Bobby Jones Hybrid by Jesse Ortiz with Graphite Shaft : Using the same technology as the fairway metals, Bobby Jones hybrids are designed to replace the hard-to-hit long irons. Rather than designing hybrids that look like irons, Jesse Ortiz philosophy takes advantage of the fairway metal s low and deep center of gravity, its wide bodied triangle-of-stability (TOS), and its versatile contoured sole. Instead of using the homogenous shape of most hybrids long, flat leading edge Jesse Ortiz has created a more traditional shape hybrid. It is a throwback to the old Cleek or Mashee. These clubs were designed for maximum performance, with the ability to get the ball out of every type of lie, whether it be a divot of fairway bunker. Bobby Jones hybrids are also shorter in length to increase accuracy and truly be long iron replacements not fairway metal alternatives. All clubs feature a deep, translucent Jaguar Racing green color, proprietary JS-6 and JS-7 shafts, and classic, heavy knit head covers. The Bobby Jones by Jesse Ortiz Hybrids were the only clubs to receive outstanding marks in the categories of Performance/Playability and Personal Preference in the 2006 Golf Digest Hot List. Jesse Ortiz Hybrids outplayed the Callaway Fusion FT-Hybrid, Nike CPR, Ping G5, TaylorMade Rescue Dual and six other clubs.

today at the range I got to demo one of these hybrids in a 3I and let me say it was long. it put shots for my at 240 consistency and I wasn't looking to get that much out of it, I wanted one for about 210/220 full swing. so the 4I wood have been better. the hits were all straight and I could easily work the ball if I wanted too. the flight was higher near the end and fell softly and stayed there. the feel is great and sound is cool too with this ping sound when hit. the look of it for me would take some getting use to as its a little strange. the head cover is funny too. the price too matches the name that precedes it...
there are other hybrids out there that are better priced and do the job just fine. but this one has a great feel through the ball.

What a great rescue club. Out of the rough there is nothing better for getting the ball up and out. This club ( I have the 4H) has a great feel to it. It is easy to swing, and easy to trust. The ball flight is high. I don't use it so much for approach shots from the fairway as I have other options, but out of the rough, or over trees and needing a 200 yard high soft landing shot, this gets the nod. The head cover is cheesy, just a knit sock with a fuzzy ball on the end. With all the fancy head covers they have these days, it looks somewhat out of place. I guess they are going after the classic look. The club is classic thats for sure. It looks fantastic and is a gem. I will have this one a long time. I did get talked into getting the 3H also. After several attempts at the range and a couple rounds on the course, I returned it because it was too close a match with the 4H. It hit the ball very high and so close to the same yardage, I opted to change it with the cleveland Hybore 3I for approach shots over 200 yds. Save some green by buying a slightly used Bobby Jones hybrid. You will not be disappointed in the quality shots this club provides.
