We had our top club designer, Pat Simmons, design a putter that not only uses the finest materials and the latest clubmaking technology, but that is also very affordable too. For starters he put the clubface in front of the curved shaft. This progressed face design brings the shaft closer to the center of gravity, making the putter feel more solid. It also helps you keep a smooth swing path from the backswing all the way through the putt. Next he configured a weighting system for the aircraft quality aluminum body. This system consists of precision bored holes, cavities, and in-line and perimeter weights strategically placed to shift the mass from the center of the clubhead. This helps the 415CR resist twisting on off-center hits. Couple this with the center part of the weighting system being a natural alignment channel, and you've got a putt sinking machine.

What a steal
Wednesday June 3, 2009
I got this putter at a Roger Dunn for $15, and what a steal it is for me.

I was using an old pendulum putter that looked like some ugly UFO, and while this putter isn't the prettiest, it works wonders around the greens.

I feel very comfy over my putt and i've been getting long putts very close, and my short putts are no problem now.

mgGolf 415CR Mallet Putter
Sunday July 27, 2008
I have been using 2 ball mallet putters for a while. I had tested several model, and had decided to bite the bullet for a Odessy WhiteHot. I got a flyer in the mail from mgGolf.com for their 415CR putter for $40 with a 60 day purchase price refund, so all I was risking was some postage if I didn't like it. Since I had found nothing at a comparable price at any retail or online outlets, I ordered this putter.

The first thing I noticed when taking the putter out of the box was the unique grip. They have placed a flat board in the grip, and angled it to the center of the face of the club, not parallel to the line of the club. While this sounds strange, it gives a more relaxed feeling in the wrists, and allows your hands to relax at address and release of the club for a very natural smooth swing.

The next thing I noticed was the size of the putting face and the lack of texture, grooves, or milled lines. The face is totally smooth, and a full 4.5 inches wide. I get a very solid feeling on every hit, and off center hits are not affected by milling or groove line and roll consistently straighter.

The body of the putter from face to tip is also 4.5 inches or 3 balls, for very easy ball/line alignment and truer feeling putts. This putter has definitely given me a lot more confidence in my putting. Overall a great value and a great putter available only at www.mggolf.com.

P.S. I liked their putters so much, when I got a flyer from them for 460CC Square Titanium Driver for $99, I sent off for it too. I will write it up for you next.

I thought I'd had it with mallet putters
Wednesday June 11, 2008
I had come across the 415CR when I was looking at putters and thought "that's an interesting design", but had put off getting a putter for awhile. After talking with ttucker2 (Thanks Troy!) at TheBigDog's May Knollwood outing and hearing him rave about it, I decided it was going on my birthday wish list. My birthday came and so did the putter! :D
The design is really kind of odd - the shaft curves to meet the head in the center on the near-side. Not sure what this accomplishes from a technical aspect, but here's how it feels for me: My putting motion feels a lot more balanced and that pendulum motion that you're supposed to have seems to happen a lot more naturally. I really dig the weight in the back, as I find that I use it, or think I'm using it, to control the actual force applied to the ball. If I "guide" the weight through the ball, I've found my putts are finding the hole more often and when I do miss, they are staying pretty close.
Bottom line, if you want to try a different putter, put the 415CR on your list - for $39.95 new (they also sell returns for less) and a 60-day no-questions-asked return policy, you can't go wrong.
