Played here on 04/11/09 on Easter weekend on a family trip the visit the in laws in Henderson,NV. They live about 6 miles from Tuscany Golf Club. I reserved an online special for what is a good rate relative to the typical steep non resident Vegas green fees of $140-$240. Reserved for $90 including cart, GPS and range balls. Pulled up in the parking lot and was met by staff in a golf cart as i got out of my car. He took my golf bag for staging for my round and directed be to the pro shop. The pro shop was a nice temporary bungalo like one you'd find a build site. but this was nicely decorated inside out. After I paid for my round I was led to the driving range by a guy who introduced himself as the start coordinator. He led me to a practice tee right behind a golf cart with my bag already set up on it. Now this was cool. The range had half mats and half grass and the grass area was nicer than some of the tee boxes at some of my local course. There was actually nice lush grass on the hitting surface. I played as a single and was paired up with a senior 3 some a couple Doug and Sue and their friend Sam. The weather nice 65* and little overcast in the morning with the sun coming out by the back 9.The tee boxes were very nice with lush green grass even on the par 3 boxes. Some nice elevated tees that allowed a good drive to roll out for a few more yards. The course winds between some beautiful homes. The rolling fairways were good size and the homes are off the fairway a bit as to not feel to crowded. The fairways were in excellent shape with all green grass nicely mowed. There was not a brown spot or bare spot anywhere. The rough was also lush and green and only about an inch or 2 higher that the fairway. It was not too bad of a lie if you missed fairway. There were a few fairway bunkers and some waste areas splitting 2 different fairways. The waste areas were mostly packed sand and dirt nicely landscaped with brush and palm trees. The greens were in great condition with very few ball marks and no bumps. The greens were slow the front 9 due rain the night before. By the back 9 the greens dried out and sped up a bit. Nice and smooth. The greens were guarded with green side bunkers with nice sand even after the rain. It made getting up and down easier. Pace was very good at abut 4 1/2 hrs even with the slower pace of my senior partners. The marshall was very polite and asked how our game was going and politely told us that the group in front was already off the next tee. It was his nice way of saying that we were falling a bit behind. The cart girl seemed to be around every 3 holes offering drinks and snacks. Albeit the slower pace of my partners I enjoyed my round with them, good fun company. Immediately after the last putt on the 18th hole it started drizzling. We finished just in time as light rain came. We were me at the cart drop off by staff who cleaned our clubs before driving us to our cars. Overall it was a great time on a fabulous course with excellent staff. I felt all snooty tooty being catered to compared to my normal round at my local munis. I definitely would come back to play next time I'm in Henderson if there is a good online special again.

Played El Dorado for my first time 03/30/09 because of an every other course in Long Beach was backed up. The green fee was also a great deal. I didn't know as it turns out they were aerating greens thus the low crowd and low fee. The starter didn't warn me of this. Dang, I should have checked on GK first. The tee boxes were nice for par 4 & 5 holes but hacked up on the par 3s. the fairways were fair to good I would chalk up to the recent rains the week before. The greens were crap due to the maintenance. My group couldn't play holes 4-7 because they were aerating and the workers didn't let us play thru. On the 4th hole the worker aerating with a tractor looked to have pulled off the green, stopped and got out of the tractor. We thought he was going to let us play the hole so we hit up onto the green. As we approached the green we see him kick all 4 of our balls clear off the green into the green side bunker and started up his tractor and began aerating. Wow I have never seen this before. I have had greens keepers stop and let me play through and then resume their work. I have also had them wave me off a green and politely tell me that the green is closed but never had my ball kicked. The rest of the holes 8-19 were fine except of course for the greens. On 3 other holes the a hole was cut and the flag placed on a makeshift green cut into the fringe in front of the green but was not puttable. Over all it was a bad experience for a first time there but it was my fault for not checking GK first for maintenance alerts and skipping El Dorado till maintenance was completed. I might try El Dorado again in the future to see if all the work and rudeness on the greens have gotten better.

First time playing at Skylinks. I played on 01/18/09 with a tee time at 8am and actually teed off on time. The round lasted about 4 1/2hrs for our 5some so it was a nice pace. Course was nice with green fairways. The rough was not that tall so it was not bad to hit out of. The bunkers were in good shape with nice sand ( I should know I landing in about half of them). The greens were a little slow early in the morning because they were still damp from the morning dew but sped up as they dried out. The greens were nice except for too many ball marks. I don't blame the course for this but rather the inconsiderate golfers with no apparent green etiquette. Overall the course was nice but not nice enough for the high fees. This course does not warrant a weekend fee of $71 w/cart. Luckily I have Long Beach resident card and was discounted to $58 w/cart. Lakewood golf course down the road is comparable but only $46 w/cart. The only difference is Lakewood can get crowded. Probably because of the cheaper fee.

I've played Rancho Vista twice. I treated my dad to a round of golf here for his birthday. We had a great time. the curse is a nice layout with some rolling fairways. the fairways are wide enough that you don't need to always need to be down the center. But on some holes there are a huge hard pack sand areas that spearate the different holes and those are hard on the soles of clubs. The greens are nice. Reachable par 3s the balls and high approach shots the ball sticks on landing. Green speeds were medium to fast on some holes. I've played both times on a Saturday without crowding issues.Overall a very nice and fun affordable well maintained course.
