Played 5-16-06. Course was in fantastic shape. Short track with an emphasis on shot making. Greens rolled slow-medium. Breathtaking views off some of the tee boxes. Only complaint is the lack of a driving range. Definitely worth the greens fees. POP was 3.25 hrs. Will play course again soon.

We tee'd off @ 10AM and played 36 or 45 holes as it wasn't too busy and we had a great time!

Great place to play and enjoy beautiful scenery. Great layout with tons of change in elevation and tricky tee shots.

Absolutely recommend.

This course is sweet! Definitely a shot-makers course, only 6000 from the tips. Fairways were in great condition with only minor bad patches. Greens rolled about a 9 or 10, very quick, but also receptive probably because of the rain the night before. Layout is a little goofy on a few holes (blind tee shots on very short doglegs, holes 15 and 17), but overall the layout is more interesting than annoying/frustrating. The scenery on this course is also amazing, old school wooden briges/cartpaths in between mountains with crazy boulder formations all in a forest-like setting. Tee boxes were not that great, some bare spots and some uneven spots where the markers were set up. Staff was extremely helpful. The course marshall was actually doing something at this course. Believe it or not, he talked to the group in front of us when they fell behind a bit and made sure they didn't slow the pace of play down. Kudos to you Mt. Woodson Marshall, you may be the only marshall on the planet who has ever sped up play, my most sincere and heartfelt thank you.

This is a must play course if you ever down in the area of Ramona, CA.

Played Sunday, Oct 23. Good rate specials if you are willing to miss football. $60 after 10:30,$50 after noon (w cart). Course & greens were in great shape. Maintenance finally paying off.

Played the course on Saturday, September 17th. The course is starting to come in pretty well. They overseed a few weeks ago and the fairways are lokking real godd with only a few tight lies. The greens still need some work. One half of the green is aerated and the other is not. So one half is super fast and slick and the other is bumpy and slow. You better hit at the flag (even at a sucker pin like the 18th over on the back left near the lake) or you will be rewarded with the crappy side of the green. Overall this course is great though!

Ask when you make you starting time, because they won’t tell you !!!!!!
I played Mt. Woodson Wednesday morning with seven friends from out of town who were visiting San Diego, and was very much disappointed in the greens.

J C Golf, you should be ashamed of your self, you had aerated half the green on every hole.
And you don’t tell people when they make there starting times or give them a break on the green fees.

Even American Golf will do that much for you.

This is the forth time this has happen to me at a J C Golf managed course.

2. Encinitas Ranch, May 17,
3. Twin Oaks, July 5,

I am a J C Players Card holder and I don’t like the idea of using my Free Round of Golf (that I paid for) on a course that is not up to there own standards.

I think you should at lest have the decency to tell golfers when they make there starting times and let them decide if they would like to play on half greens, but don’t wait until they get to the course and then tell them after they have driven 40 or 50 miles at $3.00 a gal.
