Have not been here in 4-5 months and what a change. The greens and fairways are in wonderful shape compared to my last visit. Rumor has it....new greenskeeper with the same owner. Snack shack needs some help....ice maker broken, poor selection of food. Still need a little more attention in keeping the bathrooms cleaner and replacing burned out bulbs. I will return...the course itself is slowly returning back to the wonderful shape it was in with the original owners. Hopefully GPS systems will be back soon.

Wonderful greens....aerated almost a month earlier. Overall course in great shape compared to most other Public Courses. Some very pretty greens on the front 9. Enjoyed some of the elevated tee boxes. Worst things.....a lot of Blind Shots and severe Dog Legs. However if you cannot see where you are hitting to, just drive ahead an check out the layout first. I really enjoyed this course, however my playing partner hated all the Blind Shots! It could play quicker, however if you do not play here often, you need the extra time.

Pretty darn good shape for a public course ...the greens were in great shape, except for foot prints. finished in less than 4/12 hrs.

Used to be one of my favorite courses. I have not played here for over 7 months and wow was I surprised how much this course has deteriorated with the new owners. I have been coming to this course off and on since it first opened. I always considered this course as a "Premium Course" comparable to many of the better Orange Co. courses such as Coyote Hills or Black Gold, however its overall condition is no better than most Public Courses. In fact, after today, I think all of the Long Beach Courses or even nearby La Mirada is in much better shape and just as enjoyable. It is really obvious that Westridge management is really cutting corners to save money, i.e. the landscaping on the slopes btwn the holes and hillsides are all dried out, almost like a brush fire coming thru, the greens are very irregular and have several varieties of grass on them...same as the fairways. Even the bathrooms on the course and clubhouse are starting to look rundown. I do not think I will be coming back for a long time, I am sad to see what was once a wonderful well maintained course.

Course in great shape.....fairways and greens nicely maintained. Tried playing the other Long Beach courses, but like many other courses.....greens were aerated, but not at Rec Park.
Good course to walk.

This used to be one of my favorite courses, playing it about once a month. In the years past it was always well cared for and maintained, especially the greens. However in the past year, the greens have been poor with some never recovering from whatever work they were doing on it. Even the fairways in many areas have patched up grass. Overall this is a green and nicely manicured course. I am not sure if they have a new groundskeeper or owners. Even the Bathrooms are not as clean. It is sad to see this course lose it's high quality that it consistently had. I think I will stay away from this course for a little while and see what happens. It has never been difficult to get a tee time here.

I agree with the previous reviewers.....many fairway spots were wet, muddy and soggy. We have had no rain for more than a week, so it must be just poor drainage. I had to take relief out of a pool of water and mud a few times today. The greens were variable....some excellent and some were diseased. I guess with Skylinks now open....this course was pretty wide open today. Played Rec Park last week and I think that course was in overall better shape. However had 2 rounds of 4hrs at each of these courses during the weekday....that I love. I wonder if the slighter new higher green fees have anything to do with the course being less crowded.

Quickest round I have ever played here. I guess everyone must be checking out the new Skylinks (sister course). For this time of the year .....best greens I have played in Oct/ Nov. since almost everyone is aerating. Greens rolled true! Fairways and rough in good shape, however the tee boxes are aerated and sandy.....did not affect my slices though! Only problem I was always shaking the sand out of my shoes. Well worth the time and $. Overall the Long Beach Courses are always in pretty darn good shape....even though they have raised all their fees.
