Went out as a single late morning. Called and talked to a KJ who told me wide open and could hook up a single with a group to play. Found out this wasn't the case. This guy has pulled this one me several times. Same guy has told me that we have "lots of groups for you to join". Most of the guys in the shop are cool and pretty honest but this guy has hosed me several times. Anyway, not ridiculous busy but ...... pretty busy and with no other group to join with. Couldn't entertain the idea of going out as a single in that mess! As I was leaving I ran into a couple guys I played with before and joined them. Course needs some help!! Greens ok but just pelted and every bunker was trashed with one having tire tracks in it. Never saw a marshall ( A WHAT?! ) the entire day. Waited behind a bunch of super seniors who had no intention of letting us through. We finally passed them at the turn missing a hole but worth it as we played 5 holes before we ran into another batch of ancient hackers! Greens were junk on the back with the worst tee boxes and patchy soggy rough. What a shame, the group that manages this course seems to be in the process of running this place into the dirt and they need to do something especially with KJ !

Stopped on my way home from work yesterday. Played chino creek. I was in the rough the entire day....... the rough was the middle of the fairway!
Tee boxes and fairways were 3 to 4 inches long. I use a long tee and still my golf ball was under the grass! Greens slow, bumpy and looked like a head of broccoli!
Driving range grass was more like 4 to 5 inches thick.

Played here last Friday. Course is mediocre at best. Far from the last post I read. I would say it is in better shape than last summer but far from great shape. Tee boxes were either all the way up or all the way back. I play the back so it didn’t matter but they had the markers almost off the back of the tee box. Fairway ok, greens ok and rough shaggy and unkept. Maybe in a few more months but far from great. Driving range was beat as well!

Played yesterday as a single. The course has been on our rotation on and off for a couple years (providing the conditions are decent) It seems to be coming around slowly but some issues in the customer service dept. They will always tell you to come out and they will put you with a group..... like some other courses, they don't. They take your $ and tell you to grab a cart. Maybe in the early morning tee times they do but after 12:00 they don't seem to pair the groups together well enough to keep the pace moving. Unless the foursomes broke apart but seems hard to imagine. Fairwas were really wet so not getting the links roll but at least they have grass to hit from. Greens were good but could be great providing the ball marks get repaired. I will never get this part of just leaving the greent pelted this way. When you don't have ANYONE as a marshall on the course its very difficult to monitor what's going on. Bunkers were so so and most stepped all over. Mens club guys are rude by the way. Be sure to check and see if they have an event ........ then stay away! Nice day though but not much to show except a 5 hour sunburn!

I read a review stating that the course was in very good condition. I would say it was in ok condition at best. The greens are still not great and the overall conditions are a little ragged. The service is good but they do have issues with putting groups together. This is the 3rd time I was at the range warming up and no one came to tell me I was on the tee. After a 40 minute delay they finally paired us with another twosome but ended up behind a slow group of non bunker raking or divot repairing asians. I will play the course again a little later when they tidy the place up a little more. Overall, I would say it was just an ok day with decent weather ...... but far from great! Thanks, FF

Been several years since I played here. Aside from some wind gusts in the high 20's, the round was very good with the course condition in decent shape. Some combo bermuda/rye rough that was sticky and tough to extract the ball from and some thin bunkers. Pace of play just under 4 hrs was very refreshing! Greens were recently cut low and rolled fast. For the most part, very worth the drive but I have seen this place even nicer in the past. Went out as a single and was paired with a couple old guys (70's) who still hit it long and had great games. Played the back blue tees (one in that day) with them. We all shot low 80's w/ several birdies in the group. looking forward to playing again soon.

I hate to write a bad review on my first time but here goes. I called in the morning to see if it was possible to get paired with another group as I was just a single. I was told to come out and it would be no problem to join a twosome at 12:36. I drove the 40 miles to the course and checked in to find that this was not the case. They said to go to the range and the starter would find my group. I spent 45 minutes hitting a few balls and watching several groups come and go. I asked the range ball guy who I don’t think spoke English that I was to join a group but he didn’t understand. I eventually went up to the pro shop and the guys in the shop were on the computer and the starter had gone home. I watched a 5 some tee off and it looked like it was going to be a disaster. I waited for the group to hit and went to the tee myself. I played the first three holes in 45 minutes and left. The greens were pretty beat up with fresh ball marks from the group ahead and the bunker on the left of the green looked like someone used a shovel to get their ball out. This course used to be sooo nice back when it was ran by SCGA............. not anymore! I really don’t think I will ever go back again!!

Really fun course. Some bare spots in the fairway along with some really wet areas but a decent replica of a links course. Greens in decent shape but as usual lots of ball marks. Fun to play but need to play it a few times to understand where and where nit to go. FF
