My dad introduced me to golf when I was 10yrs old. He taught me the game and also got me lessons with a pro as I got a little better. The pro said I showed promise and had a very nice natural swing. I played a few years through high school. But none of my friends played or even understood the game. They would make fun of me when I couldn't hang out on weekends because I had to practice golf with my dad. I succumbed to peer pressure and told my dad I wanted to quit golf. I quit my junior year in high school.
After about 20yrs away from golf I decided to take up golf again in an effort to bond and hang out with my dad as he is getting older. He is a golf nut so what better way to bond but take up the game he loves and taught me. We have the best time every time we play.
I play about once or twice a month due to a busy work schedule and family responsibilities. I do however go to the driving range once a week since it is open till 9pm. Oh well but I love golf again and wonder how I could have put the clubs down for so long.
