Not sure about this thin metal insert on the putter face but it does seem to keep the ball on the face a tad longer during contact with the ball. Do not like the thin red color grip. I've had the speed cart for almost 2 years. The adjustable handlebar is good but if tilt it up too much, the cart becomes harder to push.
