I have long been a fan of Lee Trevino, I just like his style. Recently I was having trouble with my game, and was doing the YouTube thing late one night and came upon some old Lee Trevino instructional video's, and clinic videos. It helped me a lot. So well wandering around eBay I found three of his books available. One was an old library copy, one came from the U.K. and the other was just available. I typically don't keep hard copies of books that aren't autographed. After reading the three books, I really enjoyed them and knew I would want to keep them.

I sent the books with a self addressed return envelop to Mr. Trevino. The note on the website says to allow about 3 months for a return. When I sent them he was playing an event along side the Bass Pro Shops Senior Tour event, so I expected to see the books back in around July. Came home today and the books were in my mail box all three autographed.

Very cool that a legend with a very busy schedule will take the time to fulfill an autograph request. I am overjoyed, I respect and value his time, and appreciate his efforts. The books I enjoyed are now even more special.

Cool story! I loved watching the Senior PGA Tour doing those years when Trevino was so dominant. He was always fun to watch.

Absolutely amazing story.

I’m sure there are many Trevino fans among us GKers.

If you ever want to unload a signed Trevino book, let me know!

Very Cool.

Though I eventually became a bigger Jack fan in my teens, Lee Trevino was one of my idols growing up. Not a coincidence that I go by 'Lee' since age 10. Remember seeing him at a tournament at Winged Foot in NY in the 1980's. He had a sharp tongue and quick wit. We have a few things in common. ;-)

Fan? I'm a not . . . he's on the same list as Feherty. Nice story though. Sorry, I just had to put that out there after reading Kevin's post.

Like that story.

My grandfather who introduced me to the game gave me my first pair of golf shoes Lee Trevino model. Black and white with the flap over the laces and steel cleats.

Count me as a fan.

The postage wasn't cheap, but all you need to do is buy a used book on eBay, and then send it to him with a prepaid return envelop and he will sign it. So cool.

Why the man is a multiple major champion, has a life time exemption on both the PGA and PGA Tour Champions. Was a major force behind the establishment of the Senior Tour, has encouraged minorities to play, has funded thousands of poor and disadvantaged youngsters in the Texas to have a chance to play the sport and donated millions to St. Jude Children's Hospital over his career.

I am not sure what there isn't to like. Like Arnold he is great with fans, and still in his 80's is hosting a tournament to benefit kids.

Awesome story I will always remember him as a kid as the guy in the Top Flite hat shaking his head in Happy Gilmore.

I loved the humor and personality he brought to golf.
