Ping i10 3-PW Iron Set with Steel Shafts : The Ping i10 irons are designed to appeal to golfers who prefer the look of a smaller, blade-style club but still rely on the forgiveness of a cavity back. Its compact head features reduced offset and a thin top rail to give it a players iron look. The rib structure of the Custom Tuning Port (CTP) stabilizes the face and improves feel and consistency. Weight savings from the new cavity and face structure is positioned on the low toe to provide a high MOI ( moment of inertia ) for its blade length. Its CG ( center of gravity ) location creates a low, penetrating ball flight. Features: Players-size head with reduced offset Low toe-weighting increases forgiveness Narrow, cambered sole for enhanced performance through turf Custom Tuning Port (CTP) technology improves feel and consistency Shorter blade length and top rail width provide players club appearance Ascending Weight Technology (AWT) shaft design

i10 irons

All-around great club. Is great for the player looking for the forgiveness of cavity back irons and the accuracy of blade irons. Distance is a little shorter than previous irons used, but increased accuracy and playability more than make up for the loss in distance. Was fitted for the irons, and would recommend being fitted prior to purchasing a new set.

Great iron

Definitly a great choice for all the lower handicappers. As it is a players iron you can't expect the same distance and forgivness as you would in for example a rapture iron. For the type of iron it is y would call it the best in the category. It plays similar to a blade but has more weight therefore it is easier to hit. I've added the s57 W,9,8,7 for more pin seeking shots. I would recommend this combo to players with up to 7 handicap. As a last comment if you ever buy ping clubs be sure to get fitted. Remember they are the best fitters use that to improve your game, trust me it will.

I play these and g 10s as a combo set
Monday July 13, 2009
I have the i10 from the Wedge to a 7 iron and then play the g10 from a 6 to a 4 iron with a hybrid as my three iron. I've never played anything but a traditional set of blades and tried every iron out there. I was playing the Adams A4 which is a great club but something didnt' feel right after a while of playing them. I went back to pings and had these custom made for me. What a difference it makes to custom order clubs. I'm hiting the bal better than I evet have and Ping makes the best options for fitting. I fot these a half inch long witha yellow dot(2 degrees upright) and It's a whole different game for me. I've always hit well and have been a constant 10 handicap, but playing one round with these made me feel like that will all change.

The combo set is great, you can work the lower irons and get tons of spin and basicaly throw darts and then with the g 10s and the higher irons you can have the forgiveness and get the ball up in the air and have great accuracy as well. If you are looking to elevate your game try this combo set.

Smooth As Silk

These clubs almost seem unfair.

It took me some time to get used to the look. I went from Zing 2s to these. That’s like going from a hockey stick to a butter knife. I love the look though. It looks more like a blade.

First of all, you can’t evaluate these clubs hitting off a mat; you need to hit them off the grass. I take a divot when I hit and the first time I hit these off grass was incredible. The feeling at impact was like nothing I’ve ever felt before, much smoother than my Zings. And here’s the most impressive thing for me, even my miss-hits were straight towards the target.

Another thing I like is that the ball stops on a dime. Almost every shot I hit was within a foot of where it landed. Personally I like that better than trying to judge spin or run-out. As far as trajectory goes, I know PING says these have a lower trajectory, but I didn’t notice any difference over my other clubs.

As an experiment, I borrowed 6 irons of the Taylor Made R7 and the Callaway X20s to compare to the PING I 10. For me, there was no comparison. The R7s and the X20s looked big and clunky compared to the I10s and the bottom line is that I just flat out hit the PINGs much better and straighter.

As far as distance goes, they may be a few yards shorter than my Zings, but who cares when you can hit them straight. Plus, I’ll probably hit them longer as I get them more dialed in.

Bottom line: Great set of clubs! I couldn’t be happier. As satisfied as I am now, I think I’ll love them even more after I get about 10 more rounds under my belt.
