Played midweek, and overall not impressed. Condition was mostly OK, with some maintenance going on like a couple heavily aerated fairways with plugs all over. Greens were inconsistent, with some roll... Continue »

I last played AH about 3 months and said then that I would not likely play for some time. So I lied! My son in law and his brother, took me out to play here on Father’s day. The guys in the clubhous... Continue »

Topic: Greens recently aerated
Posted: Oct 8, 2014
I think it would be a good idea to post an aerification alert for this course, based on the conditions that I experienced on Friday 10/3/14. The greens had been aerated some time in the previous weeks(?), and as of that date were not in very good condition - sandy, bumpy, shaggy and slow. This isn...

Bombs away! Play off the sycamore trees on the left side for the best chance of staying in the fairway. There's a pond left for short tee shots, but should be easy enough to carry if you pull one. Shots right can encroach on the #16 tee box, or if long enough may land near the #10 green. Either locale may make playing up #10's fairway a viable option (check first to make sure the fairway's empty!). Reachable par 5 which can be pretty fast from back to front if you're on the wrong side of a hill mid-way into the green for red/white flags. If you're below the hill for a blue flag, you'll need just enough to crest the hill as it gets fast up on the plateau. On the approach, do not pull it left as shots landing on the cart path have been known to roll back some 180 yards to where the cart paths converge near the #7 tee box.

Pretty straight forward hole - just don't go right (O/B). The green is fast from back to front and has some break, so try to leave your shot below the hole an inline to have a good shot at birdie.
