Someone please remind me to check the weather before getting a tee time here last minute!! Was absolutely miserable today in hurricane-like winds. It was so bad that I'm not really counting the round because balls were moving on the greens.

Understand why some people complain about customer service; guy at the front desk looked completely disinterested. However he did give us a "discount" due to conditions (didn't seem like much of one though...)

Course was in typical winter shape. Tees were great, level & still very lush. Had some divots in areas but they were for the most part filled with sand.

Fairways were splotchy-green & yellow patches galore, but they were fine to hit off of. Got a lot of roll.

Because it was so windy approach shots were hard to stick to the greens. Feel & contact-wise I hit some of the best iron & wedge shots in a loooonnng time but either the wind would take them or the green wouldn't hold them when playing a knock-down. Made for some frustration Putting surface seemed dry but ran OK, bumpier than I played last time. When you actually putted though the greens, seemingly fast, ended up being really affected by the wind. It was a guessing game all day.

Rough is nonexistent in some spots but in others it is in very healthy condition.

Bunkers are typical for Rustic-always have the rocks in them and a thin, compact layer of sand to hit out of but doable. Seems like there is a little more sand though than when I played here last.

POP in the wind?? Forget about it! Won't say because it would be inaccurate. There was no one really on the course though. Will have better enjoyment when I play this course in the spring, when it is actually WORTH every penny you pay.

Played today and course conditions compared to my previous rounds was a bit better than average. Fairways were in good condition, nicely cut & WOULD have ran well if it weren't for all the tree junk strewn about. (It's always like this whether it was windy recently or not.) No extremely bare patches but always some small dry or soaked areas here or there.
Greens rolled fairly well. While there was some bumpiness, some ball marks & them being faster than usual for city munis, it wasn't as bad as it normally is here.
Sand traps however are in poor shape. It's not the white fluffy stuff, but at least if your ball sits in the bottom of one there is ample sand. Otherwise, good luck hitting out of hardpan around the edges.
Rough is your typical city course rough: nonexistent & patchy.
Tee boxes had some minor issues in terms of divots & leveling but nothing too major for me. They move the markers around enough. Still looking fairly new since last time I was here when they were brand new.
POP was a little slow (3hrs 45min) but that included some minimal waiting on a majority of holes. It tends to happen here no matter what just because it's an executive course.

Decided to come here for what is becoming an annual Veteran's Day round based on all the good reviews lately. Course lives up to the compliments-it was in fantastic shape.

Greens are the highlight here. Perfectly smooth & rolled well. They might have LOOKED bumpier in the afternoon but I didn't notice anything on my putts.

Rough is definitely above average for a city muni. There are always some thin, bare spots on courses but these were few & far between.

Fairways were in great shape. Nice & green, and rolled out well. I can see why some people complain about the mounding on certain holes (#18 comes to mind) but it's really not that bad, just gotta get it on the right portion of the fairway. Not ridiculous in any way unlike Lost Canyons. I actually appreciated it compared to the long, flat city munis. Gives the place character.

I was in an awful lot of bunkers for me today, so I can with confidence say that they too, are in great shape. Sand is great to hit out of-might be a bit too firm for some perhaps.

Didn't see anything wrong with the tee boxes really, either. Staff was very pleasant & if you notice the little things the workers do in terms of maintenance it really makes for an enjoyable round. POP was a little slow but hey its Veteran's Day, everyone's out. Would play more often if I lived closer.

Pleasantly surprised with this course today. The layout is much more diverse than other city courses (like Balboa, Encino, Woodley) and the conditions are much nicer.

Fairways were very lush. Only minor problems others might have were the variations in grass types-only one really bad spot I saw on 15 where it was overgrown and muddy. Other than that, there was good rollout and it was great to hit off of.

The greens, however, are a different story. Most of the time I don't notice or care about a bumpy green but these were so bad that 5 footers were jerked off-line at least 6 times in a putt sometimes! Had quite a few going in the hole only to bump off the line at the last second due to lots of unrepaired ball marks. Frustrating.

Bunkers at first glance might look thin and hard to hit out of but they actually played nicely. Downside here is that you might end up in someone's shoeprint or divot since they don't have any rakes for half the bunkers!! Don't they want you to have a good experience?!?

Rough was also different than I'm used to for city munis, was much thicker than any other place I've ever played (except Torrey) and very lush, though some spots aways from the fairway resemble a typical muni. Hard to advance the ball very far so try to avoid.

Tees were perhaps ever so slightly uneven on some, nothing to complain about at all. Overall pleasantly suprised at this course and I will have to play the Harding sometime soon.

Pretty much the same conditions as the last time I was here, but the fairways were cut a little shorter this time, still too long for most people though. Fairways seem to have no "in-between" lies anymore, about 65% of it is lush, green grass-otherwise, there are dead, bare spots for your lucky ball to land in. At least they have them marked...

Maintenence is still lacking in the presentation department-sprinklers still being left on ALL day to soak a particular area that doesn't really need it-thus unnecessary standing water in lots of places throughout the course including bunkers, which as noted before looked good when dry (wasn't in any again today). In general course is unkept; lots of mucky grass clippings matted down all through the golf course/cart paths.

Greens rolled smoother than I thought they would but still had some bumps in them. There were some damaged/infiltrated/bare areas but these were mainly on the outskirts of town. I will say that the bermuda collars were in great shape!

Tee boxes as we all know are not the greatest. Not necessarily mounded like you'd normally find, just uneven with dips & bumps. Not the worst I've seen in terms of divot damage but not the best-at least someone is fixing/filling them.

Got out on Memorial Day & POP was good @ 4 1/2hrs.
Fairways, tee boxes, & rough-nothing much to say here, typical City of LA/Muni conditions.
Bunkers were perhaps the worst I've seen in awhile-hard & crusty, some even had animal burrows in them, but they seemed to have enough sand to where the club didn't bounce.
Greens are the highlight of the course-they were in amazing shape. I can only remember one hole with slight signs of aeration. Surprisingly there were a couple of greens that didn't quite roll smooth even though they looked great. Greens were pretty slow though.
Overall I have to say playing this course wasn't very exciting; fortunately I wasn't expecting much to begin with. Hole #5 is perhaps the easiest golf hole I will ever play in my life. Woodley is a great place to work on your game-the lakes almost never come into play, all of the holes have extremely wide fairways, & perhaps the only "challenge" is that many of the greens are elevated slightly.

Well, course has drastically improved since I was here, but probably because they water this place like crazy! Standing water everywhere, sprinklers on all day, no wonder the fairways look so nice. Yet at the same time the course is still rough around the edges...while the majority of a fairway will look immaculate, there are random patches of bare spots (essentially mud from overwatering) or standing water throughout. Fairways were also too long for my taste...had drives go 20 yards less than normal today.
Because of the overwatering, bunkers were saturated beyond belief but seemed to have good sand when dry. Rough was in the same condition as when I was here last, hit or miss. It was where most of the brown (yet soaked) patches were, almost nonexistent in spots, infiltrated with weeds & different grasses in others, or nice and lush in spots.
Tee boxes were fine, surprisingly very few divots. Some were not completely level but nothing too major.
Greens still showed very slight signs of aeration, but nothing was bad enough to bump a putt offline-they rolled for the most part well, maybe a tad slow for most people. Very few ballmarks.
Overall, the course looks great at first sight, but whoever is the maintenance guy/course superintendent does not know how to make a course look good without turning it into a lake. Frustrating because the course is extremely inconsistent except for the greens. Once they stop dousing the course with water & things green up more or at least look good I will be back.
POP was just under 4.5 hrs.

Wasn't sure if I could squeeze in a twilight round on a holiday & because of the course layout but I did because POP was good @ 3 1/2hrs. I know you're supposed to give fairways a pass in winter, but I'm not sure whether to call the fairways dormant or just plain thin/bare-they seemed to be in between. Rough was dormant but had these disk-shaped weeds in places where if your ball was in it, you were likely to hurt something by hitting the root. This course is definitely a hackers delight-lots of people wearing jeans, t-shirts, shorts (maybe just cause its Presidents Day?) chunking it all over & having no etiquette, thus:
Some par 3 greens didn't have too many divots and others had a TON
The bunkers are the best part of this course-nice fluffy sand-only problem: NOBODY RAKES-footprints & divots EVERYWHERE!! Very frustrating sometimes.
The teeboxes were awful-they must not move them too often because many if not all are bare. On top of that #17 was essentially a mounded tee box & one of the holes was a bowl-shaped tee box.
On a side note, I guess managment made an attempt? to flood the bunkers on #9 to make a lake-either way it looks messy & is confusing since there are no stakes up.
The views like many say are amazing here, & it is a fun little layout, but I wish the course conditions were better.
Wouldn't come back here unless I get a good deal on GolfNow or want to practice my short game/irons.

Played this past Monday. Course has become much more dormant than when I played here about a month ago, making the fairways even faster. Hit my opening tee shot 40 yards further than I normally do. Greens are super fast, and pin placements that day were diabolical, making this round slightly less enjoyable than most when you barely tap a 10ft putt & it goes 13 feet by on a mainly flat surface.
Other than that, course conditions were good as usual. Traps were more rocky than sandy but still definitely playable-just less of a divot than one might be used to.
Tee boxes were in very good shape, and rough seemed to be a little more lush than when I was last here. Overall another good round that is definitely worth the extra bucks.

Wind was howling today so lots of debris on the course. Fairways & rough are beginning to turn dormant. Greens are in very good shape-very few divots, but what divots there were were unrepaired and deep. Greens also rolled EXTREMELY fast, but that's to be expected with the wind drying them out fast. Rough was good, a little taller than I remember last time out here but fair.
Tee boxes all seem to be fairly new-not too many divots at all even on par 3's and extremely level.
Wasn't in any sand today, but judging by looks it did not look too good-very gristly.
Last time I was here they were still working on the driving range among other projects and now that everything is finished the course looks much better than it was.

Played today. Greens are the best part of this course, even if they are REALLY nasty. Only a few bare spots around the edges and pitch marks were kept to a minimum. Don't let the yardage from even the blues fool you because I sure got beat up playing here for the first time. Course DEMANDS accuracy and perfect putting, otherwise you are doomed.
Fairways were patchy in terms of the different types of grass/little flowers that were growing. Fairways were a little long and still slightly muddy even though we haven't had rain for a few days now. Rough was not patchy at all-well kept throughout and cut at a fair height. Sand was a different type than what I am used to playing from-more like what you'd see at the beach but it was fine to play out of.
Like I said, accuracy is a premium because there is very little room between the edge of the fairway & most of the hazards/OB areas. Course was not designed very well in terms of that it's easy to get hit from an errant shot on the previous hole while you are on the next tee box not looking, but its setting is great.

Played today. Course is in decent condition, typical for any course around this caliber/price. Fairways had good lies throughout even if there were a few brown spots and more divots than there usually are at courses like this one. Rough beside the fairways were almost nonexistent if you factored in length and lushness together, but around the greens it was near perfect. Sand traps were saturated but playable-there was standing water in one trap I was in. Greens should be smoother-lots of pitchmarks and bumpiness in general. Hole #6 (which was being remodeled last time I was here) looks much nicer than the rest of the course until you get to the green, which has bare spots filled with sand and large patches with the wrong type of shaggy fairway grass. It could look better but it isn't the worst condition I've seen it (probably because of the rain). Tee boxes were in very good condition even on par 3's.
