I played Casa Del Sol in Sunday, June 22 with a 7:37 AM tee time. The starter also was running the pro shop and was certainly not the most amiable individual I've met recently.

The course was in fairly good condition, but not quite as I would have expected. The tees were in OK shape with some divots but not terrible. The fairways had a bare spot here and there but again, for the most part playable. I think the thing that struck me the most was the condition of the greens. It appeared that NO ONE ever heard of repairing ball marks on the greens. It was sad to see that greens that were in otherwise nice shape having divots all over the greens.

The course was otherwise enjoyable, had a few interesting holes, and few tricky greens (divots not withstanding) I noticed that there was an ambassador roaming throughout the course while we were playing. We never got backed up for too long ( a couple of minutes on only a few holes) and we knocked out the round in about 2 3/4 hours. About what I would have expected for a course of this size. I would like to get out there and play a round again when I find time. I just hope that the greens are in better shape then they were on THIS occasion.

I REALLY like this course! I play "Rancho" more often then anywhere else as the course is less than 10 minutes from my home. It gets some pretty heavy play but the groundkeepers do a servicable job keeping the course in playable shape. Outside of the occasional serious divot in the fairways on on the tee box, the maintenance of the course should be applauded. They modifed the green on the 2nd hole a few years back and made it more "player friendly." I miss the challenge of trying to make a putt on the (now removed) undulating surface. The back nine looks and plays completely different from the front nine, and water comes into play on a few holes on both the front and the back. The street to the right of three and four can easily cost you a couple of balls if you hit a serious fade or worse yet if you slice! I think any level of golfer would find this a really fun course to play and it won't cost you an arm and a leg in greens fees to find out!

The course was packed the Saturday I played, (NOT uncommon from what I was told), but the groups ahead didn't hold things up very much. The course was in nice shape considering the pounding it must be taking with all the use. Other than some serious ball marks and divots on several of the greens, I couldn't find anything to complain about! The trap and bunker placement kept the round far from boring and a few fairways bordering the perimeter of the course kept me focused on hitting 'em straight off the tee. It's an outstanding course for the value and I would recommend it to friends in a heartbeat! I'm sure I'll be back when the opportunity arises!

Played the Mesa Linda course at 3 PM on Saturday, May 3. Nice course! The tees were in great shape. It doesn't appear that most of the players care to repair divots on the greens, but the greens are in nice shape otherewise. If you're in a hurry, you'd better play during the week! We did get backed up a bit, and I'm a slow golfer. None the less, a lot of fun. Outstanding for the price! A nice walk or ride, whichever you prefer!
