A little pricier than courses in the area, but definitely a cut above with possible exception of the Quarry. Best conditioned golf course in the vicinity by far. Playable and friendly layout. Greens rolled well, medium speed and accepted approach shots even from longer clubs. Nice soft fairways. So so bunkers like most course. Terrific and huge breakfast sandwich made the first few holes a challenge.

Price is right, but the conditioning is subpar from what I remembered last time I played here. Greens are ok, but fairways and tee boxes are muni level scruffy now. I'll give them a pass due to drought conditions, but some nearby tracks are in much better shape. Inconsistent bunker conditions as well. Still, great challenging layout and a price cut (paid $35 weekday afternoon) make it worth a trip out. All employees are very friendly.

We were excited to try out this track and treat ourselves to a premium round of golf in the San Diego area. We decided on La Costa over Torrey or Maderas because we'd heard it was recently renovated and wanted to check it out. Service is excellent, food in clubhouse is good. Unfortunately, I can't recommend playing this course because of the price and sub par conditioning. Fairways are brown and spotty, rough is unruly, tee boxes are so hard I had to use a club as a hammer to get the tee into the ground, greens were just ok. Paid $125 on a Monday afternoon and really wished we played somewhere else. Teed it up at Coronado the next day for a third of the price and enjoyed that much more.

Mixed bag. Definitely a challenging course. Fairways are a bit scruffy but playable. Greens ok, medium speed but bumpy near the hole at times. Bunkers and tee boxes are in fair shape. Great design though. Way too many mid to high handicappers teeing off from the blues when even from the white tees this course has too much length for them to handle with their sub 200 yard drives. This course would really benefit from some kind of policy regulating who tees off from the blue and black tees and moving up the white tees some. Not too keen on the what the effect of allowing fives somes does to place of play. Long rounds are the norm here.

Yeah, i could quibble about a few things, but not the price or value. Played Sunday 9/8 using a $30 coupon emailed to me. Lots of GUR on fairways and the rough is scruffy, sand traps are dirt but so is anything charging less than double what I paid. Greens are a touch slow but look nice, roll well and are receptive to approach shots.nice old school design with mature trees and elevated tee shots. Great service from everyone i encountered, especially the Filipino gentleman who mans the grill and the starter. Attentive and friendly employees do a lot to make up for other shortcomings.

This course really hits the sweet spot. Reasonable ($39 reg after 12 weekend rate) prices with no coupon or online booking needed. Good conditioning. Fairways, rough and tee boxes are nice. Fairways are almost too lush cutting down on roll after your drives. Greens are slowish but roll nicely and receive shots well. Not the most challenging track, but a nice mix of short and long holes with well placed hazards. Sand isn't fluffy but has enough "give" to get under the ball and splash nice spinny shots at the pin (got in 2x and Made 2 sandy pars). There are some better courses in the vicinity like Goose Creek, Glen Ivy or some of the Temecula choices but they'll cost you a lot more. Comparably priced tracks in he neighborhood (Hemet, General Olds) have nowhere near the conditioning of Menifee. Good job!

I hate to be so critical, but my this place has gone down hill. Last played here 7 years ago and remembered this as a challenging, well conditioned golf course with great service. Not anymore. From the moment you come into the clubhouse you can tell something is amiss here, everything just seems faded and ill maintained like nobody cares. Tee boxes and fairways are ok. Greens are terrible. Lots of bumps, bare spots and discoloration. Played 2 weeks before at a recently aerated course nearby and enjoyed putting on those more. Worse part was the bunkers. I can understand that cost cutting results in dirt rather than sand but the puddles of water on a triple digit hot day and numerous rocks are unacceptable. Put a nice gouge in my new 56 degree getting out of one. Nice. No cart service and the dilapidated snack trailer was closed. Got real thirsty on the back nine when our water ran out. Lots of better options in the neighborhood.

The greens have been punched and scalped so the are puttable but bumpy and unpredictable. Otherwise in great shape. Well kept tee boxes, fairways and "rough." Bunkers have nice soft sand. The weekend morning rate we paid is $49 and they throw in range balls and 4 bottles of water. As others have noted, great design. This is such a good looking course. All the staff we encountered was friendly and professional. Not much for food service but the pretty and efficient bev cart girl made up for that. Excellent pacing by starter.

Hadn't played here in years as there are just so many options here in the PS area. This was a pleasant surprise for $35. I played the Lagos-Cielo combo. The conditioning is immaculate, fairways and teeboxes are nice and green, greens were smooth but not receptive. Chips and pitches seemed to roll out 20-30% further than expected. Typical Palm Springs area resort course with lots of houses and condos lining the fairways except for the first hole on Cielo. You are playing through all the residential areas then suddenly you go through a rabbit hole and appear in Links Land but only for one hole, then back to reality. Weird. Friendly folks in the club house and not much play right now. Come on out!

Its been depressing to see most of the affordable area courses go downhill with maintenance or course management issues ( looking at you Yucaipa!) Shandin Hills was a pleasant surprise? Had sworn off SH a couple of years back, but looks like the management is throwing some $ and tlc at this track. Nice to see the improved range. Greens were smooth, medium speed and receptive to approach shots, rough was light and trimmed and fairways ok for this time of the year. Bunkers were pretty much just dirt just like everything in this price range ($36 Sunday morning) and tee boxes are chewed up but all in all an enjoyable round and a good value. Finished at exactly 4 hours for 18 with no hold ups.

Much better option for the price than other similarly priced courses (Yucaipa, waterman, Calimesa, GreenTree)

Good price, course in great shape, greens with exception of the several which we recently aerated were smooth and rolled well. Even the aerated greens were still playable. Friendly staff, and a short but challenging course. Great breakfast at the grill. All ruined by the fact that we were behind 3 fivesomes.....5.5 hour rounds are no fun no matter what the layout, conditioning and service. Can't say I'm coming back.

Still a good deal, particularly if you sign up for their email specials. This course has taken a turn for the worse in recent months however. Greens are ok, if a little slow. Fairways and rough are getting scruffy looking though. The teeboxes are pretty chewed up as well. Worst part is the bunkers which have no sand, just mud. Some of the ponds, are especially scary looking, with a thick green film of growth growing on the surface. With a number of good options nearby, we may skip this course (a former favorite) for a while.
