Love the white head! $249 new at GolfSmith currently.
Sunday October 21, 2012
I'm a traditionalist when it comes to golf clubs. I've never been a fan of crazy color schemes, and my last driver was a Titleist 909D. That being said I find the white head easier to align.

GolfSmith has these on clearance for $249. I feel that at $249 price point you won't find a better driver.

I'm a fan
Sunday June 3, 2012
Was using Calloway IQ Driver that I bought two years ago. I could hit it well, but had a difficult time knowing where it was going to go. I switched to the R11 about a month ago and went from 250-260 yrds to 265+ and down the middle or with a little overdraw to the left. I'm a fan !!!

Old guy goes Long!
Tuesday May 1, 2012
I purchased this driver about 6 weeks ago and really like it. First, the ball just leaps off the face of this driver - I'm averaging about 15 yards longer off the tee - went from 250-260 now to 265-275 with occasional strikes 290+ - never thought this 50-something year old man would ever be hitting over 300 yards - this club made it possible. Love it!

More hype than performance
Friday May 13, 2011
Was in a Golf Galaxy store picking up some new grips. Thought I''d try out this much hyped R11. Rep set me up on the simulator cage and keep adjusting the club until it was maxed out for my sing and age. I'm no expert but I was 8 hdp with mussel backs 20 years ago and now much older I'm a 19 hdp with cavity backs. I was getting total drive of about 235 with the R11. I noticed in the used driver barrel next to the cage was a style Cobra and a Tour Edge Carbon Max I had once owe both. A few swings on the monitor with the Cobra and I was immediately reminded why I sold it. However the Tour Edge was giving me 250 dead center of the fairway. The rep checked all his settings but that Tour Edge continued to out perform the R11. The shaft on the R11 is .75 inches longer so I used it chocked up and full length to make the comparison fair. The R11 would have me in the rough all too often, the Tour Edge was always with 10 yards right or left of center. The Tour Edge was $45, an 8 on 10 scale, and had the hardcover. The Tour Edge went home with me not the R11. I have seen this same thing happen with others and myself with Woods and Irons. There is a lot of pressure to have a new model or improvement to a current model on the manufactures every year. And not all changes are for the good, but thats were the marketing team comes in and sells us the hype. There should be a truth in advertising law that covers golf equipment. One last thing the R11 was on sale with a $50 discount. The store manger offered me an additional $100 off on the R11, total discount $125. Thats retails pricing, the distributor and the manufacture have to make a profit too. Anybody think todays equipment is way over priced or is it just me?

TM R11 Driver
Saturday February 12, 2011
Ok guys ... here is an honest review from a guy who is not partial to ANY USDM clubs! Normally, I am a big fan of JDM equipment but, I had to see for myself what the hype was all about with the new TM R11 driver. After more than a few LM sessions, I decided to pick up the TM R11 (9*) and the Burner 2.0 SFTP (9.5*).

Firstly, there is no performance advantage in the stock offering between the regular R11 and the R11 TP. You are paying $100.00 more for a different head cover, the ability to order different shafts (upcharge) and the inside diameter of the hosel being .350 versus .335.

A standard R9 tip will fit fine into the new R11's. So, IMHO if you are planning to change out the shaft, save yourself the $100.00!

Appearance
At first glance, this driver is "sexy." At address, you will definitely see the contrast between the white body and the black face. It really does help with aligning the ball. For some, this may be valuable. Some may even claim veritgo but, it was fine for me.

Performance
The stock Fujikura Blur shaft has been called the "Blah" and I can see why. I had a chance to hit both the non TP (60g) and the TP (65g) versions (S-flex) of the shaft. I don't understand how TM can offer this shaft as the only stock offering. At least Titleist offers 4-different shafts for their new 910 line of drivers. The Blur was really whippy for me and my shot pattern on the LM and the range had a wide dispersion pattern. Ultimately, I had a string of great shots when I forced myself to slow down my swing.

I tried all of the adjustments and found the most consistent setting at Lower Launch for the shaft, Closed position for the ASP and the factory weights in tact. Still, this driver did not live up to the hype for me. Maybe, I was expecting way to much but this driver could not kick my Kamui out of the bag.

However, I do think this head will be great if shafted with something other than the Blur. Maybe my Ilima - The shaft is the engine, right? The back spin numbers were definitely higher with the R11, ball speed averaged in the mid 150's and mid 15* launch.

Overall, it is a good driver. Best of 2011? I don't think so. I think TM did an excellent job marketing this driver and maybe the ghost finish will end up being just a fad. So, for those of you on the fence looking for a new driver may want to really think about this purchase. TM is planning to release the 460cc version later. And, if the white driver ends up being a fad you may want to consider looking in the "pre-owned" bin at your local shop because that is where this one will most likely end up.

Enjoy!

Feels so good !
Saturday February 12, 2011
I was very fortunate to test drive the R11 and came away very impressed with this club. It looks great and feels just has good as it looks and although I was in a simulator I had a better feel compared to the last two drivers I had purchessed in the past both from Callaway. Now I am going to wait till I try out the new Callaway and Nike drivers comming out but the R11 looks like it is going to be the one. The club just feel right from the moment you grip it. See you all at the golf convention in Anahiem at the end of the month !!!!!!!
