Another beautiful day in San Francisco and Harding played very good today. Not too busy so pop was whatever we wanted. All conditions very good and up to TPC standards. I guess the only complaint was the range was closed because they are waiting for the city to replace the nets blown down by the big storm back in December. We did not eat at the Cypress Grill but it was fairly crowded and as I understand it, lunch is pretty good there and very popular. Always a joy to play here and today was no exception. Resident rate is $53.00 today.

25Jan15-Sunday-10:48am teetime. Great deal:$55 includes green fee, breakfast, lunch, two beers. Also included 5.5 hour round with front nine taking 3 hours. Good thing it was a nice day. Tee boxes were chewed up, fairways fair with some bare patches, greens were good. Even though conditions were rough, it was a good deal for weekend golf, just need to take in account that we're playing golf so it's all good. Drought may be taking its toll on the grass so with that in mind, a lot of Bay Area courses are experiencing the same problems. We still had a good time.

Played 2nd Sunday consecutively hoping for similar good conditions but alas the cumulative rainfall finally saturated this course. Don't know why this happened but I called the pro shop Friday and was told no plans for cart path only for Sunday. When we arrived, guy at pro shop said it's been cart path only all week. Hmm. Got to the first tee and starter mentioned that foursome ahead of us are good golfers but heavy betters so they take their time. Because of that, a tee time is blocked after them. They were walking so the cart path only did not make them slower but it was a 5 and one half hour round. Never again will we play behind these guys again. Course was very wet on the fairways. Greens were very soft with spike marks aplenty. Rough was grown out so much that we either lost balls or took too much time to locate them. To be fair, there won't be too many courses in better conditions but right now we're going to try other courses.

Played Sunday, December 14, 2014, a couple of days after a mighty storm that dropped 9-10 inches in 24 hours. Cart path only but what a pleasant surprise in that there were only a few areas of standing water allowing very nice conditions from tee to green. POP was a bit slow because of cart path only but I doubt if we could have found better conditions anywhere else in the San Francisco Bay Area that day. Got an internet price of $45 that included cart. Staff was friendly and efficient. Layout has wide tree-lined fairways, much smaller greens than it's sister course Rancho Solano, but they ran pretty smooth and consistent throughout. It wasn't real fast but it broke a lot. Modern layout features water hazards, moderate length, fairly flat lies throughout with plenty of big bunkers to avoid. Nice clubhouse with sports bar and grill. Saw refreshment cart once.
