Joined the GK crew for the Vivid/Golf Moose event at Candlewood Country Club. First time ever playing here. The course is tucked away in Whittier and I really enjoyed it. The putting contest was a lot of fun, I think we had 4 or 5 guys make the putt and win a Vivid polo. The range is a two tier range, on the left you have a shorter length and on the right you can get up to woods. Overall the course was a great track to play. The tee boxes were a little rough on some of the holes, but not enough to make it impossible to find grass to hit from. The fairways were exactly the grass and cut I like playing off, I call it hitting off a sponge. Every fairway was lush and perfect. The rough was thick and difficult, so much so that sometimes youd have to be standing on top of your ball to even locate it. A few bare areas, but nothing for me to complain about. The bunkers were a little dry and hard in my opinion, maybe thats just how they do the sand here but i think that was my only real complaint. The greens were extremely fast, great challenge. They looks like they had done some work to the greens recently, but it didnt bother me all that much. Overall, this course was fun to play and I would definitely play again if given the opportunity.

Oh and Johnnys group behind us had a hole-in-one!!!!!!

Had the pleasure of playing Dove Canyon as part of the Golf Moose Event. The facility was very accomodating and the staff were all pleasant and helpful. The range would be my only gripe, the area you hit off of is a giant mat but its extremely thin. Course was in pretty good shape considering the heat, there were some brown areas and a few holes were cart path only, but overall it was really nice. The tee boxes were all in pretty good shape, a few of them were a little more beat up but not horrible; fairways were like hitting off carpet and the greens were pretty close to the practice green. You cannot go too far left or right on this course or you will be punished. Greens werent super quick, but had some tiers. Sand was nice and fluffy, no rocks in the bunkers i visited. Pace of play for our group was about 4 hours and 15 minutes. Definitely worth playing if you get the chance.

Played here on 8/2 and was super hyped for the round, but left feeling underwhelmed. There is no driving range, you hit into a big net. I was pretty disappointed with this part of the course. They do have a nice chipping area and two practice greens which seemed to roll true to the course greens. No GPS on the carts, but you can use their free phone app that works OK. The course itself was great, except the bunkers. Tee boxes were nice, flat and lush. Fairways were like a sponge which I really like and the greens were a little shaggy but rolled good enough. Worth playing once for some of the views, however, I dont know that I would be back.

Played here on 8/1 in the morning. Course was in fantastic shape. They have a very large putting and chipping area, along with a driving range. Balls are provided as part of your tee time. Course was in really great shape, tee boxes were flat and lush, same with the fairways. This course isnt extremely tough, as long as you arent going left and right all day and even then, you might be OK. Bunkers were all nice and fluffy, not many rocks or debris in them which was nice. Pace of play was good, we took about 4 hours and 45 minutes. Overall, I think this is one of the best courses out in Palm Springs.

Played here on 7/31 in the late morning. Weather was hot (107) but I had a blast. I had originally went to kill time before finishing my trip to Palm Springs and had decided to just hit balls on the range, however, their head Groundskeeper James twisted my arm into playing and I sure am glad he did. The range was nice, its fully grass and plenty big enough to rip driver. There is a large putting green just before the first tee which rolled true to the course. James let me know ahead of time there was a fungus on a few of the tee boxes and they wouldnt look as good as the rest of the course, and he was right, but it didnt bother my play at all. Course was fun, not very long distance wise and if you dont got too left or right youll end up in play. Some great elevation tee shots, lots of lizards, birds and snakes around. Overall, I would highly recommend playing at Oak Valley if youre in the area, I know I will be back.
