip on just about2 every hole. The greens had recently been aerated but they still rolled pure and medium fast. There were a number of really interesting holes including their signature par 3 (number 12) that has a very elevated tee with panoramic views. Some say they need a full service driving range (AVCC has mats with nets to warm up with rumored trackman down the road) but I think it's fine and the chipping / putting area is quite good.
The clubhouse, food and staff were all first rate. I was so impressed that I am going to join....
