I joined the GK Gurus for an afternoon round at Quail Lodge. Timing was perfect as I was working down the road in Carmel and had dinner plans across the street at Baja Cantina.
Quail Lodge is always an enjoyable play. Entire facility has a laid back attitude with an emphasis on enjoying the day .

Alex and John took care of everything ahead of time, so all I did was show up load my bag into the cart and we headed to the range. Range is on all grass but was moved up all the way so max distance was 184 yards.

Course was in fantastic shape as it always is whenever I've played here. Greens were super fast and reminded me of the greens at Tehama. Greens rolled smooth so hitting your line wasn't an issue.

Fairways were fantastic. In a word Immaculate. No excuses for hitting a bad shot from the fairway. Fairways are also nice and wide so as long as your shot isn't too wild you'll find the short stuff.

Layout in enjoyable. Nothing extravagant but far from boring or gimmicky. Overall course conditions were very good. Definitely consistent with a high end private course or plush resort course.

A very enjoyable day at Quail Lodge with all the GK Gurus.

Got the opportunity to play Bali Hai with the GK’ers on Tuesday. First time playing here as I always thought it was more of a “gimmick” course on the strip. Man was I wrong. This is a legit track with some serious “man up” par 4’s. Great views of the strip and of course the Raiders stadium. Was cool to see the stadium from this angle after being at the game the night before. Lots of water on the track to keep you honest, yet fairways are pretty wide.

We had a forecaddie who was spot on with his reads on the green and knew the course very well giving us the “safe” landing areas and smart plays. Would use “G” again for sure.

Course conditions are very nice tee to green. Greens rolled mainly smooth at a medium-fast pace even though they had tiny pine holes from recent maintenance.

Fairways were in as about as good as condition as you would expect given the extreme heat of the Vegas summer. Highly recommend Bali Hai
