UPDATE: 3/21
Information is a bit scattered right now throughout the forum threads which is OK. Keith and I reading all the posts, appreciate them and then POSTING if a PUBLIC golf course is closed due to COVID-19 precautions into the Maintenance Alerts sections of the website and Greenskeeper iPhone App. This in addition to posting Maintenance Alerts. The goal is to get COVID-19 alerts fully integrated into the golf course pages.

Your BEST resource already is to view the golf course pages directly like you normally do to view Maintenance Alerts.

This forum thread and others are best used for ALL of us to share information about golf course closures or ones that are open

This is a very unstable fluid situation with golf courses closing and reopening or even closing again. True to Greenskeeper.org's creed "Know Before You Go" we are doing our best and very much appreciate the assistance of the GK Community for information.

---

Things are changing by the minute as more non-essential businesses are being forced or pressured to close in efforts to prevent spread of the coronavirus. I'm trying to put together a master list of known course closures based on the other forum posts. We are all on many course email lists, so please comment below or in the other forum if you see a course closure that isn't listed here. Johnny and I should both be able to edit this list and keep it as the first post for this forum for easy access.

I decided not to list any dates because honestly there's no way to know for sure when certain shelter-in-place regulations will be lifted. They are posting dates now to let us know it's hopefully just temporary, but most closures will probably be longer than we hope. I think the best way is to update the list if courses are known to be back open. We can add and remove them from the list as needed.

If you see announcements or know anything as a course worker, just let us know. Managing all the course alerts individually on the course pages would be really difficult, so this master list gives us all some place to look and share info.

QUOTED  NEVADA
• All Courses?

All courses are SUPPOSED to close however I know some are trying to find a loophole to stay open which is irresponsible.

May or may not be Covid related, but I got an e-mail from Talega saying they are closed 3/23-3/31 for aeration and maintenance.

Interesting about Sacramento. I just called around a couple hours ago and every course I talked to was open with no plans to close, so that ruling must have just come down. We'll have to see over these next few days if it is indeed a full closure in Sacramento County and any other neighboring counties. Thanks for the updates.

Received e-mails from these courses about their being closed until further notice.

Terranea,
Steele Canyon,
Indian Wells Celebrity and Players,

Had an appt. this morning, and can confirm that the following courses did not have golfers on them Friday 3/20 just looking over the fence as I am driving down the street.

Marriot Valley
Desert Willow Firecliff
Desert Willow Mountain View
Morningside

The goal has always been long and straight! But since I can no longer hit them long, hopefully straighter could be achieved more than occasionally?

the order came at about 11am.

if i owned/managed a golf course, i would stay open, with the following modifications:
1. close pro shop: collect payments and do checkins through a window, or possibly collect payments/reservations all online
2. limit golf carts to one per person
3. keep kitchen open for take out only
4. keep skeleton crew: 1 proshop, 1 cart person, 1 maintenance/rover, minimum greenskeeper crew, possibly not everyday
5. make rule: always leave flag in

i read somewhere where one golf course somewhere in the midwest is putting out a honor box to collect payments. you can play, honor system to pay.
