TaylorMade Burner Superfast 2.0 TP Driver The TaylorMade Burner Superfast 2.0 TP Driver offers exceptional distance with extremely light weight. The aggressive head shape features drag-reducing geometry on the sole with a tapered back end for faster overall swing speeds which translates to more distance off the tee. Ultra-thin Wall technology on the inside reduces the wall thickness in the clubhead to allow for a larger face up front. This creates the biggest face on any TaylorMade Driver which gives you a larger hitting area with a larger sweet spot for more forgiveness. TaylorMade has also included the 2.0 technology, which engineers each club for more control, higher ball flight and an improved sound and feel. The TP version has a lower center of gravity and is designed for the more experienced golfer. Additional Features: Grip: TV Lite Shaft Brand: Matrix
Price: $399.99

My last driver
Monday May 21, 2012
Taylormade Superfast Burner 2.0 TP 9.5* HD6 stiff flex.

This driver has completely changed my golf game. This driver is long. I mean really long. I switch balls between the Pro V1, Pro V1x, and Penta 5. The Penta 5 and Pro V1x combination is the best I have witness so far. I bought mine used from Roger Dunn. The used price was 149.99. I think they might have put on the wrong price. I used the $10 off coupon and after taxes it came out to a little over $150 but considering this driver brand new last year was $399.99 I think it was a great deal. The shaft is a lot lighter than my last Aldila shaft and weighs like 65 or 66 grams. I took the old grip off and slapped on the new black widow silk grip on and the white head and grip combo looks great. At first I was hesitant about getting a white headed driver but the launch monitor said I was carrying it 270 yards. I think it was inflated a bit with the top flight balls but on the driving range at Rancho Park I have no problem carrying the fence at the back of the range. Distance is insane on this driver. My previous 909 D3 driver was pretty good but I tended to hook my drives so the two degrees of open face on the TP model made a big difference. I can set it open at address and use my normal swing and it flies dead straight or with a slight draw. I am now averaging about 260-270 off the tee and being only 150lbs at 5'7". The extra weight on the toe of the club promotes an open to square face at impact for those of use who tend to shut the face at impact. The sound this club makes is nice. It is not a tin can noise or loud but a nice thump with solid feedback. At impact you can feel how solid this driver is. The shaft is half an inch longer than most at 45.5 and can be "whippy" at times but is very stable throughout the swing. I thought about getting the R11 or the 910D3 but once you set the club to your settings you don't really change it much so I figured this would be a wise investment. I am now hitting more mid irons and wedges into most greens on courses that I play on a regular basis. I have always been a Titleist guy but once I bought the TM SP TP driver I was a believer. The white crown and white face makes picking your target line easier and definitely decreases glare unlike black head drivers. I love the driver so much that I went out and got the TM superfast TP 3 wood and it is just as good as the driver. If you have a chance to pick one up for under $200 go get it. I give it five stars because it is the longest driver I hit and excels in every category. I am now averaging in the low 80's to high 70's and it has a lot to do with this driver.

TM Burner 2.0 SFTP
Saturday February 12, 2011
Hi again folks. Please take my review of the Burner 2.0 SFTP as just that - my review. Actual results will obviously vary from person to person.

I recently had a chance to check out the new offerings from TM and picked up the new R11 and the Burner 2.0 SFTP. I spent quite a bit of time on the LM but, wanted to see the actual ball flight, shot shaping, sound at impact outdoors in the comfort of my local practice range.

Appearance
Again, the ghost white finish may not be everybody's cup of tea. It does frame the ball nicely and help with alignment. The TP version sits slightly open which is something that suits my eye. It is 460cc and you can tell the difference between this model and last years.

Performance
The overall length is longer than the R11 and this one came shafted with the Matrix HD6 (S-flex). I had a conversation with Matrix and they did confirm that this is the real deal HD6 and not a "made for" version. If there are any slight weight discrepancies between the TM version and the actual aftermarket version, it was due to the paint.

The SFTP is definitely a lower spinning head. It is also lighter than the R11 which offers everyone the potential and/or the benefit of a faster SS. Now, whether you hit it on the screws each and every time is up to you! I noticed my SS spiking into the low teens with this combo. Ball speeds were consistently in the high 150's and low 160's. Back spin was noticeably lower in the low 2000's with average launch in the mid to high 14*. The carry distance was a little further than the R11 and total distance was definitely further as a result of the lower back spin coupled with the ball speed and launch.

Shot shaping was just as easy with the R11. This driver is nice. Plain and simple. Nothing to mess with. Just grip it and rip it. Will this kick the Kamui out of the bag? Hmm, I don't know just yet. I was planning on swapping out the shaft for the Ilima but, the better part of me is telling me, "if it ain't broke, why fix it?"

The only thing that bothers me is the graphics on the driver head. It's pretty trivial but, if TM could have left it all white like the R11, it would probably out sell the R11.

Enjoy!
