Played here today 6/15/14, with our son GKers (Mdkaplan90) (Kaupaupili) and Hubby (rstang06) in Honor of Father's Day. Best rate I could find anywhere ($40 w/cart @ 8:25 a.m.)

Course was pretty packed all day. Excellent Driving range/and putting green practice areas. Exceptional customer service (as always) - maybe because hubby (rstang06) plays here on his Saturday men's league ;) Naaaaaaaaah....they're always pleasant. Food at the turn is Scrumptious!

No GPS or any other phoo phoo stuff on carts; but course is very well marked to assist in estimating your approach shot yardage.

Course can be tough. Seems like trouble on every hole; and I have a love/hate relationship with this course. Currently it's more toward the 'like a lot' mindset. ;)

Fairways are still in pretty good shape and were easy to hit off of. Good roll outs with the occasional frustrating kick left/right. GUR areas marked fairly well, and some areas leading up to the greens cordoned off to keep carts from ruining the front approach area. Errant shots result in a 50/50 on if you'll be in some playable lie or scratching your head how to navigate a concrete like dirt patch, scruffy clump of some sort of weed, or ??? It is obvious though that they are putting effort in to improvements. Wind will play a factor on your shots at this course, depending on which direction you're headed toward the green and time of day you play. Mid-day and afternoon winds typically wreaking the most havoc on your tee shot launch of attack. Again, errant shots here are easily consumed by weeds/reeds/water.

Bunkers are also a hit and miss here; but the one I got in/out of (Hole 1 -- I know, nice way to start the day riiiiiiiiight!), other than me not hitting through my '1st' attempt; my 2nd 'way to do it' shot was as a result of a fairly decent amount of playable sand. Unfortunately most are still a hard pack mix, with little to no fluffy sand.

Tee boxes were in pretty good shape. I encountered a few that were a bit uneven where the red markers were placed. But overall not bad. Ball washers on each hole.

Greens were AMAZING, as they are 95% of the time, but don't let them fool you...they have subtleties that will certainly have you writhing in frustration by fractional misses. Greens were very receptive with minimal ball marks. Rolled medium speeds and fairly true with the occasional bumpy line. Kakulia grass forces you to hit to the green, as hopes for a short roll up and on are futile, for the most part.

Pace of play started out fairly slow as there was a twosome in front of us (with a 4-some in front of them), and the twosome became the slow down of 10 min per hole. Yes, I said a twosome. Mainly because it looked as though one was trying to teach the other how to golf, and they were criss cross applesauce all the way up the fairway, from one side of the rough/weeds to the other. They did quit at the turn and the rest of the round was easy breezy. (No I don't have issues with beginners - we all were at one time or another; and after all it was Father's Day and a packed course. )

In summary, my appreciation (fondness) of this course is slowly increasing as my game has on this course as well. It presents plenty of challenge and rewards. The staff are wonderful, the course is ever improving, practice facilities great, Greens the best part of the course, and simply a reasonably priced muni in all respects.

(Note: They have their own online app you can download and you don't have to pay online booking service fees those others charge you; AND with your first online booking there is a coupon you can redeem for a FREE deli sandwich and a bucket of range balls. The more you book, the more points you can accumulate to go toward discounted green fees.) Now THAT's Good Business strategy. Wonder if they read 'that' book ;)

we played in the GK Event yesterday 6/14/14. Another FABULOUS GK Event Outing; at another wonderful Desert course.

Weather was quite bearable and the ice/water stations throughout the course were a wonderful and necessary relief. Hydration the key during summer rounds in the middle of the day. Wind stayed away, the slight breeze helped keep temp to low 100s, and the course delivery of iced/lavender scented cool down towels mid-way through our round - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh Priceless!

Love the practice area on this course, as well as the EXCEPTIONAL Customer Service - "Top Notch" from greeting to farewell. Love the GPS system and ice cooler feature on each cart.

Tee boxes were nice, level/lush. Fairways rolled out nicely with seldom an unrepaired divot. Rough was lush (1-3 inches), and I actually almost preferred hitting from it versus the fairway. Bunkers and Greens were not necessarily a consistent factor on the Mountains track. I've played the Firecliff track in a prior GK Event, and even though that course has more bunkers overall, they were consistent from one hole to the next/one bunker to the next. Mountains course bunkers (from consensus of those in our group that found themselves in them), were not consistent. Some were a deep/fluffy sand (4"); some were a 50/50 mix of fluffy top 2 inches and firm underneath; and others a little on the hardpacked watered down side - maybe 1/4 inch depth. Greens were a little befuddling to me. Two types of grass/in between growth??? Seemed like folks were dragging their feet and leaving a lot of scuffed up footprints which made it tough to execute a smooth rolling line to the cup. Not a lot of unrepaired ball marks though (a true testament to GKers always fixing them) :) Course apparently had been aerated and at times you'd find yourself in an aeration hole, but lies were still playable overall.
Bottom-line, another well executed GK Event. Some awesome long hitters in this group, and it was obvious everyone had a good time. Two newbie GK Eventers in our group and I like to believe they had a Great time as well. You just can't go wrong with GKers.
Even if you're not playing your 'A'-Game, the camaraderie is what keeps us coming back for more. :) Many Thanks to Johnny for putting this excellent venue together, and GKer kg1791 for the assist with GPS set-up on our carts and the Freebie Golf Balls. You're the Best!!

rstang06 and I had the day off so what better way to spend it than Golfing, Right!? (Too bad my A-Game decided to stay home - again! :( 1/17/2014 = Tee Time 8:30a.m., but didn't get sent off until 8:58 behind a bunch of 4-somes (we were sent out as a twosome; initially we were going to get paired with another twosome, but they were late/no show; hence why we didn't go out on time --which wasn't a major issue for us. By the 2nd Hole a Single behind us joined us and what a pleasure. Added to the overall enjoyment of the round. Temps in the 80's today. Arrived early to hit some balls on the grass driving range. $39 ea to play with cart and tokens for bucket of range balls. Pro Shop staff/Check-in was Great, as always. Still not Tip Top course conditions; but it was obvious they've been watering the fairways, (which look as though they were aerated within the last month, BUT rstang (who plays there in the Saturday Men's League) told me it was aerated over 3 Months ago, and it takes that course 3-4 months to recover. The frost, typical for this time of year, and amount of play, impacts the rate of recovery significantly. A few more weeks to a month (weather conditions hanging in there like the last week or two + a little more water and I believe the fairways will obviously play up nice. As is, even miss hits will result in good rolls for distance. Greens on this course are most noteworthy...they really try to manage them well. Rolled medium/fast throughout the day. Some greens a little shabby, but still rolled fairly consistent. A little bumpy at times, and the subtleties will keep you scratching your head in disbelief and frustration. Bunkers looked better than our last visit but I didn't get to test them out personally. Rough was scraggly, thin, hit or miss. Cart girl made her rounds today and was Very Pleasant and friendly, as were all the greens keepers, like busy lil bees, working diligently to improve/maintain course conditions. Certainly worth the price, and pace of play was fair at just over 4 and 1/2 hrs. Still a challenge no matter how frequently you play!!! Recommend early day tee times as the wind plays a factor on this course mid-day/late afternoons. Nice to see they have put up invisible line barriers adjacent to the 9th and 18th holes which, for the most part, keep the Coots off the greens. Coot Poop No Bueno!! ;) Just this novice golfin gals two cents worth :)
P.S. Nice New golf balls in the ball dispensing machine :) and the Breakfast sandwich from the Snack shop was SCRUMPTIOUS!!

Tee'd off 1/4/14. Tee Time: 11:40. Weather was beautiful! Pace of Play for this course is touted at 4 1/2, but today (due to a mini-tourney several groups ahead of us), POP would be more like 4.45, which was more accurate. Luckily got our 18 in before dark. This facility is simply beautiful, tucked away within the gorgeous homes/valleys/hillsides of Fallbrook. Excellent facilities/Semi-Private course. I had called in the past to see about using my coupons; and staff didn't seem overly friendly/seemed more annoyed than anything, but I will have to say, upon check in with the Pro Shop on this morning the two gentlemen that assisted me were very accommodating, entertaining, and started my morning off with a chuckle & smile. Note: if you want to use the driving range, you need to pay an additional $5.00. The range is a short drive away from the clubhouse (you will see it on your right as you approach the turn right into the course parking area). The Chipping/Practice Bunker area is up the hill from the driving range. I didn't go check it out so cannot report further on it. There is a large practice green adjacent to the clubhouse. The Snack Bar is tucked away at the end of the back side of the bar/special events building; which is adjacent to the cart path when transitioning the turn. Carts are quick/responsive; however not equipped with GPS. Onboard ball/club washers, cooler w/ice, and trash basket under the seat. Starter (Steve) was Very Informative; Very Friendly; and added to the pleasant experience prior to teeing off. This place is Very sensitive about its protected areas and makes no bones about you NOT going off into them to search for your ball. Everything is to be treated as a lateral hazard to keep the POP moving...sooo be prepared (i.e. bring extra golf balls), unless you're a straight away hitter. Anything to the right or left and you're typically going to find some trouble on a majority of the holes. Blind shots on many as well as Forced carries. Not my cup o tea personally; but I wasn't hitting my best anyway. Fairways were typical for winter conditions - VERY tight, so had to hit my irons vs hybrid/fairway wood. Missed hits could result in a good roll for distance at least. Was easier hitting out of the rough (just my opinion on this days round and course conditions). Men...you certainly have your work cut out for you from the Blue tees. We played today with fellow GKers (Bsparks/Brian and the Tobster/Tobi -- always Fun Fun Fun regardless of what we shoot) :) Course has some gorgeous views; especially from their gimmicky Par 3 with the bunker right square in the middle of it...what's up with that? Neat, Yes...but I can see golfers cachunking the green up trying to chip their ball over the bunker when they find themselves on the wrong side of it...again...just my thoughts about it. Interesting Hole. Bunkers were quite nice (if you like playing in the sand box), as there was plenty of sand in the ones I visited. Greens were large, had major undulations, and were Fast/slightly bumpy. Some were Firm, Some were Soft which made it difficult in itself as you never knew if your ball was going to check or bounce and run off the back or side. Course throughout seemed to always slant left to right or right to left...not many flat areas and well hit straight away tee shots would typically roll to either side. May try this course some other time in the future, when the fairways are in their prime. Course sees a lot of play as evidenced by the many divot marks (repaired), throughout the fairways. Starter Steve made his rounds a few times later in the day, Marshaling the field, and again offering a smile and "How are you enjoying the course?" I think my sad face spoke volumes as the course was kicking my 6. :( Cart Person came around several times and was also very pleasant. This Course is well worth a try and we may opt for another go at it sometime in the future...if the price is right ;) Having prior course layout knowledge is definitely a Plus!! Tobi and Brian were given a course booklet; but we weren't as special I guess ;) GREAT time with fellow GKers, as always. Just this novice golfin gals opinions. :)

rstang06 and I started our New Year 1/1/2014 = Tee Time 8:30a.m. (Temp. 34 degrees/Frosty but thawing with the sun). $39. rate w/Cart and Practice Balls. Pro Shop staff/Check-in is exceptional as always. They always make you feel welcome. Driving Range is nice (grass), and there is a putting green adjacent to 1st Tee, and over behind the clubhouse (w/ a chipping area as well). Typical Winter brown out conditions, but not unplayable. Sun warmed up the course (and us) quickly, and by the 5th hole, we were finally getting our groove on (okay...maybe it took me til the 11th - my first Par of the morning). Bunkers were actually in pretty good shape (ones I found were easy to hit out of with plenty of sand...which was a little damp but again, still soft enough..and well raked). Rough was patchy, thin, hit or miss. Greens were firm, FAST, and somewhat bumpy. Very subtle breaks which were very difficult to read. Never saw so many well hit putts get there just to lip out around and back at you...frustrating. My least fav hole of the course #12...you better stay right or else. Tough hole that punishes even a well hit ball up the left side as the fairway slopes to the left and the cart path will funnel the ball back down the hill toward you and the tee. Hit your second shot too long over the back of the green and you're in for one heck of a shot back down and on to the green (which if too much, will roll all the way off and down the front face of the green/fringe). Oceanside is a Great muni and fares well with the amount of play it sees. Quaint little clubhouse and restaurant, and staff that are very friendly. No GPS on carts, ball washers on each hole, and no cart girl today, or during the week, but was told she is present on the weekends. Certainly worth the price, and pace of play was great at only 4hrs. A challenge no matter how frequently you play!!!

12/28/13 -- 8:08 a.m. Tee time. Arrived early and our 4-some was sent out @ 7:25 (we had 2 twofer coupons for unlimited same day replay w/lunch, so the Pro Shop set us up for our follow-on tee time of 12:35. I'll add here that the entire staff here at San V are EXCEPTIONAL!!! They truly take pride in customer service and it shows. Course is located out in a very scenic remote area of Ramona, nestled in its rolling hills. Weather was chilly upon arrival with the sun warming us up around lunchtime. Wind kicked up just briefly mid-day. POP for first round was 4 hrs, and POP for 2nd 18 was about 4 1/2. There was a back up off the 10th tee (typical area of slowdown due to folks making their pit stops at the turn)...our 4-some was reduced to a twosome as our sons called it a day. Then, due to the slow down in pace, we ended up playing in with a 3some ahead of us at the 11th, which was nice and we still managed a great tempo of play and finished at 5pm (thought we were going to have to affix flashlights to our head for a minute) :) Today the practice putting greens were not representative of greens out on the course...practice greens were 'Fast' and greens out on the course in fair to good condition overall. Several showed signs of either animal munchies damage/disease/or from what one person mentioned...the course had hired another company to do aeration resulting in major damage to some. In particular the green on Hole 12...that was horrible. Coots/and other water fowl are in full swing on the courses this time of year, and along with them pooo everywhere/anywhere near the water; so be careful where you set your clubs down and step--Yuck! Tee boxes were in average condition, mostly level, divot marks which were for the most part addressed with fill. Bunkers weren't fluffy sand, but they were easy (on average) to hit out of...a couple were thin on hard pack/clay. Fairways were great for this time of year, again divots (typically repaired), with thin spots here and there. Rough was of moderate length/lush but thin in some areas as well. This course poses challenge for the long hitters with tight fairways and penalties for straying left or right. Course runs adjacent to homes, roads, and are lined with beautiful trees (protected Oaks), rocks, and OB ditches. Pro Shop has recently been renovated and is now open (Verry Nice), Snack Shop makes some AMAZING sandwiches. We never saw a Cart Girl allllll day. Carts are not equipped with GPS, but they are quick/comfy and easily handled our 2 rounds of golf with no slow down issues. Area for parking carts and pedestrian traffic around the Pro Shop/Snack bar areas can/does get quite congested. There are ball washing stations on every hole, and bins with refill divot mixture throughout the course as well. Bunkers were usually raked. Greens as mentioned earlier were fair overall...with several experiencing some bare/diseased? areas. Not a lot of unrepaired ball marks for the amount of people that pack this course every weekend. However, our 2nd round did see more ball marks needing repair than the morning's round. Green speeds rolled medium to fast, with occasional rolls true lined to the hole suddenly exiting stage right or left at the hole (frustrating...but hey that's the game of golf) :) Subtle undulations throughout. We truly do enjoy this course; its surrounding beauty; its pleasant staff; and the care folks that work here and play here obviously put into it to help keep it that way. A side-note on the practice facilities: Driving range is off the back end of the parking lot/down from and adjacent to the outdoor pool area. Mats, not grass, into a short range area which runs adjacent to the 9th fairway (as a result of its location you will run into range balls in the fairway from errant practice shots). Chipping area, Yes they have one, but I haven't used it (it's located down the hill, off behind the 1st tee box and 9th green). So warming up upon arrival -- make sure you have plenty of time to locate areas to get your practice on. :) Will continue to watch for good deals offered at this course. Truly Truly enjoy it. Just this novice golfin gals opinion. :)

Played 12/15/13, Sunday, with SBogey, CPennBo (Happy Bday), and rstang06. Had an all day play coupon, but we met up for 1130 tee time due to our skeds. Beautiful day but EXTREMELY WINDY...constant 15mph w/gusts up to 30!! High Pressure/Santa Ana conditions. rstang06 and I have never played this course, so it was a major Plus to have fellow GKers with prior knowledge/insight of the course's many 'hidden layouts'. If you can hit it down the middle here you're going to be good to go; provided you can navigate around the deep bunkers protecting approach shots to the greens. OMG the Greens!!! Still having shudders over the fact there wasn't a one that didn't have you second guessing the numerous slopes/tiers/and tricky pin placements, not to mention speed variances. Perfect roll to the hole and then off it went left/right! I pride myself on being a pretty exceptional putter, but these greens humbled me quickly. Was somewhat disappointed to see the numerous ball marks left unrepaired by earlier golfers...just Unsat! >:( Tee boxes were for the most part level and lush. Several were quite unlevel though (Red Tees especially), and fairly divotted up. Fairways were good overall and still pretty green (not browned out as typical for most courses this time of year). Bunkers were 50/50...some were 50 rocks/pebbles and 50 sand; others were 50 water puddles/50 wet sand; and others were 50 fluffy sand/50 hard pack...so you got your fair share of options to practice getting out of. ;) Carts were not equipped with GPS, which this course really should look at investing into due to the many hidden greens and severe doglegs. Several holes were hard to see where golfers were in front of you, posing great possibility of getting hit up on/in to. Missed hits on this course on either side were penalized by scrub shots/lost balls. The water hazards on this course (Legends), were mainly dry (obviously fill with rains/run-off), with exception of Hole #18. That green was just Nasty!! Coot/Duck and who knows what other kind of feces squirted all over it...Water fowl are just that...Foul!. But despite that the course was enjoyable, a bit frustrating, challenging, very serene/scenic, and full of surprises. We saw a beautiful Coyote and Arnold Schwarzenegger BOBCAT on the same hole. Coyote had gone one way, and Bobcat came strolling up and across the rough in back of green, then up past our carts into the bushes (while we were on the green). Amazing! Cart Girl came around frequently (I believe we saw her about 4 or 5 times), which is important as the Legends track is one large circle with no adjacent running holes or option of stopping in at the Clubhouse. There is a Halfway Snack Shack at Hole #10; however, it is/has been Closed for some time. No ice chests on carts, but there is a ball/club washer. Practice facilities are nice. Grass Driving Range and separate, fairly large putting and chipping areas. Snack bar a little tricky to find from the Pro Shop. Note: Their restaurant Closes early Sundays (a little disappointing as I was ready to indulge on the exquisite looking food items I checked out on their website menu earlier), so plan accordingly food-wise. We didn't see the Starter until we tee'd up and then he came up and provided us with scorecards (none were on either of our carts). Scorecards provide some insight into the layout of the holes, and pin placement (which the Starter informed us of as well). Starter was friendly and courteous. Pro Shop staff at check in was very pleasant and patient (as I had only brought one coupon versus two, so I had to use their wifi and pull up the other info on my cell phone). The overall beauty of this course and facilities are simply wonderful. A decent challenge for players of all levels. Truly enjoyed this course, and the ability to play with other Great GKer friends. We managed to get in all 18 on Legends, and 4 more in on the Champions before the darkness/cold/wind made us surrender to the gorgeous fire red sunset sky. Would like to try this course again (without wind, and a little earlier in the year)/will certainly be keeping an eye out for other great deals. :) (Note: my Rated conditions are too low...don't know how I goofed that up...not a 5.0; more like a 6.5/7.0) Just this novice golfin gals opinions.

12/8 -- Another year end Fantastic GKer Event at a Top of the Line Golf Resort. Was great to meet up with familiar GKer faces, and get acquainted with members we hadn't had the pleasure of meeting yet. Upon arrival I recommend driving in/around to the bag drop off area, and then go park in the self parking lot, as it is quite a little jaunt trekking in with a heavy bag. (Note: They do have a valet bag drop-off/vehicle parking option as well). Facilities were simply gorgeous, and views from the Pro Shop/Restaurant and throughout the course, were breath taking. Staff were all very personable, welcoming, and professional all day.
The putting challenge area was fun, but didn't lend to obtaining a true idea of what to expect out on the course, and I don't believe that's the idea of it any way...was fun to play with fellow GKers while awaiting our start time. There is however a very large putting area up adjacent to the 1st Hole and Starter. The Starter was very welcoming and informative, letting us know of the Indian burial grounds to be considerate of (marked by green/white stakes), and various other need to know/good to know info. I was a little surprised to see the driving range/practice area for this type of resort. You hit off of dual layered worn mats laden with leaves and dirt?! You had to be careful if you were hitting off the mats at the far end as there is only a slight bank to catch your errant hits from going out into the adjacent main road and industrial buildings close by (no golf net, so again, use caution). Guess they serve the purpose though for a quick warm-up. This was probably really the only slight disappointment I had with this beautifully appointed facility. GKer wedge contest was Fun. Neat to actually try out the new Hopkins Wedges (I actually hit it up pretty straight to the target; just not close enough to win one. They had a very nice feel to them and I look forward to possibly investing in one or two in the future.)

Carts were comfortably equipped with GPS, ice chest (w/o water), & ball/club washer. The GPS unit showed where the group ahead of you were situated only on the holes with "blind shots", and I don't understand why not throughout the entire course?? It would've been a nice ability to read location of where & how far up the group was ahead of you as on one or two occasions we didn't see the group at all ahead of us, and unintentionally hit up on them :( - again our sincerest apologies to Group #1 - Sorry.
Tee boxes were nice/lush and level, but showed signs (as did the fairways), that this course is certainly a Very popular one and receives a lot of play (and understandably so). Fairways were lush, and rolled out nicely; especially when you found that magic slot down the middle. Lies were predominantly unlevel (above/below angles) which added to the challenge of this track. Hubby (rstang06) eluded to this as a "target type lay-out" from the white tees (which I don't profess to totally understand), I guess mainly due to the majority of the divot damage localized within the same areas of each fairway; which were predominantly Par 4s. Only 1 Par 5 and 1 Par 3 on each 9. Bunkers were plentiful and really contributed to how you shaped your shots to/in and around the greens. Lovely, fluffy, smoothly raked, sand. A few were thick/heavy due to the prior day's rains, but overall, the ones I landed into, were very nice and easier to chip out of. Greens were large and pretty receptive. I was surprised to see so many ball marks (repaired and unrepaired/or repaired poorly), resulting in slightly bumpy, difficult rolls on virtually every green. With so many subtleties they too (the Greens) added to the challenge of the course. I had so many putts rolling what I thought true to the hole just to divert left/right within the last 3-6 inches!! Sigh. Rough was very nice/lush/and easy to hit out of. Water hazards were plentiful and claimed my fair share of golf balls throughout the day. Water features were visually stunning. I was a bit concerned by the close proximity of how the tee boxes/greens/fairways were to each other in some instances. Even had an unclaimed golf ball come whizzing by us, hit a tree, and land in front of our green from an adjacent tee box. Cart Lady was wonderful, and made her rounds quite frequently. Very friendly and a joy to talk with.
Our round concluded with our equipment carefully handled and placed in a watched area in front of the Lobby, while we indulged in the scrumptious Mexican Fiesta style buffet, in our own private room.
Overall the entire day's events, from start to finish, were simply wonderful. This is a gorgeous facility, breath taking course, and impeccable staff!! Certainly a MUST PLAY while in the Indio/Palm Springs area.

Warning!! Please note: I base my overall review off of the total package/feel of the course And facilities, so know that in checking out this novice golfin gals point of view review - I tend to get a lil foo fooish at times, because that's just how I roll. ;) So, with that being said, and although I'm not a 'Valley Girl' -- OH MY GOD!!! TOTALLY!!!!!!!! -- THIS COURSE HAS SKYROCKEDTED TO MY TOP 10 FAVs...(maybe even Top 5)!! TRULY A MUST PLAY!!!!
Hubby aka rstang06 and I played here on 12/7 with 6 other Fab GKers. Weather actually turned out quite favorable (Forecast called for rain; and the storm front was present in the area), seemed as though the golfin mojo was with us as the rain circled around us and we relished in the sunshine, cool, crisp, subtle winds, throughout the day.
Finding this course for the first time could prove a little tricky as it winds around the backside of Fantasy Springs Casino parking lot with only a few small signs for guidance...thought we were lost for a minute. Quaint little Pro shop with great deals and Exceptional, Pleasant check-in/staff.
Practice facilities on this course are Fabulous!! You get the feel of a top class resort course, rolling up to the starter and off in the distance a gorgeous grass driving range with those perfect white pyramids of new/like new practice balls glistening in the sun. Sigh! Nice, large, putting practice green in perfect condition; the chipping/bunker practice area I didn't check out, but rstang06 said they were very nice as well.
Starter was professional, courteous, and eager to answer any questions and get us out on time. Pace of Play was spot on...GKers in front, and a 4-some followed us. Never felt as though we were held up/or being pushed throughout the round. Gorgeous layout/scenery throughout. Tee boxes were level and lush. Fairways rolled out fantastic!! So nice to have majority of my lies level, virtually perfect, and easy (pristine grass) to hit off of. Nice to see fairway divot marks filled in properly as well. There aren't a lot of water hazards (which I'm happy for as I don't do well around liquid grass!), BUT there were plenty of the other desert course challenges, such as narrow fairways/bountiful bunkers/desert scrub, etc., so you needed to put some real thought into each and every tee shot. Bunker conditions were overall quite good, with plenty of sand. I did get into one that truly tested me as it was a little damp, but it had been raining in the area so that's expected and certainly not a bad thing in my review here. Rough was the BEST I've EVER seen!! (about 2" and quite easy to hit out of). From Tee to Fairway, Rough to Greens -- overall conditions were consistently excellent throughout. Greens were IMMACULATE, cross-cut beauties!! Rolled true to the hole. Firm and of a medium consistent speed. Subtle undulations, but not impossible to read. Didn't find one unrepaired ball mark. I'm sure having GKers playing in front of us made the bunker/green conditions good, as you know we all repair ours (and other players) marks along the way. :) Thank you fellow GKers.
Carts were clean, and well-equipped with a nice GPS system (w/flyover feature), an icebox with water, ball/club washer, and trash bin under the seat. Cart Girl was sweet as peaches and made it around to our groups several times throughout the round. My only head scratcher with regards to the facilities (not the course)...Why isn't there a state of the art Pro Shop/restaurant with even a few slots/poker-gambling tables (as an extension of the casino)??? I'm thinking that would be the icing on the cake to have a place for golfers to come, eat, shop, hang-out, and even gamble before/after their round (if they were so inclined). Have a large meeting room to accommodate large golf venues right there and who knows...maybe an upcoming year-end GK Event :)
This course should be at the TOP of your 'must play' courses while in the Palm Springs area. The price to play was unbelievable; The conditions truly Amazing; and Staff professional and pleasant. Thank you Johnny GK and Eagle Falls Mgr Willie for the opportunity to play such a beautiful course. We truly Loved this course, and will certainly be coming back to play again every chance we get. :) Just this golfin gals thoughts.

Golfed on Sun., 11/24, 1107 tee time (got sent out @1030ish, by ourselves = 2some)
Used a coupon so for all intent purposes the price was right for two -- so rating based off of 'get what you pay for' scenario.
Spoke with the pro shop prior to booking...was informed course had been aerated last week of October and in good shape. Starter was pleasant as always, and let us head on out early since no one was on the tee box. Was advised the course was pretty full ahead of us and could be slow at the turn. Your head needs to be on a swivel on this course due to cross hits by others over into adjacent fairways throughout. Bunkers weren't the greatest, but adequate to get the ball out. Pace of Play was just over 4 hrs, and we didn't encounter slowing until Hole #6, with lengthier waits on the back 9 (10/11/12). Fairways were iffy/not consistent at all in the conditions between thin/new growth resulting in one minute on a hittable tuft of fairway and the next in a barren/tight lie. Greens were a bit bumpy and recovering from disease, and plenty of unrepaired ball marks, resulting in medium/slow askew rolls. Sometimes I truly don't understand whether a golfer's headupdabuttitus in lack of taking care of etiquette items (such as raking up bunkers, fixing ball marks on the greens, divot mix in the fairways, and picking up trash) is an oversight, or simply because they felt the course wasn't worth the attention?? Either way it is a major frustration factor to say the least. Just because a course may be struggling doesn't mean the usual course etiquette shouldn't be observed. (Just my tirade and two cents). Yes, course needs a little more work, to be really enjoyable, but I believe they are trying. Would I play it again for the price...Yes, but not anytime real soon. Just this golfin gals opinions.

Played this course today 11/10/13 (for the first time ever) using Underpar.com coupon (2 all day play w/cart and lunch for both for only $69 -- well worth it).
Spoke with the pro shop day before and they indicated the course finished scheduled maintenance a couple weeks prior so was in great condition. Tee time was set for 10:16a.m., and we arrived an hour or so early to warm up; but was sent out early with another twosome (Lovely couple from Canada) (Guys played from the White tees/us ladies played from the Gold). Note: The pro shop is currently under refurb so they are operating out of the equivalent of a closet. There is a nice putting area in front of the clubhouse/snack bar area; and the chipping area is down the hill around corner to the left. We didn't find the driving range until we were finishing up the front nine. It's located at the far end of the resorts parking lot (hit off mats). You are allowed to take the carts out to the parking lot to get/drop off your clubs. NOTE: Carts are not equipped with GPs. Tee Boxes were in excellent condition (level/lush), as were the fairways. Fairways were beautiful grass (not kakuliah), and easy to hit off of. Obviously people cared enough to fix their divots and there were plenty of divot mix refill boxes (as well as water jugs) throughout the course. Bunkers (that I were in) were nicely maintained, easy to hit out of (to me), and again, golfers there obviously cared enough to rake up afterwards. Greens were rolling quite true; medium fast/fast throughout the day. Fairly large greens with slight undulations. Some greens showed either disease or animal damage, but they were being taken care of. I'd say a couple more weeks and all should be perfect. No cart girl/no marshals. The course was packed and once you got in the rhythm of things Pace of Play for this round wasn't bad at about 4 1/2 hours. Weather couldn't have been better. Sunny / mid temps / slight breeze. This course is a hidden gem for this area. Beautiful scenery from several holes. Houses can come into play on a few holes as well. Truly enjoyed the layout, back 9 I felt were a little more difficult, plenty of water hazards, drainage areas, fairly large/numerous bunkers, and mature oaks and several crossover bridges come into play on a couple holes. We really did enjoy this course and look forward to playing there again. Fabulous Folks, Fairways, and Fun Fun Fun -- just this golfin gals point of view. :)

Played Mojave at the Avi as part of a two day tournament (2nd day) on 10/27 shotgun start 0800. Quonset Hut style clubhouse with a well stocked Pro Shop. Wonderful Staff from the bag drop off area to check in to snack/bar area personnel. Nice driving range, chipping/bunker practice areas. GPS equipped golf carts with GPS system, onboard cooler and ball washer. This course just opened a week prior to our event, from their overseed. Rough was punishing with mis-hits into their lush conditions which grabbed and hid your ball. Lots of Bunkers which were adequately prepared for easier transition/exit shots. This course is simply gorgeous...NOT very generous with the forward tees. Greens are medium to large with subtle breaks that challenged each putt. Slow to medium speeds (even downhill rolls well hit would come up short just as the course we played the day before). Again, for having approx 114 players pace of play was great, and most fixed divots/ball marks/bunkers. This is a definite course to play while in Laughlin. A lot of water hazards and plenty of bunkers. Ladies bring your A-Game and eat your Wheaties when tackling this course - just from this golfin gals perspective.
