Played mid-morning Tuesday after a three day annual Memorial Amateur Championship with the pins left set where they had been for the final round of the event.
When I had inquired about the greens and conditions about ten days prior they stated we're the Augusta of Carmichael. Maybe a little puffing there, but the greens were really good. I rated 9 of 10. Rough was up and near the fairways not too bad deeper in longer.
Bunkers fluffy light brown sand very good as well.
Fairways not carpet but nice and offering roll out for the stinger type drives of my game.
Tee boxes large and level.
We followed the womens golf league and this course is popular with the senior set. Pace of play at 4.5 hours.
I looked at my previous review from 8/2019 and I feel the same with my playing recommendations. At $38 Sr walking rate mid-week a no-brain-er Go Play the Hoff!
Don't know why I haven't this long.
** Note the parking lot and access road is in a large scale re-do so parking is a bit out of normal with a space for about 200+ cars for golfing and adjacent park. Should be completed in July 2025 Bye.

Only one employee in the shop at open and he was great getting a cart for my buddy bouncing around with a friendly smile on the hustle.
I was privileged to be able to raise old glory remembering and honoring those who gave all.
No pace of play issues following a single and twosome.
Course is a draw the ball design.
Most every hole exception the 9th a R-L drive will help you.
Greens still in recovery mode from aeration now and occasional bump and a few holes left to completely fill-in. Rolling moderate speed and better than last Saturday.
Mowing was active maintaining tee boxes and green surrounds. Watering on a few fairways.
The protective fairway bunker on 8 was damp from this my ball sitting up. Jumped in between streams made bogey.
Overall course is growing out and heading into summer look forward to good getting better trend.
Fun factor for me was up as I put in a clean 9 holes with 2 pars and 7 bogeys. Can't recall when last time I accomplished that.
I like the place. Even better when the driver cooperates. And some luck on my side this day.
Value rate imo at $19 walking. Blue collar golf in the foothills :)

MKo's review was a pleasant surprise to read. If my reviews influenced his decision to play here passing many better courses on the way north OK!
On to the review early tee time (3rd? out) showed up earlier in order to move up. Accomplished that as two following two for the usual 3:10 POP. This day a lighter tee sheet than normally busier Sundays with nice weather. Keep pace moving the course is wonderful a slow slog and one could question the travel time out here. (45 mins for me)
Usually on Sundays the first tee visible from 7th green to 9th fairway is stacked with a couple groups when we pass by, hence the longer POP noted by MK's prose.
Greens good / great could be slicker and quicker I would not complain. rated 8 my highest.
Tee boxes a bit shaggy with variable divots and some bumps. They are "working" on improving those most in need. A lower cut would improve or more frequently.
Fairways not tight lies, but firm with the proper rollout for conditions.
Bunkers sand firming up from what I observed and the one I exited well (par 3 14th)
Rough getting sticky and taller as the spring grow out continues. Getting penal as it should.
Grill opens at 7:30 and with "home" style mexican flair I've always liked.
Glad that was also validated in previous review.
Walking rate $45 prime time $20 single seat in cart. Makes it an attractive value for my budget and game. Rather move to more weekday golf at Senior rates, but with my friend still working in the concrete it's Sundays to join him. I play it down. Partner lift clean place.
All good and easy to support a facility like this.

5:58 dawn patrol. Starter there early paired us with a two-some and we split on the 2nd tee for a great POP 3:05 hrs.
Prime time rack rate $45 and $20 per cart rider. IMO good value for the peak weekend tee times. I choose to walk this flat track 9 of ten times.
Course overall is greening up, especially the fairways filling in. The rough is variable mostly short and grabby until you need it. Then discover a patch of hard pack putting your ball in the deep stuff, lateral or worse. Ample roll-out for the low stinger slingers. Bunkers were mostly wet and somewhat clumpy usually better. The greens are one step off great for here. Rolling at a faster than normal pace today. With the suspects leaving too many ball marks. Come on fix'em. Good golf, service, and a thumbs up recommend overall.

Played Thursday 4/24 with a later Am tee time. Wind light enough to call your attention and cool (60's) partly sunny skies. Full disclosure I had played most recently in Feb. and didn't post review here as I thought the course was in winter condition and gave it time to come out of "hibernation."
It has and is greening up in all areas, let's say from the edges in.
We played the ball down and it was a fair test without unexpected bad break lies.
The rough is getting thick and enough to hold and hide the ball and stop any forward progress quickly. A few areas I found had been punched and had the flat plugs. Escape from it variable could be good as the fairway or buried to the top.
Fairways are ok. Still some shorter dormant areas among the improving short grass.
Bunkers good I wasn't in them but maintained as expected.
Greens rolling good not the fastest I've putted here. My partner commented if it looked like they were going to aerate or they were healed. They had been done about a month ago I confirmed. Held high pitches and chips. Allowed me the bump and runs I use. A few thin spots on the edges.
Numerous broods of namesake turkey in the tall grasses and colorful purple wild weed in unmaintained areas.
2025 $79 prime to $69 Friday to $52 Senior rate Mon-Thu we qualified for.
I didn't take pictures. Looking at the ones posted here it will be interesting to see if the course summer grows into the quality venue it has been.
They are pricing like that. Steele Enterprises owns many area courses.
Historically a little better condition wise that their peers.
One caveat: Most always wet area near 7th green cart path was over flowing and sewer odor evident. A bit far away but above the wet roped off area in the middle of the 9th fairway with a siphon hose being used.
