Played 8/29 for $23. Return your cart key & get $1 back. Dobson Ranch is a City of Mesa Public Course. It is in very good shape overall. Fairways are lush. Rough is about 3-5 inches thick and can give you all kinds of lies. Some sand traps had a little water in them, but most were still playable. Greens were very soft & slow. (Heavy rains the night before were part of the reason.)
Dobson Ranch gives you a break from "Desert Golf." It's mostly flat with tree lined fairways. Homes line the edges of the course. It has one draw back of not being very well marked. Red, white, and blue stakes on the edges of the fairway are all you get. Since it's a "muni" don't expect much in the way of service. The Ranger was pretty clueless, but the food hut out on the course was a nice break. Practice facility is nice. Driving range has lights. The remodel of the bar is complete, for those who play the "19th hole." Definitely worth playing for the price. I have some pics of the course I'll submit.

Course was in good shape. Fairways and greens look good after the ovrseed. The greens are large but not very fast. Six different pin placements listed on score card was a nice feature. Lots of trees on each side of the fairway can make recovery from a wayward shot difficult. This course is a good value for this time of the year.

Played 8/16/07. Course was in all around good condition. Older style, flat course with tree-lined fairways. Great value @ $22 to play. Practice facility is nice & it has lights.

Dobson Ranch is a rare traditional golf course in the area. A lot of trees and dogleged holes. It's not easy around and on the greens.
Course is usually very busy as the locals love it. But they keep in good shape everytime I visited. One of the few tracks you can play walking in Arizona.

Tight tree lined fairways. You need to be straight off the tee!
