Been playing golf for over 45 years. Use to have a single digit handicap but age and lack of distance off the tee have caught up to me. I don't play a lot of local courses but I try to go on 3 or 4 day mini golf vacations.

Played on 09/23/20 Course is in great shape for the end of summer. I saw a post from Apreggi about a recommendation out in the Palm Springs area. I saw Johnny had recommended Indian Wells and noticed I had not played there in two years. The tee boxes, fairways and greens are all lush except they all need a haircut. The grass is just a little long everywhere. The bunkers had plenty of sand in them and the sand was soft and not hard packed. I played the white tees at 6000 yards which is perfect for me now, but I did notice almost all the white and yellow markers were together, so I might have played several yellow tees. They have water/ice stations throughout the course and saw the beverage cart gal several times.
Covid 19 precautions are in effect. Cart attendants do not handle your bag and there is a plastic divider in every cart. They do have sand bottles in them. There was a food truck outside serving food but I did not use. The carts have GPS in them and I did notice they have speakers in them.» Close

Played in GK Outing on 09/13 A big shout out to the staff at Desert Willow. A large accident on the 60 fwy. coming in delayed some players arrival time but the staff was very accommodating to the situation. Due to the massive heat wave last week I thought the course was in great shape. Tee boxes were very good. The fairways were great, with the ball sitting up. Not much rough to speak of. The greens were firm. they seemed to putt slower as the day went on, but that might be me battling the heat. Was in two sand traps with the sand being very good.
One of the highlights at Desert willow is the practice facility. All grass driving range, chipping area and large putting green Covid 19 precautions are in place.
Thanks to Johnny for setting this up and to Golf Moose and Linksoul for the great raffle prizes» Close
