Me again. Can you tell I like this course?

So, yeah. The greens are punched. Looks like 3/8" holes or so. Some of the greens were sanded to fill them in, but not all. The good thing is that the greens are much more receptive with the holes, but obviously don't putt so well.

The rest of the course is in perfect shape.

No eagles this week, but I did have a kick in birdie on number 1. Nice way to start.

Man, what a golf course.

Played first off this morning. Even with a little dew the greens were smooth and FAST. It's in nearly perfect shape... just a couple of fairways with drain issues they're working on. Tees: perfect, greens: perfect, fairways: immaculate, sand: perfect.

Of course, I may be biased a little today... made an eagle on 18! Gotta love that 5 wood.

Nice course. Fun layout... always interesting and thought provoking. The granite boulders strewn about are great looking. Not a walker's course (cart included in green fee) as there are many long trips between holes and some big elevation changes.

The greens were pretty shaggy, but we played after a few days of heavy rain. I imagine that they can be pretty good when the weather's better. The fairways were really nice. A little long here and there, but to be expected after the rain. The tees were pretty beat up... we played the whites.

My Dad and I enjoyed our day. Nice people, beautiful course, and we got a pretty good deal on the Turkey Creek website (http://www.clubcorpgolf.com/clubs_region/sacramento_ca.asp).

Great great great golf course.

Today the greens were zippy. Certainly tour speed. Certainly as much as my group could handle. But very smooth and true. Nice to be able to put the ball on the line you want and have it track.

Everything is in great condition. Deep rough, perfect sand, nice tees, and great fairways (I was actually in a few today).

This is a must play course in the area.

I got a deal on golf707.com for $43, prime time on a weekday (usually $49). It wasn't super fast, but a course this nice deserves taking your time with.

Played again here on Dec 2... after the frost delay, it was SLOW. Still though... fun was had by all.

The greens are great for as much play as this course gets.

The tees are the weak spot... unlevel as a rule. But, one can't really complain about the price or the layout.

Played again Dec 1... the greens are coming back, though you can still see the remnants of the slicing. They were faster and smoother though.

They were taking plugs out of the tees as I played, but that really doesn't affect play at all.

I'm going to like this course the more I play it, I think.

Well, this was my first time around this track, and overall, I think it's a very nice parkland style course. There's plenty of sand and water and natural areas to get into trouble in, and plenty of elevation changes to make you think about club selection.

The greens had recently been sliced, which is better than punched, but it still messed with putts. I'm sure when the greens are in normal shape they're excellent.

My only real big beef is that there is no price break to walk. I was very surprised... especially at a course that has recently hosted an LPGA tournament, where obviously, the women walk the course. I still was allowed to walk but paid for a cart... not cool, in my book. If someone can explain why that's a good policy, let me know.

My second issue, was that I wasn't told before I paid that the greens weren't in great shape... I still would've played, but it would be nice to know beforehand.

Conditions were as a rule, not too bad. The greens, as I mentioned... were sliced. The fairways were very nice, if a tiny bit shaggy, but very consistant. The bare spots were recently seeded and fertilized, so that won't be an issue for long. Rough was not crazy-long, but long enough to penalize you. The sand was very nice... well, not so nice when you hack it around like I did today. The tees were great. Flat, good grass, and nicely filled divots.

Again, nice course. Definately feels and plays upscale. The walking thing is a drag in my book... but that's not an issue for many.

This is a great little course. For $12/$13 you can play nine difficult holes. Tight driving areas, and tough greens to read. Not too long, but long enough to make you work off the tee on a few holes. Both par 5s are "almost" reachable, but you have to cut the corners just right to do it. No real long par 4s, but they more than make up for it in difficulty. A short par 3 downhill, over water plays shorter than the card reads, but there's not a lot of room for error short. The other par 3 is a big 200 yard hole, and length alone makes it hard to get close.

I have yet to play to my handicap here... it plays tougher than it looks.

Conditions as of November 1: nice smooth, fast-ish greens, nice lush fairways, though not the most consistant, and long enough rough to wish you were in the fairway. It was a little soggy last I played it, but we've been getting quite a bit of rain lately. My biggest complaint are the tee boxes... there a few where it's really tough get even close to a level stance.

The course has a great "local" feel... we played 3 weeks in a row, and Randi, in the shop asked us if we wanted a regular time... everybody from the front desk to the snack bar is friendly and helpful.

Definately recommend it... it's no Pebble, but heck, you could play here 30 times for the money!

Hit 'em straight on this one or else... believe me I know!

Yeah, exactly... great course. Tight, with trees, ponds, and plenty of sand. You've got to drive it in the right spots to have any chance to score.

Great greens, amazing setting... not to be missed.

I played both courses today. Mountain in the morning, Valley after lunch.

Well, gotta say I was a little surprised and disappointed at the conditions today. The greens are great and roll very true, if you can smooth out the ball marks. The fairways were more brown than green with some bare spots, and rough even more brown. The bunkers were pretty good, a few had a lot of nickel sized rocks.

I like the layout of the Valley a lot. The staff is always great.

Played 6/8, first off as a two at 5:25am. Conditions were not too bad for Encino. The greens could've been a little smoother, but that's typical. The best part by far is the sand... must be brand new. Fairways are sketchy, rough is inconsistant, tees aren't too bad. I actually was expecting better with the LA City Championships this weekend...

Oh well... would'a had a great score with a few less putts!
