Nike VR_S Covert Driver The Nike VR_S Covert Driver is the worlds first high speed cavity back driver. The High Speed Cavity back design provides longer and straighter shots while Nikes patented FlexLoft allows for independent face angle and loft adjustability. The 430cc head is adjustable from 8.5 to 12.5 degrees of loft and has three face angle positions. Enhanced 2013 NexCOR Face Technology gives the deep face head a 45% larger hot zone for more distance and workability. The VR_S Covert also features a Mitsubishi Rayon KURO KAGE Black 50 shaft. High Speed Cavity Back Technology: The High Speed Cavity Back in the VR_S Covert is a technology used in irons, and now brought to drivers, fairways and hybrids for the first time by Nike Golf. The result is greater distance and control. The Cavity Back is visible from the sole view of the club, but is covered by the crown to be more pleasing at address hence the name Covert. By incorporating this new hidden geometry into fairway woods and hybrids, Nike Golf engineers have been able to move the weight of the club to the corners, raising Moment of Intertia (MOI) to increase forgiveness and add even more distance to off-center shots. FlexLoft Technology: Nike Golfs FlexLoft is a simple pull, turn, and push/tighten mechanism that allows for an intuitive adjustment system. The patented Dual Axis adjustment allows golfers to choose their loft and face angle independently of each other by de-coupling loft from face angle. This all leads to an optimal ball flight for more distance as well as enhanced workability. NexCOR Face Technology: The NexCOR face technology is designed to deliver faster ball speed and longer shots from a wider area of the face. NexCOR creates more speed at impact by employing variable face thickness that increases the ball speed off the clubface, especially on the bottom half where players are most likely to make contact.

I have been playing golf hardcore for about not quite a yr. Am down to the high 70s-mid 80's depending on putting day from the exec tees. The Covert has given me the option to play the tips. I started off with an older 10.5* snake eyes which carried 235 with a fade. Wifey got me a 10 degree Hippo from a garage sale. That one got me up in the 240 carry range with a fade. Last hole one day I hit my friends new Covert and hit an absolute pizz missle. 1 hit and I knew I had to have one. Got it for Father's day and started tinkering. Even at 9.5* I was still getting too much air time. (A problem with my other drivers). I dialed it down to 8.5* and the missles began to launch. I am now carrying 250+ and getting more roll. Last night I averaged all my drives and came up with 262. Had 300 wind assisted, and a 310 no wind help along with my normal 265-270s. 2 230s, 1 into the wind brought the average down. It is an absolute crusher. Haven't been playing long enough to make a comment on "forgiveness", but toe hits stay in the fairway. When I switched drivers I was hoping for 10-15 yds extra. I got 20+ with this thing and once figured out, it goes straight as an arrow. The red may not have been the best choice but I am fine with it. The stock shaft is a little long. I am 6'1" and I choke to halfway on the grip. This is the HAMMER.

I bought this driver in Feb when it 1st came out. Used it for 2 rounds at 10.5 degree and neutral setting. I thought the ball launch was too low and was getting crap from my playing partners about buying it. They were using R1 and were really long and straight, so I traded the Covert in for a R1. Got fitted and everything, they put me at 12 degree. I hit the R1 terrible even at 12 degree so I started to think back about the Covert. I remembered I did hit it straight, just very low, so I bought a 2nd one and adjusted it to 11.5 degree, neutral. Wow what a difference. Nice ball flight, and STRAIGHT, and now I am right there with my partner in length, this is long. The only time you miss the fairway is when you hit it bad. If you want a VERY straight club off the tee, then give this a try but take the loft up to 11.5 Don't think you have to be macho and use 9.5 or 10.5 it really works. The other thing I did was cut the shaft down to 45" since I am only 5'8" Wow did that make a difference Also read up and consider the shaft length. The 45" length is the same as the 910D2 that I was using and I hit that fairly well, just not nearly as straight as the Covert. I highly recomend this the Covert.
