Played Tuesday morning teeing off just before 7am and finished 3h 55min. Always enjoy playing Goose Creek. Solid track with a variety off holes that will challenge you but not beat you up. Sad to see the large tree on the right side of #14 (short par 4) gone. It really changes the difficulty of the hole. The greens were in great condition. They held shots and rolled medium/fast. Some green had been pecked quit a bit by birds but it didn't really affect play. The fairways were in good condition with some browning but had good lies all day. The rough was good with some minor patchy areas. The tee boxes were good. The bunkers were good. The practice facilities are very nice. Practice putting, chipping green, and a large grass driving range. The staff was friendly as always.

Played in an SCGA outing. The cost to walk on and play is $320 which includes a forecaddie for the foursome. The outing cost $160 without a forecaddie. A big part of what the golfer is paying for is service. Valet parking, carrying bags from car to cart, locker rooms with showers, etc. I had not played the North Course so for the much reduced cost I thought I would give it a play. Rather than a shotgun the outing was set up with tee times ranging from 7am through 12:30. The tee times were 10 minutes apart and the round took just about 5 hours teeing off about 11:00am.

I found the layout to be enjoyable. Reasonably wide off the tee but stray to far and your ball is in the bush. There are some carries from tee to fairway. The terrain is rolling to hilly but nothing extreme. The greens were in good condition rolling medium/fast and held shots. The greens had subtle slops/breaks that can be difficult to read. The fairways were very good. I Did not have a bad lie all day. The rough was not too long but the ball did sit down a bit. The rough coverage was mostly good with some thin/bare spots. The bunkers (I was in a few) were mostly good. One greenside bunker was more like chunky dirt than sand. The tee boxes were fairly level and in good condition. The North Course does not have any holes right on the coast but it provides plenty of nice coastal views.

The course has nice facilities all the way around. The staff was welcoming and very friendly. For me it was worth paying $160 to play the course. I don't know that I would pay it to play the course again. $320 even with a forecaddie, not so much. Pelican Hill Resort has two solid courses, good service, and nice amenities. Value for the price depends on the individual.

Played Wednesday, 5/31. Teed off at 7:15 and finished in 3h 35min as a twosome. Thanks to the two 5somes that let us play through on holes 5 and 8. After that smooth sailing to the finish. The greens were in good condition running medium/fast speed and held shots. A two foot wide area around the greens were roped off due to pesticide application. There openings in the ropes for golfers to walk onto the green. The ropes didn't really affect play other than visual. I do not know how long the ropes will remain in place. The fairways were in good condition. The rough was low and did have some thin/bare spots but was overall good. The bunkers were in good condition including the fairway bunkers. The tee boxes were mostly good with some minor unlevelness. Skylinks is an enjoyable course that plays mostly straight forward. The green complexes provide the biggest challenge for the course. The staff was friendly.

Played Wednesday teed off at 6:50am finished in 3:50. The greens are in good condition with the exception of #1 which had what appeared to be some type of fungus. The greens rolled good with medium/fast speed and they played a little firm. The fairways were in good condition with only #16 having some patchy areas. The rough was mostly good with some thin/bare spots. The bunkers were good but always a bit wet early in the morning. The tee boxes were good with a few having mildly unlevel spots. Its an enjoyable track to play. Mostly straight forward with large tree lined fairways. Water comes into play on a few holes. The greens are pitched primarily back to front with some being a little elevated. The staff is friendly.

Played late Wednesday morning and it took over 5 hours to play (usually takes around 4:40). The greens rolled good and held shots with medium speed. The fairways have good coverage and areas that are typically thin have filled in nice thanks to winter rains. The rough is good with some thin/bare spots. The bunkers are fair to good depending on how compacted they are due to moister. The tee boxes are fair to good due to mild unlevelness and were the markers are placed. The layout is flat but has nice variety. Although water comes into play on several holes the greens are the real challenge to the course. Especially if the greens are rolling fast. The staff is friendly.

Teed off Thursday, 4/20, at 9:45 finishing in 4.5 hrs. I thing the course maintenance crew had Easter week off. The greens had very little signs of aeration a few weeks prior but they had not been mowed recently. They were shaggy and bumpy. Once the greens are mowed they should be in good shape. The fairways, other than being a little long, had good coverage. The rains earlier this year have helped areas that are normally a little thin grow in nicely. The rough was in good condition with a few thin/bare spots. The bunkers are very compacted (I was in three greenside). The tee boxes are fair to good due to mild unlevelness. I enjoy the varied layout of the Destroyer course. Water comes into play on several holes. The staff is friendly.

The Navy has taken over the running of Food and Beverage at The Navy Golf Course (previously contracted out). The restaurant, as of April 1, is now called the Take 5ive Bar and Grill.

Teed off at 6:45 on Wednesday and finished in 4:10. The greens rolled good with medium/fast speed and held shots. The fairways had good coverage with a few thin spots. The only bad fairway is part of 16 which is thin/bare. The rough is mostly good with some thin/bare spots. The bunkers have good sand but can be quite wet in the morning. The tee boxes are fair to good due to mild unlevelness. The Classic course is an old school track (straight to minor doglegs with large trees lining fairways). Most holes give ample room off the tee. It is an enjoyable track with usually very good greens. The staff was friendly.

Teed off Wednesday at 8am finishing in 4.5 hours. The greens were in good condition with medium/fast speed and held shots. The fairways were fair. While the majority of the fairways had decent coverage there are a fair number of thin/bare spots. The rough was decent with some thin/bare spots. The bunkers were in good condition. The tee boxes are fair to good primarily due to mild unlevelness. Los Lagos is an enjoyable track with a nice variety of long and short holes with some doglegs and rolling terrain thrown in. The staff was friendly.

Teed off Friday at 7am finishing in just under 4 hours. The greens were in decent condition. They rolled good at medium speed and held shots. The fairways had much better coverage from the last time I played here over a year ago. A few thin spots but good coverage overall. The fairways have several types of grass so the lie can vary from one spot to the next. The rough was fair with a some thin/bare spots. The bunkers are fair. The tee boxes are fair but some are not so level. Willowick won't win any awards for overall condition but $26 to walk on a week day in Orange County is pretty good. The new thing at Willowick is GolfBoards (did not find out how much they cost to rent). The staff is friendly.

Teed off Wednesday morning at 7:15 finishing in 3:50. The greens rolled good with medium/fast speed and held shots. The fairways had good coverage overall with a few thin spots. The fairways had cuts in them running tee to green but did not affect play. The rough was mostly good with some thin/bare areas. The bunkers were good. The tee boxes were fair to good. The course has managed the rains well except the falling trees. A starter in the pro shop told me they had 20 downed trees due to recent rains and wind. I know Mile Square is not the only course dealing toppled trees. The Classic Course is aptly named. Large tree lined fairways with strategically placed fairway bunkers. Most holes are straight to mild doglegs. Water comes into play on several holes. It is an enjoyable course to play. The staff was very friendly.

Played Wednesday, 2/1. I was pleasantly surprised with the course conditions a week after several days of heavy rain. The greens were in good condition rolling with medium/fast speed and held shots. The fairways were better than I anticipated. Overall they were in good winter condition with a few wet/soft spots especially along a couple of the ponds that overflowed during the rains. The rough was mostly good with a few thin and/or soft spots. The tee boxes were fair to good. The bunkers were fair to good. The heavy rains compacted the sand but they were playable. The Destroyer course has a flat and varied layout with challenging greens. The staff is friendly.

Played Wednesday teeing off at 8am finishing in approximately 4.5 hours. The greens were in good condition. They rolled good at medium/fast speed and held shots. The fairways are fair to good. Most fairways are good but a handfull have thin, bare, and/or patched areas. They were playable but it could create bad lies. The rough was mostly good with some thin/bare spots and the length was not very penal. The bunkers appeared to be decent (not in any). The tee boxes were fair to good. Two or three tee boxes had the markers on the most unlevel areas.

The course has a nice layout with a variety of holes and is very walkable. Water comes into play on several holes. Unlike the Classic Course with large tree lined fairways, most of the Players Course holes have small trees and mounding dividing them so spraying the ball a bit is not always penal. The staff was friendly.
