Greenskeeper.org is honored to endorse the 5th Annual Spencer Shiffman Golf Tournament benefiting Children's Cancer Research. The 2007 Spencer Shiffman/Hope Connection Charity Golf Tournament benefiting City of Hope Pediatric Cancer Research will be held on Monday, May 21, 2007 at El Caballero Country Club in Tarzana, California. For you golfers, May is always "Prime Time" for perfect playing conditions on El Cab's championship golf course!

The Hope Connection is a Chapter of City of Hope consisting of people dedicated to seeing cures in our lifetime for the children stricken from this dreadful disease of cancer. In 2006, Spencer's tournament raised over $157,000 for continued pediatric cancer research at City of Hope.

2007 marks a special and monumental point in my personal battle against cancer. It was on April 10th, 1997, (10 years ago) that the "top cancer surgeon" at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York told me I had 6 months to a year to live! I have not only defied that statement, but I'm continuing my pace as a 13 handicap in golf and to date have raised over $650,000 for necessary research to cure different forms of childhood cancer!

As always, we will be joined by PGA Champion Duffy Waldorf and many other celebrities who have been touched by not only my story beating cancer, but also see the dedication to make a difference. Additionally, in the tradition to honor a person who has made a difference in the cancer community, I will bestow the "Brian Piccolo Courage Award" at the dinner celebration.

For more information to participate in the Spencer Shiffman Annual Golf Tournament please call Spencer at (818) 223-9914 or email him at sas22@roadrunner.com
It takes specific attention and dedication to achieve curing cancer, and it is certainly possible in our world today. Thanks for your support.
