Course was a lot of fun to play.If you can hit it relatively straight, you are set.Fairways were a bit on the thin side, but your ball would roll a long way.Greens were great, super soft and very puttable. The sand traps I saw my playing partners in looked like sand(soft) not hard dirt. Not too much trouble unless you hook your tee shots on a few holes. Fun course worth the green fees .

They must have read you mind because they mowed the fairways today. The recent rains really helped.Greens were great, soft but kinda bumpy( we played in the afternoon)and the tee boxes were great too. They gotta do something about the sand traps though.....that stuff in there isn't sand...more like hard packed dirt.Other than that this course is playing great.I think aeration is right around the corner though.Get it while it's good. Have fun.

This was the first time I played here.I have heard you either hate it or love it.I felt like I was playing a course on t.v.The fairways were green and your ball rolled a long way,the rough was long enough to make you keep in in play on your next shot. Not a lot of trees but this course is not that old.Greens were fast but you could stop almost any shot on them.Considering I lost only 1 ball( my buddy lost a dozen..ouch !) it was a fun course. The guys at the pro shop and in the cart area were nice too. I used "click4teetimes.com" for the green fees and that was cool .I will definitely play here again...worth the $$ and a good test of your game.

Greens were soft but fast. Not too many ball marks.Fairways were a little thin but the ball was rolling a long way with a good drive. The rough is not too severe, but the 1 sand trap I did hit into was kinda hard and was brown. For a change it went remarkably fast. The tee boxes were in good shape also.Worth the $$ if you are patient.

Played Sat. 1/3 Greens were great because of the recent rains, some wet areas, sand traps were a mess though(only hit 1 ) and it was really hard and packed tight.Overall the course was great, kinda slow but that's usual for La Mirada on a weekend.

Play was slowed due to frost on the greens, but overall course was fun. Will make an attempt to play all 27 holes next time.Pro shop guys seemed "out of it" as far as announcing groups or individuals off of the waiting list, but the starter guys were cool. Will play again ,easy course to walk also.

The ladies in the pro shop were great...too bad they don't/can't project that out onto the course.I can't say anything different that hasn't already been said about this course, but I played there anyway.Just wish American Golf would do something........anything..... oh well

Hankola....was going to call you some clever little name but I won't stoop to your level...I believe that Cypress is going to become a church and a Costco. As far as it's management I don't know. Are you the CEO ? Or on the board of directors?I have played there,a couple of times. It's your typical Pete Dye course....lots of tricks..just like PGA West stadium.
The way you go on and on about Long Beach, I assume you are the mayor or write for the Long Beach press Telegram as their golf reporter.
Like I said before,I WORK in Signal Hill and 4 of us at my work play there on our way home,so it's convenient for US.I could care less about you.....and I am guessing We(Bigmac and myself) won't be seeing you at Skylinks when it opens either since it is "The Black Eye of Long Beach courses" as you call it.

Sorry I forgot Heartwell. Oh and by the way,I HOPE the green fees don't go through the roof when this renovation is done,,,otherwise it might/will end up like Cypress golf club !!!! CLOSING !!!! OUT

Hankola...so you know LB better than me...big deal. Looks like bigmac agrees with me. If Cyp-ress priced itself out, then they should look into LOWERING their green fees.El Dorado is a nice track,Lakewood is getting better,Rec park is in good shape,L.B learning center is a great facility, never played Victoria. I know quite a bit about L.B golf. Little Rec 9 is fun every once in a while too.I used to live in O.C but play all over,I like this site because I can check out a course before I go...OUT

Saw a sign that Cal Olsen assoc. are doing the re-model job. This is the same guy who did Coyote Hills in Fullerton with Payne Stewart. It is looking good.
Hankola, the only reason I seem "enamored" is because it's on my way home from work,so I play there quite a bit.And since Cypress golf club is closing in April, there will be 1 less course to play.
Not everyone can afford $200 like you to play Pelican Hill or Ocean Trails.Have you ever given a good review to any course ?
I don't mind playing on a "average---to below average" course....= less people = faster round. Stay on your fancy courses.

Give the course a couple of weeks,I believe they are about to aerate the greens.Almost all of the fairways and tee boxes have been done.Greens were great though, soft and kind of bumpy...but what public course isn't ?Lots( I mean LOTS and LOTS ) of 5 somes,so it was slow, but hey ...it's Los Angeles...home of 10 million people. A great place to play though.
