On day 1 of a rare three day weekend, I headed out to Yucca Valley on my way to Palm Desert. This course has been on my radar for quite a while but I just never made the effort to get there. I made the decision to go only a couple of hours beforehand. When I called to inquire about conditions, the guy in the shop was very friendly and helpful .
It's a 12 hole course with holes 1-6 played again to get a full 18. The course was well saturated and muddy in some spots, but the grass was in nice shape otherwise. The greens rolled nicely although they didn't all appear to be the same kind of grass and some were definitely faster than others. I played with 3 gentlemen who are members and were a lot of fun and very helpful in finding my way around the course with its somewhat confusing layout.
I wouldn't mind playing it again sometime in better conditions
